I got Invisalign for myself when I turned 57. It was totally cosmetic for my own vanity and I don't regret the decision one bit. Though my teeth weren't that misaligned, I hated smiling open mouthed. Now I'm all smiles!
My reason was similar to yours. I had braces as a teenager but neglected to wear my retainer for the rest of my life. In my mid 40s I developed a tooth turning sideways. I wore my aligners for 5 months and remember to wear my retainer!
Self improvement is always a good investment. I like your video, interesting insights, but here's some perspective... - Why do people go to the gym if they're within healthy weight boundaries? - Why do people buy nice clothes if they can get cheaper ones that do the job? - Why do people wear makeup, if it has no direct, primary benefit to the user? Simple... most men and women alive, have a desire to maximise their potential aesthetically. For reasons of self-improvement / health, vanity or attraction of others. It's ultimately always for these reasons. If someone had say, 5,000 dollars to spend. Should they go for Invisalign, or a hair-transplant, or a new car? Well their teeth, hairline and existing car may all be bad, but which does one focus on? Do they care about their appearance or something they can "use". So I get the whole body-positive notion, which is completely fair, but humans are competitive. And when it comes to appearance, this has direct impacts on our success; romantically, health-wise, and even economically to be honest.
I got Invisalign in2020, and I had a very positive experience. Yes, every time I got a new tray, it did hurt for several days. But that's how they work -- the trays put pressure on the teeth to gradually move them into place. Cleaning and brushing the trays every few days to get the plaque off was essential. There's nothing worse than a funky tray. I had a huge gap between my teeth, several crowded teeth that were getting pushed back, and some teeth that were straight but were so tight I couldn't floss them. It took a year of Invisalign to fix it and I've never been happier with my smile. I still wear my retainers at night to keep the teeth from wandering around. In case you're wondering, my treatment was just under 6K.
This video came out at a good time for me! I went to a new dentist for the first time in years and in the first visit, the dentist mentioned Invisalign. I went back a couple of weeks later for a filling, and the dentist that did the procedure mentioned it again. They did explain the potential long term benefits of some sort of orthodontic treatment for my bottom teeth due to crowding, but it didn't sit well with me when they mentioned Invisalign during both visits.
Glad the timing worked out! Love it when that happens. Yeah, I had a similar feeling when dentists offered teeth whitening too many times. I want to believe they always have our best interest at heart, but sometimes the pressure just doesn’t feel right. Which is why we’re out here exploring this stuff! Knowledge is power 💪🏽 Thanks for tuning in! ♥️Sher
Oof, as Invisalign user for last 5 month, I see so many things not being mentioned here... And yeah, I'm doing it for mostly cosmetic reasons & it makes me smile more already, BUT: - there's no "maybe" for putting on the attachments - they are needed to create pull force in the right direction. So for the first couple months it hurts with both aligners being on and off as those attachments are pretty sharp at first. They can also be very prominent in shape, so if someone is standing close to you, they can notice your "bubble wrap teeth" - you might need to wear tension rubber bands as well. Which means literal metal hooks glued to your teeth & rubber band stretching between your jaws. I'm lucky to get only one, but I've seen examples where you can play a guitar on the side of your teeth. - you get scarring with aligners as well. At times, it's new scars on weekly basis when you change to new set. I have it not only on cheeks, but also on the sides of tongue, which means even garlic feels spicy. - you need to do scans with your smartphone every week. And then the doctor on other end can say that you need to wear current set a bit longer which extends your predicted wearing time. - that 3D mapping they're doing costs a fortune already. So when they say "here's your predicted result, now you can decide whether you want aligners" & you're ~25% cost in already - that's not a totally unbiased decision - you can get a temporary lisp. Mine is still there 5 months in :(( - getting them on & off when traveling or during events is a bummer. Food gets stuck on attachments and you do need to brush every time before putting aligners back on. - no popcorn, to toffee, no crunchy foods - they can crack your attachments off. And you can't eat whole carrots or apples as your teeth get more sensitive. So food consumption convenience is a big lie - you also can drink only clear drinks with them. Coffee, tee, juice, smoothie - take them out (((( Straws might help sometimes though I went to several orthodontists before to make sure I'm making the right decision and turned out I even needed a small surgery before. So so far it seems uncomfortable, yet still worth it. But it's SO MUCH far from all sunshine and rainbows their marketing is projecting
Thank you for giving a mention to orthotropics towards the end. It's strange how we find prehistoric evidence of straight teeth, yet find it a challenge in modern times.
