    Sad to hear about Marble Mountain, but it kind off was as expected at this point. It feels weird even thinking about it. I remember when Marble Mountain started, and so many years has passed. In some way, I grew up alongside MM. Alot has changed in those years, but one thing stayed the same, and that was eagerly watching the new MM content when it came out. Thank you 220 for creating such an amazing series, Marble Mountain will go down in Cities Skylines history as one of the most legendary series to date.

    As weird as it may sound Marble Mountain has mattered so much to me, whenever I had a bad week I could watch those amazing videos. Marble Mountain was absolutely great, and tbh it’s alright that we’re not getting more episodes, we have new series, new memories and new builds! Keep your head up king and keep the great videos coming!

    RIP Marble Mountain. Love that series and at least for me, it's how I found your channel. Being from California it was so inspiring to see Cities Skylines being used to create a build to reflect my home. Gonna miss it for sure. Thanks for all the inspiring work.

    Patterson should have a racecourse like most rural towns here. You could combine it with the Showgrounds as happens in a few places. Also an RSL and a bowling club.

    OMG YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE GENIOUS, Your detailing is amazing, may I suggest something? If you are still getting inspiration from New Zealand, we got small towns everywhere, I mean everywhere! Got a crossroad? Throw in a couple of shops and houses! Got a straight road? Throw more shops and houses! They are not on the map and only connected to the rest of the world by bus and your own car, they basically got something like 5 shops, 10 houses and a lot of houses spread around the area (mainly farms). We also got developing projects EVERYWHERE! Kinda invasive honestly, every main town has something like it, things like 20 houses packed up in a small space, would be realistic to have that too! Please do more New Zealand! I am sad cause you haven't done anything that is outside of Australia!

    What you definitely need is a Mount Panorama style race track somewhere on the map. Good job with Oceania so far mate!

    You've been working on MM longer than I have held any job. It s really heartbreaking but it's part of life, love the moments you've had. I think we can excuse a few cruise episodes to send it off into the sunset. I still miss border town and I'm sure will rewatch MM like I do Border Town.

    Man it is sad to hear about Marble Mountain but that project was a mountain amongst molehills. I enjoyed every episode of it and even though i never submitted my casino build, i had great fun building inside of it.
    Oceania has become my new favourite series as it really feels like somewhere i have been before. The telstra phone box and Hungry Jacks really got me 😂

    Some NSW towns actually do have nose in angle parking. Have a look at Narrabri. You should add some signs on the outskirts of town showing the distance to Dundee. 👍

    • @contax9377
      @contax9377 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is a NSW inspired town, but I've never seen tail-in-angle parking in Victoria. From the city to rural towns, angle parking is always nose in.

    Such a shame about Marble Mountain, it's where I found your channel and it is truly special. I understand though, and I am really looking forward to more Oceania and Mile Bay!
    And I'm super hyped for the airport, I think something similar to SFO (with 2 close, parallel runways facing a bay) would look really awesome!

    19:07 - Should have built the motel there instead of in between two train lines. It’s quite common to have motels on the outskirts of towns; as you enter/exit the town.

    Is the same true of Springfield? I remember you saying you lost a few videos worth of builds for that when your computer died. Would suck to see it go as well!
    Can't wait to see how the airport turns out! Still taking inspiration from Wellington for that one?

    • @twodollarstwenty
      @twodollarstwenty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Springfield is more of a motivational factor as I lost those builds. So there would be a lot of me rebuilding stuff. I don’t want to say it’s finished but most probably is too.
      I’ll definitely be taking inspo from Wellington. Maybe even making it a bit bigger with more infrastructure. Looking forward to it too!

    • @johnos_coins
      @johnos_coins 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s pretty common in regional QLD to reverse angle park, you can blame the variety of regional local councils with their local laws for the wide variety of differences across the country 😂

    • @daveg2104
      @daveg2104 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reverse angle parking makes it easier to load stuff in the boot, or your ute. Plus, the kids are normally in the back seat, so they get out closer to the footpath. That's the reasoning, anyway.

    16:22 I know I was surprised when I went to Bathurst to see reverse 30° angle parking on the street, because in VIC we park forwards into the 30° angle street spaces. If it was easy enough to rotate the parking for cims to forward park in the on-street spaces, it would still be "aussie" enough. I believe from memory in NZ they park forwards in the space too. I feel like reversing in is a NSW thing :)

    Maybe consider doing one more suburban pocket off the main highway near Dundee? I feel like that would make it look more correct almost since the town is large but it doesn’t have a lot of residential

  • @JCallowphotography

    There should be a motel across from the roadhouse outside town. The one at the rail doesn't make much sense for tourists, but maybe the rail workers might use it. You'd probably find takeaway shops close to the worker motels too.
    In these small uni towns, you might also find some free camping nearby, particularly where that river is. Free camping brings in seasoned travellers that spend their money in towns they can stay near.

    So you were wondering what to do with that land next to the silo, I think it would be nice to put just a little U shaped street that connects to the little highway, and you could make a little bit of it completed brand new houses with some under construction, and I'm not sure if the small towns grow a lot there, but here in the US there are many that are growing very fast, with under construction suburbs like what I said

  • @hampusboman7143

    The memorial could be from a massacre after a mass strike decades ago. Let's say that in 1969, the labour government wich had controlled Oceania for decade(s) had just fallen and the new government was made out of some sort of liberal/conservative party that gave companies more rights. After this the wages of the miners grew smaller as of the economic turmoil in the world, wich sparked dissatisfaction amongst the workers. This, combined with rising food prices, led to a mass strike in Oceania wich the government and company leaders condemned, even some union leaders condemned the strike, this became an outrage amongst the workers, and angry protests erupted in some towns, amongst them, Paddington. The police was called in and things escalated quickly, nobody knows exactly what happened, but stones started flying at the police and they fired back, in a total 15 strikers were killed and 25 were hurt, no police officers were harmed.
