Great job and cute as well. You are one talented lady! It sure is wonderful to see color in the gardens again. I live in PA and we are still waiting for spring color. Blessings!
Thank you so much for checking out the channel. We sure are spoiled here in zone 10b, but you’ll be getting spring color soon enough. Hope to see you back here next week for more fun projects.
I have been impatiently waiting for your video today. “Here comes the sun, it’s alright.” (Singing) This diy went from drab to fabulous, and I’m loving it! The vintage flower bike 🏍 flower color are a perfect combinations for your garden. It’s looks amazing! Soon there will be butterflies 🦋 fluttering around the flowers, and ladybugs crawling on the bike frames what a beautiful sight to behold. 😊 👏🏾 thank you. Enjoy your day. ❤
Thank you SO much! I no longer feel shame about having a rusty bike in the front of my yard. It didn’t make sense to many, but I saw potential. Have a wonderful week.
I always look forward to hearing from you. Your words lift my spirits! It was the perfect project to kick off spring, right? My favorite thing about having the bike in front of my garden is that little kids always point it out to their parents when they walk by. Thanks for watching and always being excited about seeing the next. ❤❤❤❤
Spit??? 😂😂 Let’s try “spot”. There are times when technology is no help at all! 😆 Looks like I am taking it easy for 4 weeks, Dr’s orders. Can you imagine my project list(s)?! I found a bike on the side of the road after my Dr appt. I’m going to see if I can get someone to help me get it. It’s not a Schwinn but still…🤞😊
I wish I could be there to help you refurbish the bike. Four weeks? That must have been some fall. I will try my hardest to make my next few episodes extra fun and diverting just for you. ❤
Aww thank you. Yes, it was quite the fall. I’m recovering quickly, as long as I rest. I did tackle a plain woven grass tote bag for a friend, basically following your “use what you have” motto. I embellished it with lace, strung pearls, silk flowers that I sewed opalescence rhinestone trim on the edges of petals, silk butterflies. My friend loves it. I showed her the picture of the totes on closet doors (from your first book) so she took inspiration from that & the bag now adorns a door knob in her living room. Kept me busy for 3 days. Next?… 😂
Oh, thank you so very much for those kind words. We’ve had a few more major rain storms since that last episode, and I’ll post an update. The bike is holding up! And the flowers are really blooming. So exciting when that happens.
I, too, love everything about this. ❤ The Liberty paint can did not do the paint color justice! My eyebrow raised a notch or 2 but I trust your design & color sense so I waited before reacting. And…I love the pistachio color it turned out to be. The play on the cabbage theme with the kale is perfect. I am very happy to see how well the rust removing gel worked. I wouldn’t have wanted to take the bike apart either. I fell this week & banged myself up enough that I have my right leg & left wrist in braces & would have my left shoulder in a sling but I’m on crutches so that won’t work. I’m spending many happy hours going over your videos & book making lists of projects I’ll do once I’m on my feet. Thank you for taking the time to share with us & please know we all appreciate you & your talent greatly. Have a fabulous week. 😊
Linda! That sounds like quite a fall. I’m glad if Nutshell Living projects offer any kind of distraction. I am happy you kept an open mind about the pastel green until the final reveal. If I were a better videographer I would be able to capture the true color shade on camera. Let me know if you have any ideas for upcoming episodes like the fitted sheet balloon curtains. I love hearing your feedback. I hope you’ll be up and around very soon. 😊
Thank you, @dhutch4789! After a pretty wet California season, I can honestly say there is no sign of rust or fading of paint colors. Cross fingers. Hope you tackle your project successfully. Thanks for visiting.
Thank you so much! It’s holding up to a few weeks of rain we’ve been getting here in SD. I’ll let you guys know how the paint holds up in the fall. Make sure and prime and seal your bike so it stays rust free for as long as possible. Have fun and thank you for visiting the channel!!
We grabbed an old bike from the dump with the idea to reburbish it like you did. But I had no idea where or how to begin. So it sat there for a year. We took it back to the dump. I wish I'd seen your video before then. I guess we'll get another one from the dump. Yours looks great.
Oh, Judy! I wish you held onto the bike a little longer too, but I know how depressing it can get looking at a pile of rusty to-do projects. People are always listing old bikes on Facebook. I do believe that spray paint (Gold Montana) is a winner. It goes on so smoothly. I’ll post an update of the bike soon. We’ve had several more rain storms since that episode, and I want to show everyone had it’s held up to the elements. Plus the flowers are really blooming. Thank you for watching! Means a lot. Going to post a fun one tomorrow. Hope you tune in.
Thank you, Joe! I had to work on the bike in between rain storms. It made me yearn for a garage like never before. In fact it rained again today. I hope the bike doesn’t rust overnight. This will be a good follow up to include on the channel. Thanks for being a loyal Nutshell fan. Means the world.
Thanks SO much, Cathy. Going to post an update this week so people can see how it’s weathered our 2 weeks of intense rain storms, so atypical for our zone.
Thank you! I bought that box at HomeGoods and painted it myself. It’s large enough to hold a flat of plants. Thank you for watching! Hope to see you for the next episode.

Beautiful. I was looking for ideas for my own bike planter and found your channel. Thanks.

Wow! Incredible job on the refurbishment. It looks gorgeous. PS: I can’t believe all the rain in SoCal.

@@NutshellLiving I look forward to it every week!!
Cute!
Thank you SO much, Ann. I will post some updated photos since we had another week of storms and the bike is still looking pretty.
Great job I love it

Looks really nice. Where did you get the flower box?