I think orthotropics offers some really useful and practical approaches in prevention. Most of the info I know is at the early childhood/adolescent levels though. Not sure if you knew of how useful orthotropics is for adults?
I got Invisalign a few years ago and it was a great decision. I went with a Black Diamond partner which is their top tier and they passed the cost savings down to me. I'm glad I didn't go through the braces route and it was pain-free.
I was offered braces as a kid, around age ten, in the early/mid 90s because I have a gap between my two front teeth and a VERY slight overbite. I point blank asked the dentist if it’s because I have a serious problem that will affect my eating/cleaning or just to make them look pretty. He was pretty taken back and said the later. I told him nope, I like my teeth, Madonna has a gap and I than won’t be able to play my clarinet. Mom looked at me, looked at the dentist and said “she says no, so nope”
My spouse has Invisalign and it’s definitely not as easy as this video made it seem. He has to switch to a new Invisalign retainer tray every two weeks so he’s constantly in low grade pain; admittedly, braces also hurt. However, that comment about being able to eat toffee with the trays out is very unlikely. The glue they put on your teeth to interface with the trays can get dislodged if you’re not careful or if you eat something of the wrong texture.
Hey! Thanks for sharing this. That’s great to know. Braces hurt like hell, but only for a couple days after the tightening. Constant low grade pain doesn’t sound like much fun at all. Hope he’s having an otherwise great tooth straightening journey! Thanks for watching and sharing your experience 😊♥️ Sher
@@FutureProofHealth I had some major pain only for the first few times I had to switch retainers, after that I felt okay for the most part. I also started switching my trays after dinner at night the day before I actually had to switch so they'd sit through the night and that way it wouldn't hurt as much after I took them off in the morning compared to putting them in and removing them just few hours after when I'd eat my breakfast.
Best advice, always get a second opinion on your dental scans and xrays. Any dental work can cause weakness and damage to your teeth. It’s surprisingly common to need periodontal and endodontic work following braces or retainer treatments
I had my teeth straightened for cosmetic reasons because people are shallow and will judge people based on pointless things like teeth. Invisiline was exactly the same cost as bracers at my orthodontist however resulted in far less followup appointments and issues with poor fit compared my friends experiences with braces. Frankly the only negative I have is taking them out in public is gross but I think most people don't really care anymore.
I had braces as a kid. Super over bite, big gap in the front, and I've had 6 teeth removed. As a kid I had no idea it wasnt the ideal. I didn't want braces, which were on for like 4 years, but im glad I did get it done. My niece now has invisalign. I'm not sure if there's a medical reason, like crowding, or a massive over bite, but I know she's been self conscious about her smile since she was about 7 or 8. She wouldn't smile. Now she's smiling more. That's worth it. When I needed dental work a few years ago I wouldn't smile either. I didn't like how it looked and I was self conscious. Saved up and got it fixed. I think if the cosmetics of it makes you feel better, and you can afford it, go for it.
I got invisalign at 32 because I had super crowded teeth and a overjet (front row being too far ahead than below row) and I am so thankful for it! It not only makes me feel super confident in how I look and also sort of "erases" the taunts and programming from childhood that I had big teeth. I never liked my own photos no matter how happy I was. I just this girl with big teeth. I had braces twice and after both of it, my teeth relapsed real fast. Invisalign moves my teeth slowly but more permanently and I am very very religious in wearing them (at least the first 39 of them which were moving my teeth very aggressively). I always wanted to feel confident in my youthful looks but due to the teeth, i never felt like I could.
