First time I fully understand the difference between the two now. Need much more wrapper videos - habano vs broadleaf, corojo vs criollo, sumatra vs cameroon etc etc - so much potential of great content to come to demystify everything truly - thanks Holts!
Please 🙏🏽
Yes
Good idea
Agreed
I agree more please.
Anthony makes you want to put a suit on to smoke a cigar
Put on fancy socks too....
Great video Mazz. This is the kind of content that brings more people into the hobby.
Not for long, youtube will close it down
@@hahanah1463 C’mon man. No point in contributing to their algorithm in negative ways.
Great video. If you are a person who enjoys Connecticut cigars, there are lots of great options out there if you get away from the big names. Look into Dapper La Madrina, buffaloTen Connecticut, Patoro Terre Blanche, Southern Draw desert rose, and the room 101 Johnnie tobacconaut
Fantastic explanations of the various Connecticut and Ecuadorian Shade wrappers and the blended fillers they are wrapped over. Thanks Mazz 🙌🏼🔥🔥🙌🏼
best explanation ever
Glad to hear it 🙌
I love a lonsdale for CT’s. You really stay in that sweet spot for most of the smoke. Great job explaining the differences and tasting notes.
There is just something so appealing visually to a Connecticut wrapper! Thanks for the very informative video 👌
Hey Mazz, I want you to write my eulogy!! You have a great ability to describe everything!! You will make me seem like a saint
😅
Great video! Learning so much from you guys. So much goes into these things and I love knowing how much care and craftsmanship goes into each stick. I hear the terms and the countries but this was really good in the sense that I can now make some informed guesses about what I'm buying. I appreciate the effort that goes into these videos.
Thank you, we appreciate you watching!
Anthony once again hits it out of the park with another tremendous video filled with great information!
Connecticut grows the best wrappers on earth in my opinion.. of course next o Nicaragua and Cuba. The connecticut havana/habano leaf you get on Liga T52, Tabernacle Havana, the pledge by E.P., CAO Flathead is my favorite, but the CT Broadleaf, the CT Shade and the H-2K-Ct wrapper My Father owns, theCT Corojo Liga uses on H99.. they are incredible. I’ve lived in the CT river valley since my family and I move to the states from Italy when I’m 8, is sad to see so many empty fields and red barns in disrepair these days. I really hope for people like Nick Melillo, Dunn & Foster tobacco co, and Altadis bring about a resurgence for the finest of leaf to keep growing here.
Best cigar there us the perdomo but its a nicotine bomb lol
Thank you for the detailed information. The knowledge adds so much more to the smoking experience.
Beautiful , can have them any time of the day 👏🏼👏🏼 Greetings From South Africa 🇿🇦
Been a cigar smoker for years. Smoke one day everyday and I’ve had every wrapper under the sun but Connecticut wrappers are my go to. Absolutely love the CT’s
Don't blame you 😉
Great review Mazz. Not sure if you take special requests but can you please do a review of one of my all time favs? The Davidoff Royal Release in robusto?
Excellent video. I love the La Aroma De Cuba Connecticut. Fabulous smoke. Keep up the good work on the videos. :)
Thanks, will do!
Whats the difference between a Chateau and Double Chateau? Just size?
You got it 👍
Learn something every day 👌🏾👍🏽💯💥
Incredible video Mazz. Those are two of my favorite wrapper varieties. I really enjoy a Connecticut wrapper as it provides a cream and toasty note to it. I will have to say though that my all time favorite wrapper has to be Cameroon. Very hard to grow and maintain but worth it every single time.
I recently had a Don Lino Africa that has a Cameroon wrapper if I'm not mistaken. A very good smoke!
Great video love the knowledge I just smoked a fratello oro that had a Ecuador shade wrapper with a African Cameroon binder and was different but vary good
Gonna have to give that Ashton a try...and gift it to buddy who is all abt mild to medium. AF dbl chat i great value.
Thay Bella Cuba shade is phenomenal for 1.99 a stick.
Will always gravitate to shade grown wrappers. Love me an Ecuadorian-Connecticut shade wrapper and love Ecuadorian binders. Which is why I adore Davidoffs.
For the price and remember guys I wrote "for the price" the La Aroma de Cuba Connecticut is a very elegant and delightful cigar and rhe flavor profile is amazing
Who knows better than u paesano? Nobody. 👍😎🐊
I recently smoked the a la Roma
De Cuba Connecticut. Omg. One of my favorites. Smooth and mild.
