I just received my new Holy Stone HS720G. I haven’t been able to fly it due to bad weather but am anxious to see part 2 of your review. Thanks for all the excellent reviews and information you provide.
I finally got a break in the bad weather and got to fly my HS720G. I managed to get a couple taskeoffs and landings and flew it around for about 15 minutes. Nothing fancy as I’m new to drone flying and just wanted to familiarize myself with the controls. The drone was very steady and responsive but I didn’t do something right as my video didn’t record. This drone only comes with one battery so the first thing I did after flying it was to order a second battery. I got it on Amazon for about $60.
I have watched many other reviewers of drones and learn some things from them but find consistently that your reviews are the most informative engaging and helpful. So thank you! You made two comments in part 1 of the hs720g review. First that you had a love hate relationships with hs720e. Why was that? I think I may have the same experience. Second was that you really liked the hs700e. So far I have found in my very limited experience that the hs700e is just wonderful and easy to fly. While not as portable as the 720e it certainly seems to fly better. Thanks for your excellent reviews. Where can I find the link to your mother passing?
It’s in one of my previous video’s, I intend to share more of my faith in the future…..kinda like Shawn Cannel with Think Media….The 720e just seemed to drift sometimes even though i did everything right, then it would be great for a while. Pulled both out today and did a full battery test, the 720g is rock solid and 50% longer battery, they got it right this time

Little embarrassed to tell you this but last night as I checked to see if part 2 was there the Holy Spirit led me to pray for you and your family. This came as a strong word from the Lord to pray for protection and a manifestation of God's grace and protection for you and your family. I was worried that something had happened to you or someone in your family and that is why you had not gotten out the video. So was relieved to hear that it was just the high winds! But I just trust the Lord that the prompting to pray for you in Jesus' name was for the Lord's own purposes. I just try to follow the guidance He gives and leaves the rest in His hands.
My German Shepherd decided to grab my drone in flight on one of the first times using it! 😜It’s still running strong; only a few minor scratches! I was worried that it was ruined!

