  • Quicksilver exhaust fitted to supercharged Jaguar F-Pace S. Video shot on iPad so doesn't really do justice to the awesome sound.
    Before anyone says, I let the engine warm up by driving it around before revving the engine! This is why the video jumps as I had to drive it in and out of the garage.
    Apologies for the terrible editing!

    I just placed an order for my Quicksilver exhaust for my F-Pace. Very excited for its arrival and installation.

    Do you ever get a little smoke when it’s cold outside? Also, in my LR4 SCV6 the idle speed fluctuates slightly sometimes and starts doing this rough idle at 590-610rpm. What does yours idle at?

      It's just steam buddy, don't worry. That's why you see it on cold mornings. Our XE S puts out lots of steam in the winter ☺️👍🏻

      V88 Dicky yeah mine is smoke I think. It smells and looks like smoke.

      @@fields1 Well I hope you get it sorted mate. I've never heard of one of these engines smoking before, they're pretty robust if maintained properly

      V88 Dicky I had to replace the fuel injectors at 65K miles, just 4K miles ago. I bought this thing second hand but it only had ~20K miles on it when I got it. I’ve always done early oil changes and used premium fuel. The engine has never been what I’d call a smooth idler. The idle speed fluctuates and it seems like it’s very sensitive to any high load being drawn at idle. When the air compressor kicks in the revs fall below 600rpm and it feels very rough. Same thing happens when you engage reverse. It almost feels like it might stall, but it never has. I think many people with 2014-2016 LR4s find this engine to be a bad replacement for the older 5.0L. Besides the injectors, I’ve got the supercharger isolator rattle that needs to be fixed now too. I wish the dealer had done it while they had the supercharger off the engine to replace the injectors but I was so consumed with that issue I forgot to mention the isolator rattle. I much preferred the old 5.0L NA V8 to the SCV6. The V8 sounds a lot better, pulled much harder and actually got better fuel economy and was as smooth as silk. The SCV6 feels underpowered unless you’re winding it out which isn’t really fitting for a big bruiser like the LR4 that weighs 6000lbs and needs all the torque it can get to lug a trailer or crawling off road.

    Did you try any other exhaust systems?
    Can you post up more videos of you driving around inside and outside sound please?
    I have a fpace S also and was looking at changing exhaust
    Also a video showing how it sounds in normal and dynamic mode would be great!!

      Hey Johnny. I wasn't able to try any other systems out - as far as I know, Quicksilver were the first to produce one for the F-Pace.
      I'll definitely try to capture some more video from inside the cabin, and in normal and dynamic, but sadly I don't think I'll be able to do justice to how good it sounds on my iPhone.

    Was it in sport mode the whole time?

    • @SplitComms
      @SplitComms  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think so. I tend to always put it in sport mode. I didn't really capture the revs properly, but it definitely pops a lot more with the quicksilver. Not sure that really comes across properly.

    Does the system void the warranty?

    • @SplitComms
      @SplitComms  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nope. When I took it into the dealership they said they really liked it and even adjusted it for me so the pipes were properly centered. It's only the rear section, not a full replacement.

      Nice. You won't regret it. Doesn't drive like an SUV, more like a sports sedan.