Yes 🔥
My two fave are:
Broadleaf
Sumatra
I also like Cameroon, and San Andreas as change ups.
Great job mazz! Learn something new from these two different shades
In fairness, La Aroma de Cuba Connecticut flows off the tongue better than La Aroma de Cuba Ecuador 😂
very true 😂
My man, always dapper and the OG of information in my book, keep up the good work 👍
Always great content. I have to try them all now.😉
Excellent and informative! My store sells all of these cigars and I definitely love the Ashton and the La Aroma de Cuba
Thanks for watching!
Both phenomenal wrappers that I am leaning towards in new world sticks
Great video as always
So I am new to your channel but not new to cigars and I was curious if you have done any videos discussing win cigars are soaked, and/or dipped in cognac or brandy or I guess even bourbon what are your thoughts on that?
Is it true that there is Nicaraguan shade wrapper now made from the placencia family?
There is also a Brazilian Connecticut wraper
Excellent explanation and discussion of these wrappers. You really take your time to appreciate these cigars and it shows.
Glad it was helpful 👊
Thanks Anthony. I’ve been enjoy cigars for over 20 yrs but 1always based my purchases on price. Since I’ve subscribed to you videos
Great to hear! There are plenty of cigars that aren't properly represented by their price
Cammacho Connecticut is my all time favorite
Gotta compliment you on your accent, idk if u realize it but you’ve got a really strong one. I had to rewind once or twice because I’m from Texas and your accent ain’t like ours!
😂 thank you! Definitely a little different
Thanks for the detailed and enjoyable overview!
Glad you enjoyed it 🙌
great explanation Anthony!
Great video, sir! Thank you!
👊
Mazz - these videos are excellent. Especially for a beginner like me just starting out. Great guidance
Great to hear!
@holtscigars I'm in Glasgow Scotland at Bruce Hornsby gig. Just found cigar shop and gonna frequent tomorrow. Looks good
I really enjoyed this video. I’ve always wanted to know the difference between these wrappers. So cool!
Do you know if the Nicaraguan brands like Perdomo own the farms in Ecuador, or are they purchasing the tobacco?
Every factory is different, some source their tobacco and others will grow it. Glad you enjoyed the content!
@@holtscigarsdo you think you could do a video about Pennsylvania broadleaf tobacco? I live in PA and I really would love to learn about our local varietal.
My older brother and I worked in the tobacco fields in Connecticut, Consolidated Tobacco was the name of the company we worked for. Hard work but good money for teenagers.
Great video, excellent explanation. Specifically when you said US Connecticut have a lower nicotine content. That’s something cigar companies don’t generally divulge.
The Cabinet is a phenomenal cigar.
💯🤤
Mazz is a great teacher
Sorry Anthony I’m a novice when it comes to adding a comment. What I was trying to say was since I’ve been watching your videos I stopped buying based on price but my preference of mild to medium cigars. This has really changed my smoking experience.
Outstanding video!
Thank you very much!
Virginias, Burleys and perique are also from the US
Correct, but that’s pipe tobacco. We are specifically talking about premium cigar tobacco.
Completely understandable, I’m normally a pipe smoker. I really enjoy your videos and getting into cigars myself. Your videos have definitely helped me find out what my pallet is building off my pipe smoking favorites
nice
Is there a Connecticut Puro?
Not that I’m aware of.
I just finished my custom self made cigar cutter with Australian Black Opals and fine Ethiopian Opals.
Thank you so much . I was watching this while enjoying a cigar- La Conquista. I believe it is an Ecuadorian shade wrapper. Good cigar, never had it before. I love trying new sticks. Thanks again for the videos.
Glad the video was helpful thanks for watching 👊
This channel is getting better and better. One of the best now.
Hi Anthony another great show. Can you recommend a full bodied Connecticut wrapper cigar?
Give the My Father Connecticut a go 🔥
They should not be called Connecticut unless it’s actualy grown in CT.. I say call it Ecuador shade, no CT💯💯💯💯
Just a distinction of seed variety.
@@anthonymazzola4470 I know, I completely understand that, it’s just being from the CT River Valley just over the CT Border in Springfield Mass I suppose I have some Ct River Valley Tobacco Pride. This area down to New Haven at one time was the cigar Tobacco mecca.. I feel it deserves to be held to higher standards I guess. Anyway, I really enjoy your videos. Here’s to many more 🍷 cent’anni
@@giannicatalano6062 tobacco & pizza CT definitely does exceptional 😉
