Been a Steelers fan since 1974. Dont have to believe in Russell. Just keep believing in my team.
Let’s Weld
Nowadays it's let's code
Everything that happened in Denver was the front office fault they hired a coach tryna get a certain QB that qb stayed In GB so u got Russ that coach was bad so u traded assets to get another coach who was into a different qb style than the qb u already paid
Ever heard of commas and periods? Good grief!
The thing that comes to mind when Rich brings up Russ is just how effin bad Peyton Manning was his last year in Denver, just how trash he was, and how a run first offense with a top tier defense and a QB that can just make good decisions and take care of the ball can still find success in this league. Russ does not need to be as good as he was five years ago, because he's joining the best roster he's been a part of since 2012. Now the Steelers' schedule is insane, the AFC North is a gauntlet, but i still think that there are going to be some good results. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens here.
Manning also manned up and admitted that the defense got them to the SB and the win.
Exactly. This may work, and I won’t be shocked if it does. I know one thing tho….it’s gonna be fun & stressful regardless.
Peyton was trash in denver as a SBMVP lololololol youtube is so dumb
I heard Russ pulled up to the barber shop on the Southside. Cool dude.
That's what politicians do.
@@SillyGoose2024 I guess. are you from Pittsburgh? I wouldn’t go down there if were him. LOL
Russ is at heart a salesman but sales are going so well lately.
Wow. Rich Eisen is talking about the possibility of the Steelers going to the Superbowl w/ Russell Wilson. What's he smoking? What a joke.
I’m a Hawks fan who followed him during his time in Seattle. I thought he was too scripted ala A-Rod but they won and as we know winning covers up a lot of ills. He was the toast of the town until things started going south. Then the “he’s a phony” crowd started coming out of the woodwork. Early in his career, his athleticism and ability to ad lib was his superpower.. 10 years later that superpower has diminished. He can be effective if he has a good O-line. If not, he’s just a too short QB who’s best days are behind him.
He had a good line last year. If you followed him, then you know his whole career he has made any line look atrocious.
Any Steelers fan that hates on Coach T is not a real Steelers fan and don’t know football period and this coming from a die hard Steelers fan most fans don’t even know who plays on the team or other teams other then there team they like so that what I call part time fans
Try punctuation next time
Always easy to spot a yinzer in the wild
Ben had 26 TD or less ten seasons of his career and he is an automatic HOF player. Wilson had 26 TD in 14 games last season. I just don’t understand the gloom and doom predictions. I think it’s mostly people hoping it blows up. If this works out for basically a vet minimum contract there are going to be a ton of long faces around the league lol
If it doesn't work out.....if if if
@@johnnyblazers Justin Fields 😈♠️
@@johnnyblazersIf it doesn't work out, it was still worth it. A vet minimum one year contract with zero draft capital. There's no downside. It's as low risk as a signing can possibly be. I think any team who doesn't have a franchise QB would be stupid not to try
@@jimmorrison9287 I agree. Wasn't my point
@@jimmorrison9287 💯 haters seem to be pissed there is no downside. They are literally playing with house money.
I'm under no illusions of my Steelers' chances this season. If they make the playoffs & Fields learns from watching Wilson at work, that's all I can reasonably hope for. And if Wilson by some miracle guides this roster to the Super Bowl, then you better believe all of Pittsburgh (myself among them) will be singing his praises until the end of time! Then he really will have earned his spot in the Hall of Fame, no question about it! While I am a realist & doubt the latter scenario will happen, I hope to be proven wrong. So we'll see what happens...but it'll be a fun & stressful ride regardless.
Beautifully said mate. Let’s go Steelers 👊🏻 with much love from a Steeler in Melbourne Australia
🇦🇺🤝🏻🇺🇸
I'm not a Pittsburgh fan, but I admire Tomlin. And you guys ar much better off with a double conf and 1 SB winner with the attitude a clearly younger looking Russ is displaying, than the Jets fans are with their diva. Good luck to you, Steelers!
'If they make the playoffs..." pff. Steelers. Tomlin. It's entirely a case of chemistry when they get there.
@@richardgale1287 : Hence why I call myself a realist with low expectations. I highly doubt my Steelers will come within sniffing distance of the Super Bowl. But if (and it's a huge **if** ) Wilson pulls it off, you better believe all of Pittsburgh & most of the league will be singing Wilson's and Tomlin's praises for decades. And for valid reason too
The king of platitudes. Dude should run for public office.
