How do you know if the ribbon cables are all aligned properly? I am in the midst of doing a refurb for a 5th gen and for whatever reason decided to remove the ribbon cable from the logic board, rather than the hardrive. Then realized my mistake, took off the cable from the hardrive and reattached to the logic board the best i could. But was kinda difficult with such little space lol. I haven't turned it on to try yet, as I am waiting to order the iflash solo and such, but is there any way to know if it is aligned and secured properly before turning it on? Sorry for the long comment lol
most of the ribbon cables in ipod classics have a white line letting you know it's aligned straight and in all the way, for example the headphone jack and lock switch cable has 2 white lines, if it's fully inserted and straight you should only see one white line that's parallel with the latching mechanism. the easiest way ive found to make sure the HDD ribbon cable is fully seated is to #1 make sure its in the correct orientation, where the pads on the cable make contact with the contact points on the connector and #2 take the midframe off to get more space, you'll have to unplug the HDD to insert it in but that's much easier than plugging the ribbon into the logic board. im considering doing a full guide on the 5th gen with some tips and pointers on how to do pretty much any repair/mod since i know these models best. if that's something you wanna see i can definitely make that happen.
@@wishdankpods That is good to know, thank you for the help! I believe I have it secured properly then, as there is only one of the two white lines visible and is parallel to the fastener, as you mentioned! A detailed video on tips and tricks for rebuilding the ipod classic 5th gen would be awesome!
i wish, we dont have a cashies here in the freedom eagle country. i'm wondering what i should name getting a bunch of old junk from random pawn shops or thrift shops, i did find a PowerMat that was pretty beat up that im considering purchasing for a video
this ipad mini is actually more of a downgrade compared to wades, iPad mini 1st gen, non retina screen and is on iOS 9 and pretty much cant run anything
