    I was fine when you scratched the bonnet....I was like 'Yeah, big deal...very light scratches...blah blah blah'. And then you went at the side mirror... and I had my hand over my mouth in shock!!! 'Jesus, stop scraping the mirror!!! Are you mad. OMG the damage you are doing....Oh no he's doing more!!!! When will the madness end!'.... And then you just poured hot water over it! Bloody Awesome! Great video...Great demonstration. Thank you!

      I was genuinely scared of the bonnet test 😂
      But all was fine.

    My new i3S is in the shop ( not your shop sorry 😢) getting XPEL PPF applied to the front end at the moment . My old i3 had so many stone chips and I wanted to keep this new one nice, I’m glad to see this demonstration - looks great!

    Great video. Really amazing effect. Sadly your shop is a bit far away from south germany. I get a new model M3P in Grey Metallic in 2 weeks. Probably look to do PPF to mine as well here in Germany. Enjoy watching your videos.

    Nice 👌 thanks for another great update video mite look at getting this done as ceramic coated 3 is no good to stop stone chips we had some on way home 😱😡😓

    The material is quite cheap, it’s plastic transparent foul. So first one is a lie!
    Second the labor is expensive as it takes many hours to finish details cutting so it isn’t visible to make it look perfect. I think car industry should adopt this in factory.

    • @RSEV
      @RSEV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I'm not sure where you get your material from but it's not cheap. And we mentioned it's very labour intensive and that's why this doesn't come cheap. We'll make a video to show that. We use Xpel PPF. Not sure why all your comments on our videos are negative. You are more than welcome to come visit us when the lockdown has ended and see for yourself. We've been doing this for quite a few years now and our reputation is well known in UK. Have a lovely day!

    PPF or Vinyl is the question....

      How much did the PPF and ceramic cost Richard?

  • @bromide999
    @bromide999 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The PPF is self healing but wouldn’t you have taken the ceramic coating off in those areas?

    • @RSEV
      @RSEV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably not ideal but the principal of the scratch was to test the ppf.
      It all looks absolutely awesome again now afterwards so it must melt or morf with the ppf. It’s a different product for the ppf areas... but other than that. It’s all magical wizardry 💁‍♂️

  • @BadTomzi

    Is this like Xpel ultimate plus? Unbelievable.

  • @TheAnqueetas
    @TheAnqueetas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So the ceramic coating is on top of the ppf, so when it is scratched, does this remove the ceramic coating on top?

  • @DarkFreedomGaming3812
    @DarkFreedomGaming3812 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you say you didn't PPF/ceramic the whole car (left out the doors). Doesn't that create differential finish? How much for whole car (M3)?

  • @segelburgess2136
    @segelburgess2136 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Whats the average cost to install PPF though?

  • @sunindragupta9236
    @sunindragupta9236 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    By pouring hot water does that thin the film, as it stretched to some degree when applied.

    • @RSEV
      @RSEV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The film is not stretched when applied. This is not applied in the same way as a vinyl wrap. It doesn’t thin the film at all 👍

  • @allenfazer
    @allenfazer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Car looks amazing, what was the paint thickness like on this new 2021 model, paint was really thin on older models

    • @RSEV
      @RSEV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just as thin. In 500 miles I was starting to get chips despite being very cautious so this is especially important on the side sills in my opinion

      @@RSEV Thanks I'm receiving my red model 3 in early February, so good to know, get it protected earlier on, are there any particular colours that have thicker or better quality paint or are they all the same? I have heard the multi coat paints have better paint is this just a myth? Thanks again

    • @RSEV
      @RSEV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@allenfazer the red on the model 3 with no chrome looks fantastic I think. I almost went for it. It’s more resilient too, but all Tesla paint (and many other manufacturers) seems more fragile now.
      Red is hardest to ever do paint repairs on.

    • @allenfazer
      @allenfazer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RSEV Thanks for the advise, yeah the red with the new black chrome delete looks great, I do detailing on my cars as a hobby, I'm going to give the car a full polish and cover in Car Pro UK edition 3.0 I would like to do a PPF wrap in the areas same as your car but Its just too expensive so I'll just have to hope for the best, thanks again for the advise and keep up the great videos 👍

    Hi there,
    New to Teslas. There is a rumor that because of low quality paint it is sometimes problematic to remove the ppf from the car, any truth to that?

      You can get many colours just as a vehicle wrap.

  • @RossMalin
    @RossMalin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    As a rough cost how much would that cost on my my MR LR?

    • @RSEV
      @RSEV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Depends how much required for paint correction and what level of ceramic coating but can be c. £2,500 for such a job - ppf and ceramic

    • @gotamd
      @gotamd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RSEV that is very odd. Maybe it's a UK thing. My 2021 3 in the US has two reverse lights.

    • @RSEV

      @@gotamd do you have a rear fog light? That’s what uses the other side

    • @gotamd
      @gotamd 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RSEV I don't believe so. I don't believe rear fog lights are required in the US, so we don't have one and instead have two reverse lights. It looks like this was Tesla's "solution" for the UK (and other areas that require a rear fog light.

    • @markharris8929

      It’s pretty common solution. My recently sold STi Impreza was the same.