I hate Sean Payton so much that I hope Wilson rocks this season. First time rooting for the Steelers, feels strange.
I cant pull myself in rooting for Steelers.
"Great guy" Sean Payton was an original NFL scab. How low can you go.
Same with me. I used to be a Seahawks fan, but following Russel Wilson I want nothing but misfortune for Sean Payton and great success for Russ. This year will be great for Russ.
Feels weird rooting for Steelers though...
Don’t worry. The Steelers are the greatest organization of all time so they’re easy to root for 😉
Russ will prove haters wrong. 9 probowls 100 career QB rating. 43k passing 5300 rushing 338 Tds 106 int. 39 game winning drives. Superbowl champion
Russ is doing all the right things here in the burgh. Reaching out to the local Boys and Girls Club with donations to their cause from his and his wife's charity. He is at the Pirates games and giving autographs. We have our fingers crossed for sure with him.
I’m going to the game Monday night. I’m just gonna start wearing my Wilson jersey until I run into him.😂
Yeah he has the cameras on every time too
lol thats literally what he did in Denver and what he does. Dude still a scrub.
Russ may not play great on the field all the time
But damn, he is for sure the most picturesque QB a team could have. Positive, bright and charitable
Well that’s exactly what he did in Denver. He went to all the Avs games when they won the cup. His son rocked a Makar jersey. He even went to Rockies games. He visited all the hospitals. Even though Russ is a corn dog and seems like his sincerity is manufactured he does really commit to those things.
I don't really care about Wilson either way but if there is any chance he makes Sean Payton look like an idiot, I am all in.
Even if he has success, that doesn't really make Payton look bad. Because wilson is playing for pennies in Pittsburgh. He absolutely was not playing to the level of his contract in Denver, and his contract meant that Denver couldn't afford to put a good cast around him.
Sean Payton already makes himself look like an idiot when he puckers up his lips on the sidelines
What an awful comment
@@samuelwallace2782no, broncos are paying his salary.
My offseason hope for the Falcons was that they get Wilson (cheaper than Cousins) and draft Penix (yes, I really wanted that months ago). But I'm glad that he's in a good situation in Pittsburgh. And I will never fault someone for positivity.
All Russ has to do is be as good as he was last season , his team mates will do the rest.
stat wise 100% i think he put up great stats. though watching him play he definitely was the reason the broncos struggled a lot. not the full reason and he did even play good at points, but some key plays he messed up in ways that a vet shouldn't. but if he can fix up those rookie mistakes then i agree he could have a really great comeback years
That sounds plausible.
Russ will prove haters wrong. 9 probowls 100 career QB rating. 43k passing 5300 rushing 338 Tds 106 int. 39 game winning drives. Superbowl champion
@@RobertDavis-vg6uyPeyton Manning used to be awesome too. Players age. He isn’t the same guy.
All you have to do is actually watch the tape and not just look up stats on google.
@@bbb4228 Russ last year on a crappy broncos team had 26 Tds 8 int 3000 yards and 4 game winning drives. Russ had more Tds last year than all the Steelers QBs the last 2 years. Russ will be great in Pittsburgh
The way rich talks about Russ you would think he stole his high school girlfriend
Well, there are whispers of Suzy Shuster having drifted close enough to Russ to spark rumors...
Don't know if there will be a Seahawks v. Steelers Super Bowl, but Russell and Pittsburgh will stomp the snot out of Denver. Count that!
I want to see the Steelers and Cowboys or Steelers and 49ers in the SB. I’d love to see Russ and the Steelers knock the Chiefs and Ravens off en route to that SB.
The Texans are going to be extremely dangerous this year too. No faith in Cleveland, Cincy, Buffalo, or the NYJ. And no, the Seahawks don’t need going to the SB this year.
Steel Curtain, let's ride!
What's with all the negativity Good Lord. Can he not be positive what's wrong with that. People are tripping this man gets so much hate for being a very winning quarterback That BS in Denver was not on him maybe a few with the system being crazy but still I think you will see Russ back in form. I pray God he makes all these haters eat their words
Exactly, name me one team or an individual player who isn't extremely positive during preseason.
He's an easy target because of his unrelenting optimism. I'm a Seattle fan and he can be a cornball at times, but I'm glad he was on our team over DeShaun Watson, Jameis Winston, Ben Rapistberger, etc.
