ACTUAL Professional ICON tools you can find at HARBOR FREIGHT PART 2.
Save yourself a buck or two.
The chief professional long barrel air hammer.
Recently, on an episode over on the torque test channel, it was revealed that this air hammer not only looks the same but was made in the same factory and shares most of the same parts with the Mac tools mph1911. Only this thing has a different trigger mechanism. The Mac tools version? That things gonna set you back a crazy $399.99 while this chief costs a mere $140 retail.
DAMN, thats over a $250 savings just for knowing who actually makes it.

Just because they're made in the same factory and "share the same parts" doesn't mean they're the same quality, not a MAC tools or brand name guy myself, but just stating that everything is made to cost and quality, grade A parts go to the customer that pays the highest, grade B to the lower paying customers and so on, thus they might look the same, might function the same, doesn't mean they're going to last the same, not yo mention Macs lifetime warranty compared to HF 90 days.

I learned a a very young age that most similar products are made in the same factories. Here’s another example: Caribou tumblers are literally made in the same factory as Yeti tumblers. They are the same in every way except the yeti tumblers get ruined in the dishwasher and the caribou ones don’t. Oh yeah, they’re 1/3 the price if not cheaper. That goes for the coolers too.

Good air hammer but way less useful when hammering softer to harder precisely.

I have both. I have had zero issues out of my Mac in 5 years. Ya, it was like $400, but I also got it on a promo with around a10 peice chisel and accessory kit. So really around $300.
On my 4th chief now in 60 days of the 90 day return period. The quality control is absolutely shit. If this one doesn’t perform flawlessly I’m giving up. If I count my time and gas on 4-20 mile trips to town at over an hour a trip. I’m in this chief for over $300 aswell 🤦🏻‍♂️.
I just wanted a decent one to keep at home for occasional use. Guess I should’ve just retired my Mac and bought a new one for the shop.
The other thing that nobody puts enough emphasis on is that trigger. You don’t appreciate that better trigger design until you don’t have it anymore. The extra finesse of the Mac trigger makes it worth double the chief all day! All that power doesn’t mean shit if you can’t aim it/control it.
I’m not a tool truck fan boy, which is why I gave the chief a chance. There’s a lot of products on the trucks that are just rebranded. This……is not one of those!!!

I work on concrete mixers and I’ve used in of these air hammer and it does pack a punch but he undersells how terrible the trigger is it’s all or nothing with this thing it’s less of a trigger and more of an on off switch

THIS AIRHAMMER TRIGGER IS A LIGHT SWITCH. ON OR OFF. NO GOOD FOR WALKING BOLTS OUT

Buy the $14 one unless you use an air hammer a lot.

    I love their airbrush guns.
I have made Thou$and$ with them.
I have a brand new badger that I will never use.
People think HF tools are garbage but they are not.
