Bullish or bearish, AI stocks will still dominate 2024, even beyond. Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long-term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA. As a car reviewer it’s important to be completely unbiased and unfortunately this comes across like your opinion (and a few strange jabs at Tesla) was bought by ford with a free long term loaner. Just doesn’t pass the pub test IMHO. I do respect that you came out and mentioned this though, as you could have easily kept silent about (or did Ford insist you say something as part of their marketing strategy?).

@@CarExpertAusI had a novated lease for 3 years. I had a brand new Subaru BRZ. After 12 months I asked what the exit payout would be, they said $59,000. The car new was only $44,000.
The GST-free is a scam because the lease company just piles fees on that equate to the GST cost anyway.
There is a convenience about having a lease and not needing to budget separately for running costs however ironically it comes at a price.
I did a quick spreadsheet over my 3 year lease noting a 12.5% interest and worked out I was actually worse off. I had paid $46,000 just towards the car with a balloon payment remaining of $19,000. The tax saving was negligible.
Novated leases trap you in for the time period, heaven forbid if you situation changes like changing jobs or young children come along, etc.
In summary, I would avoid a lease at all costs.

I really dont understand why people have an issue with Tesla's Speedo location. My wife is 61 and I'm 65, we've done 40000 klms in our two Model 3'S and seeing the Speedo has never been an issue. If the Speedo is in the instrument in front of the steering wheel you glance down. With the Tesla you glance left. No issue. Sure with HUD it's in your line of sight and you don't have to glance down or left however I remember test driving a Golf 8 with a HUD and the Speedo was so in my face it was distracting me from focusing on the road. Another point to make is with autopilot on the car stays dead on the speed it's set at so as long as it's not set higher then the speed limit I don't even have to glance at it.

    • @ennael81
      @ennael81 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

😂 I agreed. I think it’s because they want to speed but don’t want to get caught speeding so they blame the location of the speedo. I go over sometimes and at the end of the day if I got ticketed, I’ll take it on the chin. Most of the time I put the cruise control on so I don’t have to worry about looking at the speedo. Easy fix!

    • @trythis2821

When I drive Tesla's don't have an issue with looking at the speedo on the screen. As the speed is displayed closet to the steering wheel, so not looking far to see it. Older Toyota Yaris had the speed displayed in the center of the car and that has never been an issue for me either. I think a lot of criticism and apprehension comes from people that haven't test driven them. Things like being one of the fastest cars on the road (if that is your thing) make up for these small nuisances.

I’m trying to get my story out to those who are considering buying a Tesla. If one has never been through this experience before it can be pretty straightforward or a confusing mess. My wife and I went to Long Beach to pick up our leased Tesla but once they showed us the vehicle it was in terrible condition. They attempted to clean up the vehicle paint issues but what we didn’t know right away was that the delivery center doesn’t have water available to detail the vehicles. What they showed us on their second attempt was worse than the first attempt. The rep/sales man said they could just do a VIN swap but we would have to wait a few hours (scheduled us for the last appointment for the day). The second Model Y wasn’t really any better but we were told we can just sumbit a service appointment to get the issues addressed. So we said OK. That service appointment for a brand new car was two weeks.
Well the main issue is that when they cancelled the first set of lease documents and created the new set of documents the monthly lease payment went up $90 per month compared to the first car we were supposed to get. Keep in mind the vehicles were literally identical; same color, same options, same mileage, same year, same wheels,, same down payment, same lease terms, same day. Everything was idenitcal including the sales price and all associated discounts. When we asked why the monthly payment was different the sales rep stated he wasn’t able to pull the first set of lease documents after it was cancled and that we could only see the second set of lease documents. I also pulled up my Tesla account and could only see the second set of lease documents. I ended up calling Ally Auto (the lender) because they had me listed with two accounts for those two leased vehicles. Well that was no good. And also they stated they didn’t have the different lease documents, actually they told me they didn’t have any of the lease documents. I was told i had to get that from Tesla Finance. I was finally able to get both sets of lease documents from Tesla Finance but they told me it was outside of their lane and that i would have to talk to the delivery center. i did that but they kept going back to the lender. A total circle jerk.
What happened is that the residual value of the second model Y was more than $3,000 less than the original car. Please keep in mind that i signed both sets of lease documents on both of the exact same vehicles on the same day within just a couple of hours of each other. When i asked what the differences were they couldn’t tell me because the delivery center sales rep stated he didn’t have access to the lease he just canceled. I was only able to compare the documents a couple of weeks later after Tesla Finance sent me the two sets of documents (even getting those documents took me more than two weeks, several phone calls, and several emails). The purchase price of the two cars was the same, the down payment was the same, everything should have been the same but they are now charging me more than $3000 more for the exact same car signed for on the exact same day. This feels underhanded and more like a bait and switch or a criminal act. The sales rep that day told us that 5 different people refused delivery of their expected car because of how poorly those cars were prepared. I can only imagine this same screw up with their paperwork occured with them as well. Now i can’t say they were all leased deals but if they were that would quite possibly mean that delivery center scored and extra $15000 or more by those of us who ended up having to have their lease papers redone for a different car. Sounds pretty lucrative if you ask me.
This situation is not cool, criminal is how i feel. I’m still trying to get resolution on this but am really losing any hope in being able to do so. I am going to post my story everywhere i can in hopes of esnuring this does not happen to anyone else. i know i can’t be the only one who got scammed by Tesla. I don’t type that lightly. I feel scammed.