Thanks for the great review. That's interesting that the lighter 720G flies better in high winds than the 720E. Why do you say to never fly in headless mode? (14:25)
Headless mode Takes away the orientation of the drone, so it trained your subconscious to fly that way, then when you want to start getting some video shots, and you tried to fly the right way, it’s real confusing. So it’s best to learn how to fly a drone the right way the first time. It really messes with your brain when you switch back-and-forth, and it’s dangerous
My first 720g stopped communicating with the controller after about 30 starts. My second one had a joy stick that got stuck and caused a major crash. Maybe I am just unlucky. Will get #3, though, thanks to them having GREAT customer service. Have read that DJI's customer service isn't so good. Any experience with the two customer services?
HS has the best CS, it’s in the culture of the company. DJI will assist a little with tech problems but that’s about it. HS has there place in the industry for sure
Just found your yt channel today Is very interesting to compare the 2, the 720E and the 720G Initially the G LOOKS like a downgrade but if you look real close, it looks like its a much more solid built drone, even tho it's smaller. The better quality is obvious, looks like a little tank ! I am new to drones and really like the look of the 700E, like that bar style base. Know nothing more about it but is interesting it's one of your favorites too Going to shoot in the dark, after seeing your drone name B4UGO, IT looks a lot like a ham radio callsign ; W4UGO would be a typical one. You a ham too ?
Lol, no Ham radio here. The 720G is a much better flying drone, lighter, faster, much better camera and better flight time, but most of all it connects better with the app, I had issues sometimes with the 720E. As always I say buy the 210 first to learn to fly, then move up. But, right now the DEERC D60 (same company) has the D60 at 40% off, thats a REALLY good drone, link and discount are in my video description.
How does the photo quality compare for DJI mini SE at 2.7K vs HS 720G at 4K? First time drone buyer, long time Realtor. We need quality -but want to try first before spending big $$.Thank you.
Lucille, Holy Stone is the best drone in the $30-$150 range, they are budget beginner drones. I Think DJI sells the MiniSE a $100 to cheap. There is really no comparison, the MiniSE is a professional drone that is by far the best drone in the $299 range. It’s a true 2.7k and not enhanced. A pro with it could make a living doing RE photography and no one would ever know he wasn’t flying a $5k drone.
I just bought the E not the G and after this vid I’m trying ( not shipped yet ) to get the seller to switch it but I don’t think is going to work. I still think that the E is a very good first drone for me 😵💫 .. I’ve watched many vids about the E and the only thing ( remember is my first drone ) I find annoying is the battery charging time ( there’s a solution by buying another charger/battery something ) but I like the landing light specially if you want to use it at night after I learn really well how to flight it.
Its rare you will want to fly more than two or three batteries, there are plenty out there if you want more. Most really good batteries taking a while.
Hi James, Just purchased both holy stone hs700e and the holy stone hs720g via prime day (great deals). I've been using cars, boats and lately drones and helicopters for the past years.. This was my first chance to get some new gear, but need to make a decision on one of the 2 which one will work best for my use case and future proof / future enjoyment. Curios as to your thoughts, pro's and cons of the holy stone hs700e vs holy stone hs720g. I have see many videos but not one that really digs into the specs and tech but not a apples to unofficial review or opinion concluded based un use / overall experiences. I like day and night flying as I live ib NYC and so many amazing opportunities open during the dusk and dawn hours. Regarding batteries I see many off brand options for significantly less $$$. Have you had any success with these generic / compatible batteries. Would sincerely appreciate you input. Sincerely,, Lance
Great questions, the 700 is a much more stable flyer so I would use that one to learn on and takes great photos, but the gimbal on the 720 is great for video’s, Also, the 720 flight time is about 50% longer due to newer battery technology. Pretty much all of NYC is a no fly zone, be sure and check the app “B4U FLY”. I know of several pilots that have received big fins and the HS’s are not Geofenced. I didn’t realize there was batteries available that where not HS’s. I would stick with originals’, good luck and enjoy the addiction!
1st time drone buyer. Looking for drone to inspect home roofs. Do not want to break the bank, but not so cheap as to replace too quickly. Would this suffice? Suggestions? Thanks.
It takes really good photos, there are some great deals on used drones but be sure and fly it first. I’m a roofer also, don’t forget you still need your 107
Can you compare it to any of dgi drones? In terms of fly stability, video recording ect ?? Or dgi are on different league ? Somehow clips from dgi drones looks much better, sharper, clearer. Is it post recording editing or dgi are simply superior ?
Hey i love the videos you have ive watch 87% of them and i have mixed feeling. I want a dji mini 2 but, i would like a holy stone thats almost equivalent to it. I have bought the Hs210 on your recommendation and i love. I bought the Deerc D40 on your recommendation once again. So i would like your honest feedback. Do i save up and get the dji mini 2 a holy stone Hs720g or ??? I want it to be brushless motors Gps rth and a bit of wind resistance. Help please.
The DJI mini SE is $279 (at drone nerds) but I have noticed the DJI Mini2 is cheaper since the Mini3 has come out. To be honest, DJI has 74% of the market for a reason, they have the best drones at the best price. Holy stone makes the best drones under $100, but when you get clsoe to $300 they dont have the same quality. Also, after September this year all drones over 250 grams will have to have a remote ID, and the 720 is over that. So, I would go with the SE or the Mini2.

No, not even close, the G’s batteries are smaller but more powerful, drone years are like dog years! That’s one thing I like about flying FPV’s is the batteries all interchange
I have a holy stone hs360 as my first drone. I've only been able to fly it a couple times. Seems to be a great drone but didn't seem too stable in the couple flights I had. I would love to get this new holy stone. Hopefully I will have extra money this year to buy one. I am hurting financially right now so I can't get it at the moment
Let me help you out. If you paid around 200-250 for that drone and can still return it then do it pronto. I mean real quick like and in a hurry. Buy the dji mini SE. These are toy drones. I watched these reviewers and bought a holy stone and a ruko because reviewers like this gave the impression that these were reputable drone manufacturers. THEY ARE NOT. These are all made by a single entity and Holystone is a seller. You can probably find this drone on banggood, under a different name, for around $100. Again, not sure what you paid, but after buying a dji I now get why everyone said "just buy a dji man".
I cannot find a review of the HS600. Did you ever review that one? I thought the 600 drone is the flagship, so how is the 720G superior? I just bought the HS600, did I make a mistake?
I have the HS600 and I'm not sure if I'll get this 720g if you're looking for the same camera same gimbal but more range then the hs600 is better for that. I'll think about this one 🤔

