    Very cool. I am building a tube preamp and would also like Bluetooth. This looks very easy to add.

    I remember several years ago looking at Arylic Audio as a Multi-Room audio system. Then I got lazy and went Google, but I am revisiting Arylic also, for similar reasons to you I guess. Being able to play local music directly, and avoiding the annoyance of a voice "Assistant" trying to second guess what I want all the time.
    Thanks for a great review / break down of the products.

      I thought these things were more expensive if im honest. I will spend some time playing with API as you could have "play random playlist" associated with lights on event or more crazy automations :D

    • @EsotericArctos
      @EsotericArctos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@notenoughtech They certainly have a lot of potential for integration. I think they were more expensive years ago, but they have certainly become more affordable now.
      I'd love to see more videos if you do get integrations with home automation running :)

    Hi! What can you say about these devices regarding the audio delay when playing video files on TV, Android and iOS over wireless data transfer protocols? There are rumors that with the standard operation of the devices, the sound lags behind the video by 1 second. I would like to see your opinion on this issue, as I'm going to build a universal multiroom system on these devices using a bunch of working devices. Thanks

    How is this compared with Volumio and a Rpi with a hat like hifiberry (f.i.)?
    Thanks for the video, Matt.

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say it's very similar to volumio in use. Advantages will come from the fact that you have a more audio orientated I/O straight from the box, but that can be solved by adding hats to the pi. If you already have a RPI setup, I probably wouldn't change for the sake of it unless you are looking to assign RPI to other tasks.

      yes, you can make a multiroom setup and play same music across or individual tracks per room

      can this be done without WIFI?@@notenoughtech

    I don't get why so much support for streaming services have to be integrated in the app. Wouldn't it be enough to just connect it via Airplay and then stream from whatever app I want? My use case would look like this: I would connect many of these devices in my house over WiFi, then I would to play music from several sources to different destinations at the same time. Sources are Macbooks and iPhones, where music would come from some obscure media player or from the browser. I'm looking for a solution where I have native support in the operating system so that I can select any destination I want, like clicking on the speaker icon and selecting output device. The output device would then be an airplay device that would be configurable in the up2Stream app so that I can select which speakers to include. Then of course I would want different airplay devices so that I can have multiple streams to different rooms at the same time. Is this possible with the Up2Stream Pro V3? Is it possible with other Arylic devices? Will it depend on if I use Airplay or Airplay 2? If it's not possible, how close to this solution would I get?

      You have apple to thank for that scenario. For you to have it work like you want apple has to work with a 3rd party API or let 3rd party to use their. Considering that is at odds with their audio speakers - it's not going to happen

    • @fuzzyelectrons
      @fuzzyelectrons ปีที่แล้ว

      @@notenoughtech Then what does it mean that the Up2Stream Pro v3 has support for Airplay? What can I do / what can I not do?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Upstream comes with a complete API you can use it to trigger play groups and read song info. You can use this to bind hardware or software. Any features not present in apple ecosystem (not via app) is an apple choice.

      @@notenoughtech "Up2Stream HD DAC - Airplay 2 High-Res" seems to be the device Arylic has that makes this possible. It's a bit pricey though. Anyway, thanks for the video.

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  ปีที่แล้ว

      No probs. If I had more time on my hand I'd make a dedicated player panel which you can simply embed into wall or add it to a shelf. API is worth exploring

    Cheaper semi less diy pnp multi-room audio ($85prm)
    Hardware each room: Google mini, USB Mini to ethernet power adapter, ethernet wire, IP-OP adapter (clean look if not Direct Connect), Android tablet, plex-pro+plexamp, plex-server, Bluetooth remote contro....
    With all this Hardware you can connect multi-room setup with just Google home Mini and a Plex server With group speaker mode
    this is definitely less DIY hacking and a bit less functionality potentially but you still get multi-room audio I use this every single day generally you get full audio in each room practically feeling the house so you moved room to room and the same song is playing synchronize dont have to be loud too fill the house nicely

      I use Alexa in the similar manner, but if I'm honest, I gave up on Plex through the skill as I hate saying "Alexa, open plex... wait.... or alexa tell plex to .....
      Maybe it's me but smart speakers are the last things I want to have full on conversations with each time. All I want to do is to say "play music" and I want the speaker to recognise the user, and select from the music genres associated with the user.
