Pros
- Includes a two axis stabilized gimbal with EIS for very stable video.
- Folding drone with very nice carrying case for excellent portability.
- Brushless motors.
- GPS/GLONASS system enables rapid lockon for pre-flight preparation. GPS also provides automatic return to home and landing capability on command, and on lost signal.
- 11.1V 2500mah battery provides about 25 minutes of flight time.
- True 4K camera, able to record video at 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution at 30 frames per second (fps). Video and photos are recorded to an onboard microSD (TIF) memory card (Recommend using a U3/V30 card at a minimum to record at 4K bitrate).
- Camera includes a two axis stabilized gimbal, and electronic image stabilization.
- Real time FPV in-flight video and advanced flight control features are vailable through the "HS Fly" app available on Google Play here bit.ly/HSFly and the Apple App Store here apple.co/3QLYmTJ. The app provides advanced flight control features of follow me, orbit, and waypoints.
- The controller has a built-in WiFi amplifier relay with external antenna that provides up to 3 Km range. Note that many countries do not allow 3 Km drone flights. But this ability does provide a good strong video signal for most flight environments.
Cons
- App requires use of phones with 802.11ac WiFi capability. Before purchasing this drone, I strongly recommend that you first verify that your phone can indeed use 802.11ac WiFi. Just do a simple internet search using the terms "802.11, your phone's model name, and specifications". Then see is 802.11ac WiFi shows up under your phone's specification.
- Weighs 556 grams. This drone will require registration in most countries. In the USA, it will additionally require completion and certification under the FAA's TRUST course, along with use of a remote ID system when flying.

As a responsible, safe pilot who flies strictly recreationally with several incredibly reliable drones that weigh above the 250-gram limit, I opt to not comply with remote ID. I have my TRUST certificate, but am not willing to broadcast my piloting location to the general (and too often generally nuts) public.

Not trying to be confrontational .. you've made videos .. approximately how many minutes do you spend on every minute of published production video including all editing, writing text, outlines, scripts, exporting video, reviewing said video, uploading, verifying uploads, and the myriad other things required for a video that might potentially be viewed by many, many viewers? .. I got sick before covid hit and am finally emerging, but the bar has been raised substantially during the pandemic .. my personal channel is not very big, but when I know a video may be viewed many thousands of times in the first day, unless I'm publishing essentially unedited video, it takes me absolutely no less than 5 minutes per minute, and generally 10-30 minutes per minute out the door and ready for consumption .. most Chinese companies don't have access to English speaking video creators .. and most companies now realize, it's more profitable to give away product in return for efforts like this 49:33 minute long video .. I didn't rewatch the video to see if there is mention of sponsorship as that doesn't bother me, but when coupon codes are involved, there's some form of compensation .. I'm both an Amazon Seller and Amazon affiliate .. my personal channel isn't monetized as I provide information I've usually learned at least in part from others .. I am returning to creating new production videos for my hobbies of software, aviation, and music .. no new ones currently online .. I'm just happy to be able to see real experiences like this in addition to or instead of the manufacturer's point of view.
You mean to make a real good drone with sensors and obstacle avoidance and a cable conector the controller to your phone and more features

Holy cow, with the lower price being an Amazon prime member, plus the QC101 30% off code, and also the 50$ off coupon, I just scored this drone for under 200$ including tax. As an amateur this will meet all my needs, and I didn’t spend 900$ on a drone that likely wouldn’t let me fly anywhere near where I live in CT.
In asia, this exact drone model is known as the SJRC F22s and the few differences is that the front glass area as laser obstacle avoidance, and the landing lights actually have LEDs in them. The controller is also different from the one shown here and is actually very similar to the DJI mini 2 controller (Shape and functionality). It doesnt use a wifi to connect to the phone but a type c cable
I looked it up maybe I was looking at the wrong one. They didn't look the same. How much is the f22? Is it better?

I haven't finished watching this video so I'm not sure if this is mentioned but, I'll mention it anyway. The HS600 is dummy proof when it comes to the props. The props will not go on the wrong drone arm. It won't let you.

