      @@GadgetInspector same. I just recently purchased my hs720g, and the weather hasn't really been up to par to fly it much. Can't wait for the spring and summer though. I've got plans to head to the beach, mountains, lakes, rivers... I want to explore everything now! Lol!

    Really impressed after a few flights. I thought flying a drone would be hard but it is very easy and this drone makes it seamless almost. I got this as a gift and it is something I look forward to using as often as I can now.

    So, I started off with an HS720. After watching your video and see how well that gimble stabilizes that image, I was sold. I returned my 720 and exchanged it for a 720G.
    Your video was extremely informative and I appreciate the suggestion to fly in a box to learn to fly. I will keep in touch and let you know how things fly along.
    Thanks again for your video.

    Actually, I'm happy with the controllers using the standard AAA, AA or what ever, batteries, because I use rechargable batteries. I would like for the drones to use standard rechargable batteries! Eventually the batteries that come with it will wear down, but if they are powered with standard rechargable batteries, one could always get batteries off the shelf!

    • @GadgetInspector
      @GadgetInspector  ปีที่แล้ว

      You shouldn’t need to but some drones actually force you to calibrate every time. I can’t remember if this one does (I fly so many 😬). My rule of thumb is to calibrate whenever I’m in a new location, especially if it’s miles away.

    I charged mine for almost 5 hours after I received it and for my first flight time, I only got maybe 8 minutes of fly time. When it abruptly went to low battery, it began doing erratic maneuvers going up down left and right and I could not control it until it crashed. I had great signal on the drone with 18! Satellites connected. The drone was also only about 30 meters from me and about 8 meters high. I'm going to try it again but so far this HS720G is a Holy mess SMH, really disappointed, I had alot of hope for this drone. The video and pictures are definitely amazing with this drone though, I'll give it that.

    BEWARE IF YOU LIVE IN THE US. I just bought this drone after watching a lot of these videos, and I was so excited. I got it and I contacted the company to find out if it was going to be remote id compliant like it has to be since it's over 249g this September (20203)... yep, NO, oh, but you can get a $300 module to add to it to make it compliant. Gee thanks, the combo of price drone and the extra RId module is equal to a mini3 pro. :( I am so disappointed. My fault for not asking first. I thought companies were told they had to comply this year with models being sold after 2022. Big mistake.

    • @GadgetInspector
      @GadgetInspector  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is actually a really good point. There are some pretty good sub 250g budget drones out there so if you don't want to deal with RID look into one of those. I have several drones I bought years ago that aren't enabled with RID so I'm looking at getting a module or looking for one of those designated flying areas.

  • @Roboticdoughbull3k
    @Roboticdoughbull3k 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not bad, but for the dough i'd still recommend a good ole used or even just refurbished Parrot Anafi if you don't want to spend a bit more for a new one. For that matter a Mini2 is about the same cost but if you absolutely need to save that$100.00 or so this is adequate for most people.

    • @GadgetInspector
      @GadgetInspector  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea if you spend about a hundred bucks more that gets you into some outstanding drones. This is definitely the best I’ve tested at sub-$300. Not even close.

    I have to say that after watching footage from HolyStone drones, I am noticing that the camera seems to shoot everything way over in the cyan color. This might (and can) be fixed in post however, the 4K might have something to do with it. I wonder if this problem goes away when shooting 1080?

    • @GadgetInspector
      @GadgetInspector  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right. I'll have to test it out in 1080.

  • @mikeb.6735

    Great video! I'm dying to get mine outside to fly it. I just upgraded from a HS175D (that doesn't have the gimbal) so I expect some really impressive video as compared to the old one. I registered it with the FAA and got my TRUST certificate earlier tonight. So I'm now legal.
    I do wonder about the proper care of the battery. Are we supposed to run it down completely before charging? Some say yes, some say no. At $75 per battery... proper care is pretty important. I wasn't impressed with the Point of Interest mode. I thought that mean it would circle the point selected in a big circle. It looked like it just hovered and spun in circles in your video. That's not much of a feature.
    I was watching how you did the video record on your cell phone. I love that and started using it on my new Galaxy S21. BUT... for some reason, it only records in vertical mode now. It won't record a wide video like yours was showing. It used to but now it's only portrait view (vertical). Do you know if there's a setting in the phone to change that? I know that's sort of "off topic" but you're the first person I've seen that records in the usual landscape (horizontal) mode.
    Thanks for the awesome video.

    • @GadgetInspector
      @GadgetInspector  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure about a settng to correct the vertical recording. I'll have to check when I get a chance.

    • @mikeb.6735
      @mikeb.6735 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GadgetInspector I would appreciate that SO much. It used to record wide screen. I'm trying to record the problems I'm having with the 720G to send to Holy Stone. I'll probably get a new one sent out. But it's a ton of work to edit vertical video into a viewable clip they can see.
      I've been trying to reach tech support at Spectrum but that department doesn't seem to exist anymore.
