    This is a perfect solution. It's affordable and performs amazing as I can see. Would be amazing to have my house full of speakers in the ambient. They even say they will support a "powerful" DSP for the new generation of boards. Interesting

    The Appalachian Trail is a long hike! You shouldn't be out of breath walking from one room to the next, LOL

    A great solution for most systems.
    However... for the audiophile junkies who are interested. As I understand it, these unit only output signals at 44.1khz 16bit. They will READ higher streams like those form TIDAL, but only put out lower resolutions. That won't matter in most situations where you'd have budget speakers installed.
    Worth noting if you have a super expensive pair of speakers in one room. That pair of speakers might benefit from something else. A Bluesound Node or a Audiophonics RaspDAC Mini

    It seems to work great! But don't you get the chance that when you walk from one room to another, the volume is not the same? I could imagine that when using all different speakers and amps, it might be quite in room 1 but deafening in room 2 while it might be perfect when you walk into room 3?

    • @Toid
      @Toid  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question. I went over this in another video, but each room has it's own independant volume within the app. You can set that at any time, including muting a single room.

    So you can only play music if their app supports the service? How would you use Jellyfin with it?

    Very interesting. I have a whole house system with 10 speakers that run off of Samsung Multi-room. I have been wanting to add outdoor speakers which Samsung does not sell that I know of, and sometimes the connection in some areas is spotty, the system is limited to 2 hubs, which in my house still does not solve the connection issues. All this to say would I be able to use my Samsung speakers, and purchase some outdoor speakers to add on. The Samsung speakers are all Bluetooth and the older ones have ethernet connections as well. Clearly, this is not an area I have grounded knowledge in. I have a Sonos system at work and it is great, but I don't want the expense since I have all these Samsung speakers at home.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I would like to have heard you say something about the shortcomings of these home audio systems, not specifically Arylic also Sonos and similar. When playing audio from your TV there will be a delay of 1 to 2 seconds as soon as you sync to another unit. Playing in single-mode will do fine. (No wifi speakers, only linked using speaker cable.) Playing a film like you inconveniently suggested by showing the movie titles. That will not work well.
    Will it work for a superball party? Perhaps, but the sound will be out of sync.

      That's a good point. I use my second zone out on my receiver and put it in the rooms that I wouldn't be able to hear it, like the bathroom or the kitchen. To keep up to date. This really want a review which is why it wasn't mentioned. I did a few reviews on these in the past and tried to highlight some of the shortcomings I found. Thanks for the great point! It's definitely something people should be aware of.

    OK, so the A50 has been superseded by the A50+, but it is essentially the same. One major flaw I see with these Amps is that they deliver full power into 4 ohms and a piddling amount of power into 8 ohms. A lot of speakers are 8 ohms, especially in-ceiling speakers, which I want to deploy. Sure, I can wire speakers in parallel, which is fine (and probably desirable) for larger rooms, but it adds to the expense. Smaller rooms such as my office really don't need 4 speakers. This is a deal breaker for me.

    • @Toid
      @Toid  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well they provide about half the power at 8 ohm which is typical for any amplifier. Having said that, you don't need much power for in ceiling speakers. They don't really produce much base which is where most of the power would be going. 2x30 watts should be more than enough. Keep in mind wattage is directly proportionate to the sensitivity of the speaker. The more sensitive your speaker is the less wattage you need to push it.

      Great question. I run a mesh system. Which really increased my range. Heck it goes all the way down to my pond which is a few acres away. But it is at the very end of its distance and I have no other houses near me to interfere with the signal. This is the one I just set up. I plan to do a video on it sometime. amzn.to/2NdzIJN

    I have Dayton plate amp (from Parts Express) that seems to use the same software for multi room. Is it compatible? One thing to look out for, at least on the Dayton unit, is after installing Pi Hole (ad blocking DNS server), the software was constantly connecting to baidu.com and sina.com.cn (somewhat worrying?).