He'll make you eat your words
Right it's so weird that the big complaint is positivity and if it's genuine. Uh yaaa, pro athletes kinda have to be wired to win. Mix that with Christian - we got ourselves a positive guy. So what. Good for him.
I wish Aaron Rodgers would exude the same kind of positivity and eagerness.
Russell ...i believe bro..just show it on the field
His positivity is worth 2 cents. However if he throws 25 TD with 6 int like he did last year then he will be loved as a hero in Pitt
Russ is a positive guy, even while in Denver. He is a man of faith and is not a negative person. I hope he has a good year. He did a lot of community stuff while in Seattle too.
Let's ride!
Let's forge!
Tbh ima raider fan and I wish the best for Russ idk wth happened but he used to slang that thang
I don't understand how this is so surprising. Put last year's Russ on 2022 broncos and the are easily playing for a wildcard. Put last year's Russ on the Steelers and they win that division
The sheer number of people who want Russ to fail is astounding, especially since these same people admit that Hackett was in over his head and Payton wanted a QB to fit his scheme versus scheming to fit the QB he had.
I’ll buy into Rus more than I’ll ever buy into your takes🤣
I swear the last few months there's this high frequency humm thats been coming out of the mics on set and bleeding into the audio. Its really annoying and wish they would fix it. Come on Mike.
Wow, didnt notice until you pointed it out but it's definitely there. Replying so maybe someone sees this!
Noticed this too
Just don't shoot a commercial of him saying "Steeler's Nation... Lets ride." 😆
Let russ cook !
Yes, hey mister, get me a quarter pounder and fries😂😂 the interception in sb against patriots still haunts me. Those were great teams.
The Steelers had the sixth fewest 20+ yard passing plays last season with 41, ahead of only the Cardinals, Jets, Raiders, Patriots and Panthers. The Broncos weren't substantially better with 44. However, the Steelers were also tied with the Panthers for the second fewest passing touchdowns with 13 td. The Steelers also had double the rushing tds of the Broncos (16td to 8). Stats don't tell the whole story, but I imagine Russ will be more successful in a more balanced offense that gives him opportunities to uncork it down field and let the run game finish the job in the red zone.
If Russ is the cook, than let that defense be the oil and that field be the pan. Thank you lord Jesus for Russ. Guide him.
Yall need to find something better to do. There is ZERO reason to bash this man the way you do. There is ZERO TRASH talked about all the literal alleged grapists abusers drugs and gun having players. This man works. And nothing else. So you make up drama where there is none. Be better
A lot of the national media is gonna get cooked with all these doom and gloom takes on Russ in Pittsburgh. It didn't work out well in Denver but its like they don't even know his stat line from last year before they start yappin. I don't know about the SuperBowl but Russ gonna take this offense to the next level in any case. That offense desperately needed a strong veteran presence.
Both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are dumpster juice. Steelers will go 4-13 and draft Carson Beck next year
Russ has a great opportunity. If he brings a trophy to the Steelers he will be a god in that city. It’s there for him to take it. As a Steelers fan I’m pulling for him to show he’s a HOFer.
Russ is a good person and a great QB. Shawn Payton always looks like he’s looking for a baby bottle to suck on. I’m a Seahawks fan and I still want Russ to do great this year.
Russ and Tomlin will be a good fit, I think, because they are both so religious. That's probably a big connection for both of them
So Let Me Get this Straight Richard. You Seem to be Taking The Sean Peyton Side OVER Actual Stats and Somehow Indirectly showing Favortism in trying to Destroy a Man's Legacy on a WORD? Please Explain How It was Wilson's Bad Play that Lead to The Dolphins 70 Point Win.. Or How Come 2 Denver WRs Ran the Same Route during a Game. Please Rich and Every Other Sean Peyton Worshipper Out There Tell Us What has He accomplished Outside of Brees and Don't Say He Developed Brees because He Didn't. He Inherited Brees due to the Chargers changing hands and didn't believe Brees would make it back from his injury. Brees took the Chargers to the Playoffs before he got hurt. We KNOW Mahomes threw 27 TDs in a System that is favorable with Kelce. A Coach that Loves Him and Won a Bowl with 27 TDs. Wilson threw 26 TDs with a Screw Ball Route Running WRs. A New System that ONLY Favors Brees and a Coach that couldn't stand him Not to mention a Oline that was Horrible.. Yet Somehow Wilson defying the Odds is Washed Up and Mahomes Got Beaten by a Washed Up QB. 😁 Please Show Us Where Field's is Capable of Beating Mahomes WHICH is The Point!!!😂😂😂 54 Snaps and the Steelers will have to give up a 4th rounder instead of 6th rounder basically negating their Good Deal.. Just Stupid Thinking Rich.. Love You but Get Back to Facts Not Storyline Creating. Liked You More doing that but everyone sells out
Ah not 54 snaps 51% of all snaps this season. That is decidedly different he needs to play equivalence of 8.5 games
Russel Wilson is one of the best cheerleaders in the game.
