Just watched the Doco and seeing Anthony shed real tears at the end broke my heart because he was fighting it so hard and he still believes he needs to stay in control. But it’s healthy to cry, it’s healthy to feel. Of course there is a fear for many people that they can’t control their emotions enough to not hurt themselves or hurt others. I just know from my personal experience that allowing myself to feel every feeling has allowed me to not only be truly authentic but in comparison to my family, I’m the only one who never resorted to drugs or alcohol. And I’m positive that’s because I never tried to bury my feelings. But for someone like Anthony who has been suffocated his entire life, it may not ever be possible for him to be able to handle his emotions. I thought about him feeling alienated from his Mother and I hope he still has a relationship with Susan and Peyton.
You are a fucking hero, respect to you. Really made me tear up when you told Anthony the good new in the netflix series. Greetings from the Netherlands
Wow, So thankful to all who helped this young man. No one truly knows what goes on behind closed doors and the true victim goes unseen and unheard. You lose who you are and do not know that how you are being treated are not normal. That you matter, his statement about being not smart and being controlled is real. The abuser knows exactly what they are doing, his innocence of a child was taken from him. So happy too that he was helped to find his mother, grammie and his aunt and rest of family. I'm so excited that he gets to learn and grow to love and accept himself. He is learning that he matters. Those who are on the outside can always say what they would do but they truly dont know! The law system typically doesnt work out the way this did for being one who has experienced this type of trauma the abuser becomes the victim and they look perfect to all and the law can turn things that really hurt and matter as to something different because there was no proof. The narsacist abuser knows exactly what they are doing, the break you down to the feeling of nothing. I'm so happy that his road is full of bright and fulfilling dreams that he chooses and becomes the man he has always been but never knew. His new journey will be hard and long and you will always have the people who judge and say such mean things, but every step is a step closer to his amazing new journey. I'm so thankful for everyone that helped him and even his step mom brother. This shows hope to many who face this way of life everyday. I have been out of mine for over 10 years and I'm still learning who I am and who I was before my nightmare. Serenity is everything, I lost everything but gained freedom and serenity for myself and daughter, but it's a struggle everyday but each day gets better. Broke the cycle, and watching this has reminded me to continue to have hope and stay strong. Anthony is truly an inspiration and a beacon of hope to many! Thank you, I'm sorry my comment was so long.
I just watched the documentary and feel so bad for Anthony regarding the entire situation from being so young and witnessing his.dad beating on him mom, to kidnapping Anthony, to being a,secret hidden child, who wasn't given the opportunity to be a child. Who wasn't given the opportunity to go to school and to learn or make friends. Who was juat controlled his entire life and abused, even if it was verbally moat days and made to feel uncomfortable and afraid and knowing the police couldn't nor wouldn't do anything for him! I also feel so bad for everyone else who Burt hurt verbally, mentally, and physically! I feel really bad for his mom and grandmother and that.side of his family that had him stolen from them for all those years and robbed him of having that love and support from his mom's side! I hope he is in touch with his mom and that side of his family and that they are building a relationship, so he has that support and love that he so deserves! I hope the best to him and his family!!!
You really gave a fresh beautiful start for the boy and gave the rightful justice he needed. Thankful people like you exist in this world. Was really impressed by the way u spoke and handled the investigation as seen in the Netflix documentary. Lots of blessings for u and please continue helping people regain their faith in humanity.
This is just amazing. I wished our justice system would take these kind of cases in consideration more often.!! You all complete strangers took this kid this poor, neglected, isolated, desolate kid, and gave him hope !! I am so inspired by all of you even the prosecutors invested so much love in this case!! I truly believe that the sentence he received was exactly what he needed!! he needed people to come in and help him learn how to live life!!! He doesn’t even know how to live past a five-year-old‘s life!!! he is going to have to learn everything at 20 something years old that he should’ve learned throughout 15 years of his life. This is just heartbreaking I pray so hard so hard for this young man and I know God is going hold this sweet boy close & walk him down the the path to exceeding all of our expectations!!!! This poor baby deserves it. This to me was just pure evil suburban human trafficking!!! I hope y’all keep tabs on him for the rest of his life, as I would love to see what this young man does!!! God was in his corner, and I believe that he has great plans for this sweet young man.!!!!!
I just watched his documentary tonight and it’s very sad to think this continues to go on today. Has Anthony decided to further his relationship with his mother and siblings? Or has he chosen to stay close to his stepmother and brother? Reaching out to this young man from California.
I think the reason he never went to School was so that his Mother couldn’t find him. All of the seclusion was to hide him from his Mother. I’m surprised that wasn’t talked about more. And it seems his Father only ever kept him for revenge and control, never for love.
While I don’t think his life was in imminent danger on that life and on a surface level that makes it not okay to Jill someone. BUT, when you know that no one I coming to rescue you, that the Police can do nothing and Social Services can’t help him. Like the shot of him telling the Police he had not been physically abused! He knew his Father could see that on camera. What would you expect him to say???? He needed to be removed permanently from that house and I suppose he didn’t really remember being taken from his Mother or knew that she had been stopped from accessing him. But how hard was it for that lady to find his Mother?? Why wasn’t he helped much much sooner?
Thank you for helping Anthony, I hope you can stay in his life as a man for him to look up to in his new life
Thank you for listening and helping Anthony. We need more people like you. Many blessings to you all. 🙏🏼
