Guess the Movie from one Frame - the "popular movies" edition #1 - movies from the last 50 years!

- Welcome to a new series of Frame Challenges - but be warned - you're not going to be able to play the "I've never even heard of these movies" card. I went through the last 50 years and pulled out the most popular of the bunch. We're talking about the titles that were on the Top 20 box-office charts of each year.
Of course, I did have to pepper it a little bit with films that weren't top-20 hits but are still monumentally well known. You'd be surprised how many extremely popular movies didn't find their audiences until they ended their theatrical run. I was very careful in making sure I selected titles that have earned the right to be amongst the popular kids (I mean, The Shawshank Redemption is one of the most beloved films of all time, and for the year it was released, it came in at #95. NUMBER 95. It was outgrossed by a Pauly Shore movie. In fact, even when you add in the extra money Shawshank made the following year, it STILL got outgrossed by a Pauly Shore movie. What I'm trying to say here is that I had to make a few editorial choices and I hope they're reasonable).
So the game is pretty straightforward - I show you a frame, you have around eight seconds before the title is revealed. You know the drill. I'm sure you'll know most of these, right?
Now, if you're looking for some more obscure stuff, do check out the ongoing series of 1990s films I'm doing. The only rule I had for that one is "if I heard of it during the 90s, it's fair game." But I worked in a movie theater for the majority of the 1990s, and I was very plugged in on what was coming out so some of them get pretty out there!

25/40. Sometimes it gets tricky to identify a movie if it’s part of a series, like Lord of the Rings, and you have to decide which one it is.
I had to read the entire Wiki page before I was able to trust the frame from Two Towers. For some reason, I was convinced that that scene was in Return of the King...
There are definitely some sequels that I'm going to have to skip in these videos. I just don't know how to separate the differences in some of those Fast and Furious movies...

Definitely easier than most of yours, 24/40, the first time I can ever recall scoring better than half!
I'm retooling the remaining videos for the 90s to pull some of the more obscure stuff out. I need to keep in mind "just because I remember it doesn't mean anyone else wants to!"

Plus I'm in the UK and some of these might not have made it over here.
32/40 Most of the ones I missed I either guessed the wrong sequel (22 Jump Street, I guessed 21 Jump Street, etc...) or the name didn't come to me in time and I knew it. I think there was only one movie on there I didn't know by the frame (House of Gucci).

That was awful. I have never even heard of at least half of the films ! A couple of good films and one classic