Are u mad hes so positive? Even through all the bs? Sounds like it. Lol
Its insane how much that bald guy from Boston hates the Steelers.
Yo rich that koolaid comment got to be racist 😆 anyways go Steelers!
I honestly think Hacket and Payton are frauds and Russ will be very good in Pittsburgh under arguably the best coach in the league.
😂
Russ will find a way to lose games, guaranteed...
What!!! Damn leave Russ alone and let him be himself! Always reaching for negativity. Russ be you unapologetically!
Hopeful Russell will bring us a great season. He still has it in there somewhere
like Dak. Hopeful for all the under dogs this season to bring us some games.
Steeler Nation, let's Weld!!!!
Russ will prove haters wrong. 9 probowls 100 career QB rating. 43k passing 5300 rushing 338 Tds 106 int. 39 game winning drives. Superbowl champion
Russell is still cringe AF
He's drinking Iron City
Yep. They still have ROLLING ROCK back there? 'Was made in Pennsylvania...green bottles.
@@NativeBlackAmericanTv Used to be made in Latrobe PA. No longer the case.
I'm no Wilson fan, at all, but don't forget Denver is footing $35m of Russ' salary this year due to Sean Payton's incompetence more than anything. The Steelers are playing with house money. Might as well stay positive.
If Russ doesn't cook, then 5, 10 games into the season, maybe Fields will have worked enough, gotten the playbook, and be ready to go.
Pittsburgh got both guys dirt cheap, and both are better than Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph, and certainly Mitch Trubisky.
dude is washed
I would LOVE to get off Tomlin’s back. Get us a playoff win and I’m off!
The Steelers O-line might have him running for his life. The success of any team hinges on the O-line and the Steelers have struggled with its O-line for, at least, 2 years. Now they may have 2 rookies starting on it this coming season? O-line struggles? You have no running game because the O-line isn't opening up holes for the backs to run through. Poor pass protection=sacks, incompletes, INT, and a QB on the DL. Poor O-line and you have too many 3 and outs like the Steelers have had for far too long. Too many 3 and-outs= a worn-out defense.
if russ becomes a top 8 qb, i think he gets into the HOF no question. i think if he is a bottom 6 qb it keeps him out of the HOF. in between that i think it could be up for debate. he definitely had a great career. but after the LOB broke up seattle was never really a real contenter with russ as the leader, he only threw 4 4,000 yard seasons. payton manning had that after his 5th year. he 100% is the best qb in seattle history, Seattle HOF fs. but nfl hof? i don't think so, he's like dak, great in the regular season (before trade) but just couldn't win a playoff game to save his life only winning the occasional wild card.
I always hope the best for Russ. I hope he tears up in Pitt.
With a QB that they paid a million bucks for. That would be unreal. However, then what happens if he takes them and wins the big dance? Then you have a decision, are you paying Russ for more? Are you moving on to fields after an all time high for the last decade? Decisions..
How much should they buy in as the clickbait title. Well let's see. Their number 1 quarterback just brought in. I am going to go out on a limb and say all the way. Then after many disastrous games only then switch to Fields? Try to make their number 1 a success? Stupid title.
Despite being in a good spot, Russ will play the deadliest AFC North in 2024. No "sneaking" into the playoffs, they'll have to barge in there.
I think realistically that to believe he will either fail miserably, or be the best qb of all time is severely wrong. This team as a whole is complicated this year. Alot of new guys, new trades, the qb room is not the same in the slightest, and they have a new OC and even new qb coach. Anyone who truly knows ball knows that this will be nothing short of unpredictable. I say this as a Steelers fan
They shouldn’t, at all. They should but until Tomlin’s approach.
