      Just got mine 2days ago, I am also torn between this and R1280Dbs however, this one is the latest, and the output is higher so it produces bigger sound. Love it.

      @@RichardTech did you test the line out? Can the speaker connected with additional active sub? The line out on mine won't produce any sound when i plug in active speaker or sub. When i asked edifier, they told me line out is just for headphones. Which one is true?

      Hello. Torn also between the two. Btw, do you guys mostly use this for smartphone audio?

      @@oliberrr I tried to an Mp3 player and also phone, both worked just good. You can also use cable provided or buy seperate aux to aux 3.5mm cable to connect to phone or anything similar

    That's a pretty solid option for the price - especially like the wooden colour accents on it which could blend in with just about any setup. Good job!

    • @RichardTech
      @RichardTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely, this is the only colour available at the moment but, guessing from other Edifier products, an all-black colour can't be too far away. Thanks for watching!

    What do you think of this speaker for small-scale DJing of electronic music? Does it lack bass?

    • @RichardTech
      @RichardTech  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn’t say it’s lacking but for DJ’ing and particularly electronic music I would recommend something with a bit more oomph. Thanks for watching the review!

    Aside from the poorly integrated status LED and the silver line, its pretty compelling...

    I would like to ask, I have a room about 4 * 4, if I open it 30 40%, will the sound be good?

  • @oliberrr
    @oliberrr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    2:06 Satellite speaker - Will it sound more immersive or be 2.0?
    3:27 Will two edifier address this concern? Will another D12 make you feel that it is indeed stereo?

    • @RichardTech
      @RichardTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd imagine adding a satellite speaker would provide a more immersive sound. Two Edifier speakers may address the concern of stereo separation, although you may be better off looking at a dedicated Edifier 2.0 speaker if you want to ensure stereo separation. I'm planning on buying two of these to put them to play together in a large living room. Do you know if it is possible to paring two of them through Bluetooth to play together?

      @@RichardTech what about r1280db? You have reviewed those before yeah? In your opinion, which one sounds better and why? TIA for your reply, Ive just subscribed!

    • @RichardTech
      @RichardTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is correct, I have reviewed the R1280DB. Both are very good and allow you to tweak the EQ with the dials, the R1280DB will have the advantage of being two separate speaker units so you will get a better stereo separation, but the D12 has the advantage of being a fairly compact single unit. Can you tell me about the sound quality between Edifier D12 and Harman Kardon Onyx Estudio 4? I want a "portable" speaker and want to buy a good one.

    maybe its a stupid question but could you use the line out to plug in headphones?

    • @RichardTech
      @RichardTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The speaker would only see this as an additional output, so sound would both be coming out of the speaker as well as your headphones. Thanks for watching!

    Can 2 D12s be used in parallel source is TV

    • @RichardTech
      @RichardTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I imagine you could, although I’m not sure if you would be able to get a true stereo experience from using two D12s in that way unless you had a mixer to separate each channel to each speaker. Thanks for watching the video, consider subscribing to see more!

    Nice review! Please, I have two questions: This speaker has only SBC bluetooth codec. You think this fact compromises the quality sound? And I'd like to connect my Samsung Galaxy A 2019 using the RCA 3,5 mm cable. So, I'd like to know if you noticed some kind of hum or noise in this connection. Thanks so much!

    • @RichardTech

    • @RichardTech

    I caned a Marshall Stanmore speaker. Would this equal it in deep rich bass and clear mids..?
    I listen to mainly bass orientated music. And I find that many brands overlook this aspect of music.
    Does one truly know what it feels like to hear reverb ant low volume nowaday with the the plastic fantastic products flooding the market..?
    I would be led to believe that 99 pounds is cheap and as such, you get what you pay for.

      @@RichardTech awesome, do you recommend the 1280DBs or the 1700BTs over this? Or is it the bang for the buck?

    • @RichardTech
      @RichardTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't been able to try the 1700BT, but I have tried the 1280DB in the past. If you're going to be fairly close to the speaker I would go with the 1280DB as you will get better stereo sound in comparison to the D12 as the 1280DB are two separate speaker units, but if the speaker is going to be across the room the D12 should be just fine and does have the advantage of being a single unit and therefore more compact.

    You can Pair 2 edifier D12 for a stereo sound?

    • @RichardTech
      @RichardTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure if this is possible as the speakers cannot be wirelessly paired, but you may be able to use the Line Out to connect it to another Edifier D12 (maybe check this with Edifier?). It is worth noting that the speaker is stereo thanks to its driver configuration. Thanks for watching the review, if you found the video useful please consider subscribing!

      I have a review of the R1280DB which you may find useful th-cam.com/video/3ADwF9gidOU/w-d-xo.html. I do think the R1280DB sound a little better, but the D12 has the advantage of being in a single unit. Thanks for watching the review, if you found the video useful please consider subscribing!