Sticks up and out is gyro calibration, just leave it on a flat surface and don't move it. In your video mistook that for compass calibration. Compass calibration is sticks up and in. Then you rotate it horizontal then vertical and you'll get the confirmations. Without the compass calibration being done was possibly why in the app it was showing the drone pointing the wrong direction during the waypoint mission. Regarding the "landing gear", another reason to be sure to drop them is that they are also antennas so it might effect the range with them folded.
I have the SJRC F22S 4K Pro which looks almost identical except for different controller and apparently a few more bells and whistles like landing lights and obstacle avoidance. On the F22S if you hold the camera photo button down it turns on the landing lights, I wonder if the HS600 actually has the lights. Might try the holding the photo button and see if it does anything.
The return to home due to low voltage will kick in way before the 3K mark, most likely at around 1.5-2K, especially if you are flying in a performance mode. I love watching the distance testing videos and seeing the drones crash on the way due to low battery.
WHAT do you think is much better, the f22s 4k pro drone or the HS600?

Great video and just ordered it because I like the size and being able to see it. It looks like you enjoy seeing the bigger drone also. Got it for 203 which I think is a good deal for this drone. I was a little worried about getting the certificate but most say its easy. I'm hoping I can do that via the internet. I have the F7 mini and that's a nice little drone but wanted another that was bigger. Thanks

Isn’t it supposed to gain altitude when you press RTH to be clear of obstacles because mine crashed into concrete and a propeller flew off.
Only if it's greater than 30 meters away when rth is activated. But if it's closer than that, it will go straight home at whatever altitude it's at. Watch the ending to my video where it does a low altitude rth on low battery
I assume that I need to be away from tall trees and other obstacles for the "Follow Me" mode to work and so drone will not hit trees or power lines, etc., is that correct? I have tall Oak & Palm trees all over my neighborhood so me skateboarding on the sidewalk w the drone behind me will probably not work.
There is no obstacle avoidance. But if you fly higher than the trees and buildings, you should be able to avoid them.

No, but I will be doing a review on a very similar drone soon. It's the upgraded Potensic ATOM SE, but now with 3 axis gimbal.

I don't think I reviewed this one but it looks like a MJX. I wonder why they chose to add RID to this old drone and not the new 720R? Weird. I reached out to my Holy Stone contact because I'm curious.

I just got this drone. I'm having a terrible time with it skipping frames/stuttering. Your drone footage does it some @ 31:20. Do you have any suggestions for fixing this?
Yes. Make sure that you are using a TF memory card that can keep up with the high bitrate needed to record 4K video. I recommend at least a Class U3 (sometime also labeled V30) card. Class 10 (or lower) cards are not fast enough to smoothy record 4K. Using too slow of a card will result in frame skipping (stuttering) video.

Try flying in low rate instead of normal or sport mode. The Electronic Image Stabilization may cause stuttering if you fly at too high of a speed.
@@Quadcopter101 Thank you for the excellent ideas! The primary source of the problem is a bit of a surprise! HS support suggested I turn off mobile data on my phone. When I do this and turn off Bluetooth, the stuttering prob is reduced by 95%. I was even having a problem w/the gimbal not working. The video footage isn't perfect now, but it's acceptable.

5:44 , After watching your video I took apart my HS600 to see if there was anything in it’s belly, there is nothing other than the VTX and it’s just glued in place. No LEDs, optical flow sensor, nothing…
After reviewing the drone's ad, and its instruction manual, you're correct. It doesn't have optical flow either. I was mistaken. None of those "sensors" on the belly are real.
I did notice that there are two open sockets where maybe the missing pieces could be added. But not at all sure which ones would work. And I didn’t take apart any of the electronics since I had not actually flown it yet.
@@Quadcopter101 I disassembled the HS600 again and there is no place for the LEDs would plug in but the two empty sockets would accept the plugs for the optical flow sensor and the obstacle avoidance sensor.

Well through Wifi does have advantages. You can have the phone in a jogging wrist holder or something. And it reconnects. With the F22S I believe you have to restart it? I could be wrong.
You won't have the long range of course.
Holy Stone uses existing models and has them changed a bit.

@@Quadcopter101 In a car that kills 1.3 million people every year you can drive 5% too fast without getting a ticket. But if your drone is 0.5 grams too heavy, or it has a camera, they put you on a train to a labor camp.
@@Quadcopter101 BTW. Can you do me a big favor and call the type of follow-me 'compass' or 'string'? Only compass type is really usable in real life. So you can have it fly in front/next to you and steer it around obstacles. For that of course you need to be able to use the sticks. For example the C-Fly Faith Mini disables the sticks in follow-me mode!
And then a homepoint-update is also very important.
Remember the LYZRC L109 Pro? It did everything right! Compass type, can use the sticks, auto-updated homepoint. Fantastic. Best budget follow-me drone ever. If only the gimbal was better!! I care less about the lens being fish-eyes and the video 'only' 1080P. But the shaky gimbal is a problem.