A couple of years back I had some neck pain. During the investigation of what's causing it, I was sent to a manual therapist. I know a lot of people say that manual therapists are useless, but mine definitely knew about some non-obvios connections between muscles, and was able to determine, that under certain circumstances my jaw was pushing against a nerve, that did not only result in the stiffness, but also "disabled" nerves across the left side of the body. Or more correctly it obstructed the signals, which resulted in some resistance tests failing. Since this was linked to jaw, he sent me to a dentist. The dentist in the same clinic did some x-rays and got molds of my jaws and stuff and started saying, that I need to use a set of retainers (bracers to be exact) for the next 2-3 years with astronomical cost (do not remember exactly how much, and it was in rubles any way). She explained why and everything and it all sounded plausible, but something was telling me, there is a catch there. And there was. I went to one of my local dentists, this one also did the same x-rays and molds and stuff. Then she spent quite a lot of time placing her fingers in different places around my jaw, both outside and inside my mouth, while also closing and opening it manually. Her conclusion was that I did not have any significant misalignments, my bite was absolutely normal, but there was, indeed, tension in the left TMJ muscle on the left, and what can help is using a plastic retainer specifically designed for helping with TMJ issues. I still overpaid, since I paid like 25k rubles, and the retainer, as it turned out was not custom and it cost like 3k, but it was still literal hundreds times cheaper than what was the other dentist trying to sell me. And it did work while I had to wear it only at night and ideally 1 hour during the day. If you add low maintenance of just cleaning it under water after every use and periodically brushing it with toothpaste - it's night and day in comparisson.
Used to go to a private dentist who always try to upsell services, including braces. Every visit, they tell me how it is necessary to make my teeth easier to clean for me at home despite saying how well I had clean them at the start of every visit. I was a teenager at the time, so very evil for them to say how much better I would feel about my smile after getting braces. Switched to a public dentist because of insurance issue, they only asked about how comfortable I am with my teeth the way it is and if I am having issues, talked about braces and its benefits once during my first visit and another time when a different dentist was checking up on me, that's it. They deemed braces is ultimately optional since I am comfortable with how my teeth are and they aren't causing me any issues.
I had pretty bad crowding that caused a lot of problems brushing my teeth. I ended up getting all my wisdom teeth removed and 4 more teeth removed before getting braces as an adult. 2 years of braces, then invisalign as a retainer.
Ive had braces as a kid, and i had issues with my retainer (Dog chewed them like twice) so in the process of waiting to get a new mold and new retainer a single tooth shifted in my bottom row, this sole tooth is the only reason I want invisalign, its just so noticeable.
Same thing happened to my Mom! She did braces and then Invisalign as a “touch up”. It’s a great option to have, especially for those little “fixes”. Thanks for watching 🙌🏽♥️Sher
I had invisalign in my early 20s because of my deep bite. I was recommended braces as a teenager but didn't do it because of the cost and my own anxiety. I knew invisalign was more expensive but it was less scary than getting braces so I waited until I could afford them myself. I wish I'd gotten my overbite treated sooner because it caused issues with my TMJ. I also grind my teeth at night which causes other issues. My crowding wasn't that bad, so I'd like to think that my case was necessary moreso than cosmetic.
I had to get Invisalign because my parents failed to get my severely impacted teeth straightened when I was a child, and now as an adult, the bottom teeth are bullying the upper teeth and loosening them up, making it likely I lose my teeth prematurely. There are short term fixes, but the long term was simply straightening the teeth. I don't really think cosmetic is simply the only reason, even though some impacted teeth are unsightly. It's just near-sighted to assume that.
One procedure you didn't mention is a palate expander. This is another powerful tool for helping with crowding and also crossbite. I had a palate expander, partial braces, and invisalign due to severe crowding and crossbite. The crowding is definitely genetic, but the crossbite formed from my childhood habits.