I just don’t understand why anyone would buy a car from another manufacturer that may drive well, but that is far inferior in terms of software, and which is made by a company who has no hope of making a profitable EV…ever! Insane to be ordering a Y now when the refresh should be available in the next 6 months. The ride will be vastly improved. I'm guessing that's the real reason the order was cancelled. Also, multi schedule charging has been available for about 4 weeks.

Hey Paul, I’m a long time follower. I’d like to be honest with you, hope you appreciate my honesty from a loyal follower point of view. I don’t think it’s wrong to choose another brand of EV. I myself have crossed my mind to change to another brand of EV when it’s time to upgrade. I might look at Polestar or Mach E or KIA, etc as we know more EVs are coming into the market which is great! I was so looking forward to learning anything new you’ve found about the Tesla Y with the title of this video. I agree with you, broadening our horizon on EV ownership is a good idea but disappointingly you asked Ford for a free EV to drive for a limited time. I think you’ve lost the essence of what makes you different to other car reviewers as I remember you bought the Y and then started telling us how you dislike somethings from an owner perspective. That’s what we love about you. You own the car and tell it like it is. I acknowledged that you’ve said you remained impartial but it’s really hard not to overlook the fact that you’ve been given a car to drive. Wouldn’t you agree it’s a little disappointing? We don’t know what the deal you’ve made and we don’t want to think you’re not honest, I do believe you’re honest about your opinion, but it still disappoints me as your loyal follower. I hope you get my point without being upset. I don’t want to upset you. I want you to know I appreciate your honest reviews of cars, ICE or EV. I will still look forward to another car review :)

Any EV is going to have precipitous depreciation because they're evolving so quickly that each new model brutally undercuts the value of the old model. The only way to get the full value of your EV is to keep it until it's no longer viable to own.
This will be exactly the same for the Ford Mach-e, so expect to lose a load of money on that too. Much as I would love to have an EV, there's just no economic case for people like me who buy high mileage cars and repair them themselves. Just the price of a new tyre (£270 for a Model Y) is enough to put me off, when mine currently cost me £60.

If you really delve into what a novated lease entails, it's a total rip-off. Don't let them bamboozle you into thinking you're getting great tax benefits! Whatever tax benefits you are getting, they are getting negated by the exorbitant interest rate you are paying. They don't tell you that, but when I did my maths back in the day while researching novated leaases, and I asked if the interest factored in was actuatly 12.89%, Maxxia confirmed it!! There are also other factors to consider, so do your homework and do your maths!

@@mattfm6329 My credit score is excellent. The 12.89% was based on no negatively impacting financial factors. It would have been cheaper to access a redraw or an off-set account to get a better interest rate, or better yet, pay cash which is what I ended up doing.