But I’m looking forward to him making Payton look like a clownfish fool.
"Here we go, Pittsburgh's going to the Super bowl"
Is he going to get along with Tomlin? He didn't at the end there in Seattle with Pete Carroll, and he obviously didn't get along with Payton in Denver. They couldn't get him out of there fast enough.
Qb stats are meaningless. When teams are behind in games, they throw and get tons of yards. Winning big games makes qbs great. Wilson had outstanding coach, great offensive tools and an alltime defense in seattle. Best comparison to him is jared goff. Can he achieve something like that?
Russ winning the super bowl would be the most Disney ish in NFL history, or at least since Kurt Warner.
I want to believe! I always believe in my team but boy it’d be nice if they came through soon
Fan base thinks playoff wins and super bowls are a birth right. Shock the world 2024!
As a seahawk and russell fan.. ZERO as far as that goes.. he just needs to be a better then a decent qb like he has most years and Steelers got a good shot. if it wasn't for tomlin era i could almost root for the steelers... im just rooting for the hawks best qb in recent years...
Stop playin Rich, we all know SB will be panthers-raiders. why even bother playing
Technically, given how dirt cheap Rus is this year. Steelers could load up stars on offense all the way to the cap and go all in this year
Er, when was Russell Wilson the starting quarterback of the Steelers before?
Didn’t seem like Wilson or Fields had an offense that played to their strengths on their previous teams.
Russ & SB now or Jus maybe someday.
Owner Rooney makes the call.
Does Russ winning with Steelers have value without people doubting ?
A stingy defence and a run heavy offense… worked well for Russ in Seattle.
They should buy i. Way more than the prince being the answer🤡💯
Steelers country let’s smelt !
THIS GUY IS A MAID MAN HE SAYS WHAT HE KNOWS NOT WHAT HE FEELS HES LOGICAL IN EVERY WAY WE CALL THAT WISDOM LOVE RICH SHOWS
Let's see how his 36-year-old body feels after week 12.
He does look like he has lost some of the weight he carried in his last few years in Seattle.
Should Fans buy into Rich Eisen's BS??
Am I the only one who thinks they have a higher ceiling with fields?
Russ needs to shut up and just do the work. Do it. Don't say it.
ZERO... Dude is a creep. According to Kyle Brandt, "One of the most unauthentic humans I have ever met.".
Bros gonna say “Steel got it.” after a win over Denver 😂
lol. sounds like 3 teams that will miss the playoffs.
They're a competition stop anointing Russ
What is Wilson saying now? Let’s weld?
...I'm down for a Steelers vs Seahawks Super Bowl, 20 years after the 2005 one. That'd just add to such a storyline really.
Then go on madden and create it.
@@SillyGoose2024 Fam, that's a good idea!
This is going to go terrible for them lol
As a Seahawks fan, I can be appreciative of what he's done...
But dang, am I glad I don't have to hear his fake QB talk anymore.
Fake or not, he’s a straight-up baller!!! That’s what I care about.
You want a likable QB who loses or a cringy one who wins?!
Don't sleep on Russ. He found himself in a bad place in Denver. And he handled it with class..The guy knows how to win. I'm a Seahawks fan and watched every snap he ever took in Seattle. Ya he comes across differently.. I get that. Give the guy a fair shot and he won't disappoint.
Oh he is drinking something.
The best story would be Russ taking the Steelers to the Superbowl and they face Seattle
You would hit the lottery jackpot before that happens.
He is still the worst QB in his division
Agreed
Rich talks about the Steelers offensive players like they are the Avengers out there. Pickens is good but he's soft and won't block. Everyone else is mid.
I expect to see Pittsburgh in tghe AFC Title Game... hopefully, against Seahawks(correction "CHIEFS"). I am a Steeler guy from childhood in Western Pa. Noplace else like it. Our highschool colors were Black and Gold. Our summer camp was, as I remember, at a Steeler used filed. However... I'm a bit torn about the Chiefs making history. If it's Steelers Chiefs?...No comment.
Unfortunately the Seahawks moved to the NFC 22 years ago so your hope will never come true.
gettin old(am old)...not sure how the hell I put
SEAHAWKS in AFC?! I think I meant "Chiefs" which I later mentioned. Damn... thanks for the correction.