It's totally different in Europe nowadays. To get Invisalign I had to go to a private dental clinic by myself. Later, my "normall" dentist acusotary asked me why I had chosen Invisalign as they are promoting (and get paid for) old type of aligners 😅 💰 Btw I'm very happy with Invisalign, but it's like 4 times more expensive then the old type of aligners 😢
I JUST got my aligners this morning when this video posted! I'm fortunate that neither my dentist nor my orthodontist encouraged or marketed them to me. I had braces as a teen because of my overcrowded teeth and didn't keep up with my retainer, so my teeth shifted to the point that I decided to go for it. My orthodontist would agree with your points here, and at the end of the day it's up to us to decide what is important to put our time and money towards. Great video!
I was an “older patient” with crowded overlapping lower incisors. I was ashamed to smile or talk and I was in danger of losing those teeth because I couldn’t brush them properly. My dental insurance didn’t cover getting them straightened so it was all out of pocket. It took longer than promised (nearly 18 months vs 6 months) but it was worth it. I wouldn’t do braces in my case because I still remember a high school classmate returning from her trips to the orthodontist with tears rolling down her cheeks from the pain.
Thank you so much for another great video! My teeth are not straight and I love them. Every time a dental professional suggests Invisalign I ask them if my teeth aren’t good enough as they are and they backtrack and apologize 😅
let's not also forget that you will never get the chance to 'unwear' it. You will always have to wear them once in a while for the rest of your life. Sacrificing that freedom to make some people's teeths 10% better might not seems as a good deal. It's a case by case scenario.
Invisalign didn't invent smile insecurity. Before orthodontics, my great grandmother had all her teeth pulled out when she was still young because she thought dentures would be better than her crooked teeth.
The Invisalign almost always seems to require the attachments. Otherwise there’s almost nothing for the alligners to grip onto. Cuz your teeth are basically smooth and uniform. I still have my alligners but without the glue brackets I can’t reuse them because there’s nothing to grip the trays to my teeth to re adjust them (after the whole course is over). Also ED warning. Invisalign restarted a decade long ED I have. The inability to freely eat without brushing after meant that I stopped eating enough.
oh, eating disorder. i was thinking of the other ED. 😅 i was thinking "what does that have to do with dentistry"? 🙃 whoops, my bad. hope things are going better for you.
Had braces as a kid, as an adult I thought my teeth were perfect until my dentist told me they’d shifted and were grinding on each other. Sold me on Invisalign because I wanted to prolong the life of my teeth but then quoted me $6k for a 6 month treatment plan. Found an orthodontist to do it half priced (I learned in this video how she’s able to offer better pricing) and now I’m almost finished with my treatment. My friends and family all thought it was silly but I definitely notice a positive change although it is merely cosmetic…
I just got Invisalign at age 49. My teeth were already straight, but I had a crossbite that was wearing down one side of my teeth. Just fixing something before it's an issue. The first week was weird, but now I'm used to them.
I got traditional braces due to my back molars being flared out too much, causing cheek biting every time I chewed anything, plus it’s less work than the clear ones! For my issue regular braces were best for me as well as shortening my treatment time, plus better results!
I would love to see a continuation with future proof or a follow up to talk about the massive amount of plastic waste generated in landfills from 750,000 one time use retainers being made daily.
I saw a documentary on Invisalign a while back which also demonstrated that it's often prescribed to people who aren't candidates for this. This caused pain and even damaged/broken teeth. I don't know if this still happens. Did this come up in your research?
I had brces as a teen then had a plastic retainer. Then I lost them and found them several months later and my teeth shifted so much they didn't fit! Putting them in at night gave me such a headache I couldn't sleep so I was glad to lose them!
I also lost my top retainer very quickly! Honestly, I have no idea where it went but probably got thrown out in a cafeteria or food court 😂 The good news is my top teeth never shifted. Thanks for joining us here! ♥️Sher
We share the same experience. Had braces when I was little and in my late high school years I lost my retainer on a class field trip and went years without a retainer my bottom frontal 3 teeth became shifted. I had this belief that after a while teeth would just stay put... guess I was wrong.
I never had braces but then because of my bite problems one my teeth broke. I was told that my front teeth were also at risk of breaking so now I have Invisalign and it's really not that bad.
ive finnished invisilign treatment and im now wearing retainers and the only downside to invisilign is that on checkup meetings they sand your teeth down so what they can move more freely
I had to use a retainer when I was 10. I couldn’t say some words, and with my sensory sensitivity, I think it goes without saying that I was not a fan.