I only had problems with the app for a while, and things that where my fault, like forgetting to follow prestart checklist after switching batteries, app works good now
New pilot, I have the 720G and love it. My issue seems to be with the app. I can't get out of beginner mode, the height and distance don't work. I have a number of functions grayed out. What am I missing? Thanks,

So I purchased a HS470 drone less than a month ago. I was out in an open field since I am new to camera drones. The drone was about 100' up. I got a red warning on my iPhone telling me "Return to Home" and transmitter was beeping. Before I had a chance to even react the drone shot up to like double the altitude then came crashing down. Well broken gimble, broken arm, busted props later Holy Stone is telling me sorry for your loss but there is nothing they can do. I am really frustrated with Holy Stone customer service. They have people reviewing all these drones, providing them to review at no cost. I can't even get them to stand behind their product. Equipment malfunction, causes catastrophic failure and they tell me "sorry" So now my Father's Day gift is a paper weight. I'm not sure if purchasing Holy Stone was the right choice.
My son and I will be new to these. So far I'm considering this or the dji mini 2... Any thoughts on if the mini 2 is worth the extra couple hundred bucks?
@@b4ugo I’m fully legal anyway (here in the UK) and both for safety and better visibility while flying at night, landing lights would be a must for me.
Just got mine in the mail a few days back and I did all calibrations etc. I took off then continued to keep moving away from me. Not impressed….. anything I’m doing wrong.

I never had a problem at all, with the 720e, sometimes I had problems with the app but never the drone. If you follow a prestart checklist I can’t imagine you having any troubles
Has any one had one of these suddenly turn off while hovering in the sky and drop and hit the floor even tho 3 bars on battery and showing 3 on controller
I have not heard of this on this drone, but others, usually its a battery connection issue, not a battery failure, be sure the connections are clean, its easy to get a piece of grass or debris in there, thanks for watching

You would need a card reader to capture footage from card, footage on app is really pretty good, most people wouldnt see the difference

My 720e flew away 2times and on the last time it hit a tree hard and lost its top and gps part and camera

I just bought the E not the G and after this vid I’m trying ( not shipped yet ) to get the seller to switch it but I don’t think is going to work. I still think that the E is a very good first drone for me 😵💫 .. I’ve watched many vids about the E and the only thing ( remember is my first drone ) I find annoying is the battery charging time ( there’s a solution by buying another charger/battery something ) but I like the landing light specially if you want to use it at night after I learn really well how to flight it.
Its rare you will want to fly more than two or three batteries, there are plenty out there if you want more. Most really good batteries taking a while.

Just purchased both holy stone hs700e and the holy stone hs720g via prime day (great deals). I've been using cars, boats and lately drones and helicopters for the past years.. This was my first chance to get some new gear, but need to make a decision on one of the 2 which one will work best for my use case and future proof / future enjoyment.
Curios as to your thoughts, pro's and cons of the holy stone hs700e vs holy stone hs720g. I have see many videos but not one that really digs into the specs and tech but not a apples to unofficial review or opinion concluded based un use / overall experiences.
I like day and night flying as I live ib NYC and so many amazing opportunities open during the dusk and dawn hours.
Regarding batteries I see many off brand options for significantly less $$$. Have you had any success with these generic / compatible batteries.

Great questions, the 700 is a much more stable flyer so I would use that one to learn on and takes great photos, but the gimbal on the 720 is great for video’s, Also, the 720 flight time is about 50% longer due to newer battery technology. Pretty much all of NYC is a no fly zone, be sure and check the app “B4U FLY”. I know of several pilots that have received big fins and the HS’s are not Geofenced. I didn’t realize there was batteries available that where not HS’s. I would stick with originals’, good luck and enjoy the addiction!

