    I appreciate your walkthrough. I’m clicking in at 250 6’1 looking for something simple and light to stand and fly fish from in some local rivers in Louisiana that are real easy flowing.
    Sling pack one rod and a beer cooler is what I’d be loading on so lack of storage doesn’t worry me.
    Also I think it could keep me focused on staying simple.
    Walking it down to the water off a highway bridge and doing the outlaw launch so to speak has been something I’ve been trying to solve.
    I think you sold me my friend and I appreciate the time you spent on the walkthrough

    I love my Hobie Lynx. Replaced my PA14 and my Old Town Predator. Its so much easier and faster to get out on the water now that I end up fishing more as a result.

      @@ketocrusader3406 I've personally owned two pa14s and one old town predator. I fish inshore saltwater here in Pensacola FL and the Lynx is just so easy to literally throw in the back of my tacoma with a couple rods I can get out on the water at a moments notice. Its very light and crazy maneuverable on the water. I end up getting out on the water way more now than I ever did when I had the other platforms.

    Great review. I was debating between this and the Outback given it’s price parity, but your review helped me decided on buying this kayak. I am
    just a recreational user who might fish a bit so the Outback is too much weight for my specific needs. Thanks

    Thanks for the info/review. I have been looking at these for a while now. I have a Predator PDL but am tired of the weight and trailer, etc. I love the kayak but I don't need it anymore. I ended up taking so much stuff with me and I just got sick of it. I now bring a small bag or a couple of plano boxes and a couple rods and that's it. This will be perfect for that and maybe my yeti bucket or a H-crate mini on the back of it. I just with the price wasn't so hefty as it's crazy to spend that much on this when you can get a full on PDL or other pedal kayaks for less.

    😂 I’ve had my H-rails on back order from two different sites since November of last year. They were $129. My local Hobie dealer says I can cut the PA H-rails to fit the lynx. My problem with that is they are $80 more & do not have the gear tracks molded into them like the ones specifically for the lynx do. I was trying to wait till I had them before taking the lynx out but she’s getting her maiden voyage tomorrow.

    Brother this was a good review of your new ride. I really like it man it looks sweet. You touched on all the important information I needed to know. I have been looking for a pedal drive kayak for a while now. The only problem I see with this Hobie is the weight capacity. Brother I have 2 questions? #1. From your experience do you think this kayak will hold me at 325 lb? & #2. I noticed there was no straps on the pedals. Was there straps on the kayak and you took them all or they didn't come with any? Like you said I like the fact that it is lightweight at 50 lbs and you can lift it up and put it on any vehicle & you are right it is the lightest kayak that I ran across for a pedal drive kayak. This kayak would be awesome for me to have to carry on my truck 🚛 while I'm traveling. I love watching kayak review's. Thank you for sharing this brother. PS. Brother you mentioned that you go to Maryland sometimes. Just curious what part of Maryland do you travel too? You take it easy brother.

    • @southernsalt
      @southernsalt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The weight capacity is at 275 so it will be a little over and for the pedals, I took the straps off. I find that the straps just get in my way.

    I can get my Hobie lynx on the ladder rack of my truck no problem. And I'm a senior citizen. If you're thinking about it get it I don't regret it. Here in San Diego the big fish will take you for a sleigh ride. And if you want to pay registration you can put electric motor kit on it. That's what's keeping me peddling, it's my senior level exercise equipment.

      If you ever fish smaller creeks/rivers with rocks or logs, or fish shallow water much we would recommend a fin drive over a propeller drive all day every day. You'll be pulling that prop drive up and grabbing your paddle every time you find skinny water or a log that's 8" under the water surface.

Not sure If I could actually find you under the stack of gear you would have piled around you on your typical trip. So for me, I got this kayak not because it can do everything my PA can but rather for everything my PA can’t do (I still have my PA though). I travel a ton for work and I always struggle with the logistics of getting A PA with trailer to where I’m traveling and I worry with parking space and theft. With this kayak I can just take a few items and throw the yak on my roof and take off. There’s a lot of times I just want to launch somewhere real quick and fish such as under the rangeline bridge at TIC where trailering and toting a big kayak are a pain in the arse.