TLDR: my teeth are awfully f-ed up and it has taken 8 years of necessary work and over probably 15k to fix heres the rest if you care: My so far 8 years of orthodontal work were necessary I had brackets on my top few molars to straighten them out and sperate them because they were both crooked and I think blocked another tooth from growing in around 2nd grade, 3rd-4th I got a jaw expander on the top to make space, in 5th i got brackets on my molars and the few adult teeth I had aka the front 4 top and bottom, that went on until 7th grade when I started losing more of my baby teeth and I got the first round off then I had about a year break with a retainer while the orthodontist repeatedly didnt refer us to the dentist to get the remaining 5 pulled, this led to 2 oral surgeries one to get 5 teeth out including 1 fused to the jaw and then to pull my front canine teeth that i went several months without down with weights, then full braces once I finally had all my fricking teeth. all of this probably costed over 15k with surgeries included. I dont think invisalign could have done anything for me
Braces genuinely ruined my lower teeth because they didn't take off all of the glue off when removing them, and they were on in such a way that even with the loop I couldn't floss. Would also constantly cut into my lip which I now have an indented scar from. They were necessary for the amount of movement I needed but fuck braces.
I kinda like my somewhat bucked-gapped front teeth and my slightly overpronounced canines that snaggle outward ever so slightly. May not be “pretty” by conventional/most indiscusso standards but it’s still unique enough that it gives my face some character and I like that.
At my job whenever I was about to eat it everyone would be like, "now Eny is going to take out her teeth". And for the year and a half of having them, I went everywhere with a little make up bag with a travel sized tooth paste, a little travel sized electric tooth brush, and floss. I would be at a fancy restaurant brushing my teeth in the bathroom after eating lol I even have a picture of me on a road trip brushing my teeth in the car. However, I wish all that diligence taking care of my invisalign transferred to how I would be with retainers. I wore my retainers for one week and never again...luckily after 5 years they haven't really moved.
"I would be at a fancy restaurant brushing my teeth in the bathroom after eating". Try brushing your teeth in the men's restroom at a sports or biker bar with one sink next to the urinal.
Interesting that you didn't mention that any shifting of teeth causes shorter roots of your teeth.. you can't have your cake and eat it too, and ortho work is no exception.
I went through braces and still have crowding in my mouth. But it's mostly because my gums form shelves on my molars pushing them in. Every two the three year I get them lazered out but they grow back.
I just got mine today cuz i want to improve my smile since i have crowded teeth which made me feel insecure. Im hoping to be consistent to get to the goal
That is a great idea! The more I learn about menopause the more I think we really need to be talking about it more, especially before onset! Thanks for the suggestion. ♥️Sher
dude, please get a removable retainer. they are way better. the "permanent" ones are crap and really easy to break. also, you cant feel if they break. you can also actually clean your teeth with a removable one.
I dunno about another retainer, but I’d happily let this one go. It’s been TWENTY years. In fairness, I probably would have lost or simply given up on something removable. ♥️Sher
Would recommend anyone interested in learning about the natural solutions to problems like crowded teeth, etc mentioned in this video check out the book "Breath" by James Nestor.
Also in the braces as a kid (/teen) camp, though I actually also had my palette expanded twice (one at 7 with a removable retainers, and the second as a teen with my braces and actually glued in), which I'm thinking was actually super helpful, especially for an overcrowded mouth. Thank god I never had to get teeth removed, and they just gave me more room for them all! (also had a slight underbite, so had to get the Herbst appliance too; it was a fun few metal mouth years 😅 But oh boy do I love my smile now!)
THIS!!!! I am all for people doing what they need/desire to improve their health and happiness. But sooooo much of what we do is to “fix” ourselves, and often nothing but getting to the roots and healing those insecurities will actually make us feel how we want to feel. Thanks for watching! ♥️Sher
DO NOT get Invisalign from your DENTIST. Go to a dedicated orthodontist. I painfully learned that Invisalign will do the entire treatment plan for the dentist -- which, trust me -- is not going to be good. I basically had to pay TWICE for Invisalign -- to transfer my treatment to an orthodontist and get my bite right.