It takes really good photos, there are some great deals on used drones but be sure and fly it first. I’m a roofer also, don’t forget you still need your 107

Can you compare it to any of dgi drones? In terms of fly stability, video recording ect ?? Or dgi are on different league ? Somehow clips from dgi drones looks much better, sharper, clearer. Is it post recording editing or dgi are simply superior ?

The DJI mini SE is $279 (at drone nerds) but I have noticed the DJI Mini2 is cheaper since the Mini3 has come out. To be honest, DJI has 74% of the market for a reason, they have the best drones at the best price. Holy stone makes the best drones under $100, but when you get clsoe to $300 they dont have the same quality. Also, after September this year all drones over 250 grams will have to have a remote ID, and the 720 is over that. So, I would go with the SE or the Mini2.

No, not even close, the G’s batteries are smaller but more powerful, drone years are like dog years!
That’s one thing I like about flying FPV’s is the batteries all interchange
I have a holy stone hs360 as my first drone. I've only been able to fly it a couple times. Seems to be a great drone but didn't seem too stable in the couple flights I had. I would love to get this new holy stone. Hopefully I will have extra money this year to buy one. I am hurting financially right now so I can't get it at the moment
Let me help you out. If you paid around 200-250 for that drone and can still return it then do it pronto. I mean real quick like and in a hurry. Buy the dji mini SE. These are toy drones. I watched these reviewers and bought a holy stone and a ruko because reviewers like this gave the impression that these were reputable drone manufacturers. THEY ARE NOT. These are all made by a single entity and Holystone is a seller. You can probably find this drone on banggood, under a different name, for around $100. Again, not sure what you paid, but after buying a dji I now get why everyone said "just buy a dji man".

I have the HS600 and I'm not sure if I'll get this 720g if you're looking for the same camera same gimbal but more range then the hs600 is better for that. I'll think about this one 🤔

I only had problems with the app for a while, and things that where my fault, like forgetting to follow prestart checklist after switching batteries, app works good now

New pilot, I have the 720G and love it. My issue seems to be with the app. I can't get out of beginner mode, the height and distance don't work. I have a number of functions grayed out. What am I missing? Thanks,

There isn’t a hdmi output on the controller, I dont think it’s possible unless you use some other type of app

Is there metal near you when your calibrating? That can affect it. They do move around a little (a foot or so)

So I purchased a HS470 drone less than a month ago. I was out in an open field since I am new to camera drones. The drone was about 100' up. I got a red warning on my iPhone telling me "Return to Home" and transmitter was beeping. Before I had a chance to even react the drone shot up to like double the altitude then came crashing down. Well broken gimble, broken arm, busted props later Holy Stone is telling me sorry for your loss but there is nothing they can do. I am really frustrated with Holy Stone customer service. They have people reviewing all these drones, providing them to review at no cost. I can't even get them to stand behind their product. Equipment malfunction, causes catastrophic failure and they tell me "sorry"
So now my Father's Day gift is a paper weight. I'm not sure if purchasing Holy Stone was the right choice.

@@b4ugo I’m fully legal anyway (here in the UK) and both for safety and better visibility while flying at night, landing lights would be a must for me.
Just got mine in the mail a few days back and I did all calibrations etc. I took off then continued to keep moving away from me. Not impressed….. anything I’m doing wrong.
Make sure there isn’t any metal near you during calibration, are you waiting for Satillites? Sorry for the late response, been on vacation

I never had a problem at all, with the 720e, sometimes I had problems with the app but never the drone. If you follow a prestart checklist I can’t imagine you having any troubles

It’s good in 15 mph winds but it has been 30+ for a month here, finally shot Part 2, I wouldnt ask it to lift over a pound

Has any one had one of these suddenly turn off while hovering in the sky and drop and hit the floor even tho 3 bars on battery and showing 3 on controller
I have not heard of this on this drone, but others, usually its a battery connection issue, not a battery failure, be sure the connections are clean, its easy to get a piece of grass or debris in there, thanks for watching