My ortho charges the same for Invisalign and braces. You can also switch from Invisalign to braces at no extra cost with him if you can’t or don’t like the aligners.
I really just want my overbite gone from years of thumb sucking. Its purely cosmetic, because my overbite isn't severe its just unaesthetically pleasing and I have microdontia which my teeth are small so having an overbite makes them appear even smaller than if they were straight so after I get them straight I will also get some crowns.
I have very minor gaps in my teeth and was offered braces in high school but decided not to - now years later im second guessing that decision because of the societal pressures 🥲
If the gaps are minor I wouldn't think much about it. Remember you will need to wear the retainer for a very very long time. Just keeping them clean is enough. And imo not with the time and money
The pressure is real these days! Personally, I think the best way to combat all of these ideas of what makes a person “look good”, is to challenge the whole narrative! Embracing ourselves as we are is gonna mitigate a lot of the confusion. If we feel complete, those targeted ads are just gonna slide off of us, rather than make us feel inadequate. Easier said than done for sure, but so worth the journey. And might even save us a few bucks! Ultimately, I support you to do whatever feels good for you! Thanks for joining us here and being part of the convo. ♥️Sher
We all have certain criteria, risks and things we are dealing with, so take this with a grain of salt. My dad had minor gaps. As he aged, those gaps grew to be ginormous. I had no idea he was self conscious but when I look back at photos, I noticed he began to mute his smile. He ended up getting braces in his late 50s. I admit, it was nice to see his beautiful smile again.

If your getting braces, I recommend metal braces. Invisalign to be is not good, unless you use it as a retainer. I only use it as a retainer.

- you also can drink only clear drinks with them. Coffee, tee, juice, smoothie - take them out (((( Straws might help sometimes though

@@FutureProofHealth Pain is minimal, i'd say 2/10 first few days and then 0

This video made me smile. Thank you for straightening out this topic of crooked teeth. See what I did there?
Hahahahah nice! Glad we could get to the bottom of it
Best advice, always get a second opinion on your dental scans and xrays.
My former dentist keeps on pushing this to everyone. My new dentist said I didn’t need it.
Always worth getting a second opinion because ya never know!! Glad you're able to opt out 👍🌞
I had braces as a kid.
You had the works 🙌🏻
Are you satisfied with the result? 😊
I have the same issue! It’s SO NOTICEABLE. Also, my horse teeth are coming back…
I had invisalign in my early 20s because of my deep bite.
Been curious about this for years. Great video. 👍
Thanks for joining us here!!
I had a gap in my front top teeth and crowding on the bottom teeth. Got Invisalign and although it took a long time, it was well worth it imo 🦷
One procedure you didn't mention is a palate expander. This is another powerful tool for helping with crowding and also crossbite. I had a palate expander, partial braces, and invisalign due to severe crowding and crossbite. The crowding is definitely genetic, but the crossbite formed from my childhood habits.
Palate expanders don't work in adults, though.
It's totally different in Europe nowadays. To get Invisalign I had to go to a private dental clinic by myself. Later, my "normall" dentist acusotary asked me why I had chosen Invisalign as they are promoting (and get paid for) old type of aligners 😅 💰
Btw I'm very happy with Invisalign, but it's like 4 times more expensive then the old type of aligners 😢
I have an underbite and my bottom teeth are slightly crooked. If I’m surviving with this, than you’re most likely just fine. It’s all cosmetic lol
let's not also forget that you will never get the chance to 'unwear' it.
You will always have to wear them once in a while for the rest of your life.
Sacrificing that freedom to make some people's teeths 10% better might not seems as a good deal. It's a case by case scenario.
I don't smile with my teeth shown. Checkmate Invisalign.
Invisalign didn't invent smile insecurity. Before orthodontics, my great grandmother had all her teeth pulled out when she was still young because she thought dentures would be better than her crooked teeth.
You did a great job in this video you answered every single question I had
I love this video, but I still recommend braces. I’d rather use Invisalign as a retainer.
Crazy how one of the most intrusive cosmetic procedures is the most common and the one most performed on kids
I saw it everywhere, thanks for the video
I just got Invisalign at age 49. My teeth were already straight, but I had a crossbite that was wearing down one side of my teeth. Just fixing something before it's an issue. The first week was weird, but now I'm used to them.
Most dentists are thieves trying to upsell you on unnecessary procedures just so they can make their Porsche payments. 🙄
Brainwashed 😂
The British liked this video.
Just goes to show a difference in culture and what's societally acceptable in some places vs others ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Braces/aligners are close to free until 18 years old. But culturally there’s less of an emphasis on having cosmetically “right “ teeth
I think braces are free but Invisalign isn’t. So here Invisalign is always a lot more expensive.
I love you for this 🤣
Thank you great video. You are well-prepared for the video.
A very insightful video
Glad you think so! Thanks for joining us here. ♥️Sher
Can you do a video on sinus problems and corrective surgery?
I saw a documentary on Invisalign a while back which also demonstrated that it's often prescribed to people who aren't candidates for this. This caused pain and even damaged/broken teeth. I don't know if this still happens. Did this come up in your research?
I actually didn’t see anything about that! 🤔 That is certainly interesting and somewhat concerning. Thanks for sharing! ♥️Sher
TLDR: my teeth are awfully f-ed up and it has taken 8 years of necessary work and over probably 15k to fix
heres the rest if you care:
My so far 8 years of orthodontal work were necessary I had brackets on my top few molars to straighten them out and sperate them because they were both crooked and I think blocked another tooth from growing in around 2nd grade, 3rd-4th I got a jaw expander on the top to make space, in 5th i got brackets on my molars and the few adult teeth I had aka the front 4 top and bottom, that went on until 7th grade when I started losing more of my baby teeth and I got the first round off then I had about a year break with a retainer while the orthodontist repeatedly didnt refer us to the dentist to get the remaining 5 pulled, this led to 2 oral surgeries one to get 5 teeth out including 1 fused to the jaw and then to pull my front canine teeth that i went several months without down with weights, then full braces once I finally had all my fricking teeth. all of this probably costed over 15k with surgeries included.
Never underestimate the attractive power of over pronounced canines!! I think they’re the coolest 😍😍 lol Thanks for joining us here! ♥️Sher
Im hoping to be consistent to get to the goal
gotta get Invisalign because my jaw is slightly misshapen and it causes me to bite my cheeks causing ulcers because of it. it's not fun😓😓
Could you please do a video about natural treatments for menopause ? Thanks. 😊
That is a great idea! The more I learn about menopause the more I think we really need to be talking about it more, especially before onset! Thanks for the suggestion. ♥️Sher
There’s also Dr Smile
Currently need this!
Thank you so much.
PS
I am on my metal braces.
I needed my bottom jaw pulled forward, so I had braces for like 4 years with springs for like 3 of those... God I hated it...
dude, please get a removable retainer. they are way better. the "permanent" ones are crap and really easy to break. also, you cant feel if they break. you can also actually clean your teeth with a removable one.
I dunno about another retainer, but I’d happily let this one go. It’s been TWENTY years. In fairness, I probably would have lost or simply given up on something removable. ♥️Sher
My teeth are kinda ugly and wonky looking but my wisdom teeth came in when i was 14 with zero issues soooooo
I am 3 minutes in to this video, and i can feel my teeth... WHY CAN I FEEL MY TEETH. TEETH DONT HAVE FEELINGS
Would recommend anyone interested in learning about the natural solutions to problems like crowded teeth, etc mentioned in this video check out the book "Breath" by James Nestor.
Thanks for this reco!! I have been meaning to read that after hearing him speak on a podcast. ♥️Sher
Not all it is cracked up to be. I am senior and rather wear stable braces and get it over with and no problems.
Indians learning about dentist for the first time.
She says with her Colgate smile...
I wish someone had told me that braces can’t fix every insecurity, and they are not at all necessary for most people
