I feel like they are stifling Shane’s creativity at the start! Sending in intro videos = Genius Bungee jumping with snakes = Genius Too Many Jokers = Genius Blue Many Spirits = Genius And before you go “oh this is a Shaniac comment” I believe in ghosts.
I don't get why y'all feel like you need to explain dressing up as the Joker any more than you would explain any of the other themes for the other episodes. I can't imagine anyone being particularly put off or confused by it.
You've obviously been around for a while I think the point was how would it come off to someone discovering the channel for the first time. Which honestly I agree with their point but as a long time fan I'm here for it!
I loved Too Many Jokers! Themes are fun and showcase how demented TMS can get. It’s so all over the place with stories and drinks, it needs a theme to anchor it all together into a cohesive season.
Came here as a Spotify listener to comment about not loving movies or the cinema - I don't even know WHY I don't as I really enjoy books, episodic series, podcasts/audio dramas, plays - pretty much every other form of storytelling, even ones that need focused attention for long periods of time. And when I am watching a movie usually I'm not bored or impatient. It could be that I don't love how I can't control the pacing - books, series, and podcasts I can kind of choose when to pause and pick up at least? Anyway for me what makes going out to a cinema worth it is it being a shared experience. Not even necessarily with the crowd in the theater, but going as a group with friends/family as I don't have a TV at home and 3+ people watching on a laptop can get crowded. Then it becomes a whole outing - movie, snacks, meal before/after, we talk about what we watched together. On the rare occasions that I am interested in a movie by myself, I am perfectly happy to watch it at home alone though.
There are certain movies that are enhanced by seeing it in a theater, not because of the size of the screen, but because they are better as a shared experience. A few relatively recent films that come to mind are ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’, ‘A Quiet Place’, ‘Barbie’, and basically any Marvel movie lol. (Also I love my local Alamo; their preshow is always great and they don’t have 45 minutes of ads beforehand haha. Also the bar is great.)
As a mexican that grew up going to Cinepolis, the food is a must at the cinema I remember getting a subway style sandwich + curly fries and nachos and I love it
dedicated viewer here to say that the more unhinged the better when it comes to too many spirits. particularly obsessed with the joker theme because of this + the fact that each of u was dressed as a different version of him
I would never be able to wear an expensive wedding ring, because of how often I unconsciously take them off and fiddle with them 😩 I've lost so many rings that way.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to season 1, episode 20 of my weekly apartment cleaning. I'm going to clean after revising a lab practical with friends Update: I'm home and I have finished cleaning, but we stayed so late in uni that we got locked in (we luckily found one unlocked door after 15 minutes)
Ok so I’m completely offended. Too Many Jokers has been your best work since the Krampus season. The sweater season was also pretty good. I love that series, and I’m totally done for Blue Many Spirits.
I feel so validated to hear that Steven and I are the same about going to the movies!! I lose interest in movies too fast, I’m never able to get fully comfortable in a movie theater for me to crave going, and I always feel so tired after leaving for some reason. I pretty much have to be invited to the movies or absolutely need to see whatever is showing for me to go to the theater. Honestly though I do wish I could be a movie theater and film lover, maybe one day
1:01:29 my dog does the same thing! She knows “you wanna go bedtime?” And if you say that to her she’ll go FLYIN to her room and tuck herself in (she somehow taught herself how to tuck herself under her blanket)
In case you were wondering, we abolutely love everything that YOU love to do, your ideas, creativity, downright bad jokes lmao and general goofiness are a central part of why we watch you, at least speaking for myself that have been here since BUN days! We love seeing you being your silly goofy selves! Keep it comin' babyyyyy🤪🤪 (also, you guys really pulled the joker looks off, smokin hot)
Yall are way too self conscious and worried about the Too Many Jokers episodes....they're freakin amazing and we LOVE THEM. Hilarious!! We love your weird quirky funny niche stuff okay? Okay. There we go. Love you bye. ❤
Oh my God, who gives a damn about the reason for it that was the most fun. We are here to be entertained. Who else just randomly thinks we’re going to bring this to 1000% and make someone smile. Plus, I thought it was genius that you were all different jokers.
Too many jokers along with many of the other themed bits you guys do are all iconic and i will hear no slander about it. You guys are over-thinking it worse than i over-thought my eyebrow slit in the 10th grade. Keep being dweebs, we like it, we're the same, duh.
for steven's point about going to a movie theater, i go for the reactions of the people i'm with. it's nice hearing my friends/family have fun, and the whole audience laughing to a joke. i watched deadpool and wolverine in theaters, and the amount of fangirling/fanboying in the audience was half the fun!
I love seeing a movie in a theater. Just the communal event, experiencing a movie with a group of people. When the lights go down, you can let your mind settle and lose yourself in the movie. Also movie theater popcorn is the best!
For me I usually go to the movies just for self care and just take a break from school and life. Plus going to the movies by yourself is actually really fun and relaxing
To answer Steven’s question I’m not a huge movie person but I’ll go for an actor I enjoy watching or if the movies about something interesting, especially historically. I usually go on a weekday because it’s cheaper and there are far less people!
There’s this amazing chain of movie theatres in New Zealand called the silver otter and you do it all in an app so you don’t have people coming in to take the order! You only have people coming in to deliver and they’re so quick and quiet!
one, i love that it's steven telling y'all about emailing via text. two, aw that's so cute, i was emailing people via text message with my very first nokia brick phone more than 20 years ago
In my 20s and the majority of my 30s I went to the movies by myself every Sunday morning, and I watched every kind of movie. But after Covid, sitting through a whole movie at the theater is exhausting. I miss how much I used to like it. 🎬
Hello! Coming to let you know that the ink on the stubs doesn't stay because it is a heat process that "stamps" it on there! So they use a special type of roll that when presented with heat activates the specified print. Specifically called a Thermal Receipt Printer. Personally, I prefer the fancier printed out tickets, but find most places have moved to this because ink is expensive and its cost effective.
24:00 if you go to amc you can ask them to print your ticket if u have a qr code and most employees have no problem with it if there’s not a rush - coming from a movie ticket collecting amc employee
love when random topics circle back around to the pod for discussion... i'll never forget shane saying he doesn't want to smell someone eating onion rings while tom hardy's up on screen during some old bfu episode
man talking about college sucks for me. I went to community college and yes the proximity and the community did provide a fun time for me but that all disappeared when i transferred to uni, everyone was competitive, busy with work and school in the last years of college. Graduated and continued this work mentality, can't recognize myself in those years in community.
Speaking of college, those of ya'll that're going/plan on going, enjoy your time there, and try to make friends, but also don't forget to not overwhelm yourself with things like too many clubs, parties, etc.
Ah I think I know which movie theater Ryan's talking about. I like it because the tickets are the same price you'd get at like an AMC while you still get the reclining seats and I feel like it has less people. But, I also remember ordering food before the previews and I got it during the movie.
I personally didn’t care for too many jokers but I’m also of the mindset that modern fandom is a bit too entitled to creators and that not everything a creator does is gonna be a hit with every fan, and that’s ok.
One of the most disappointing things about moving to Edinburgh from Canada was the crap popcorn at cinemas. It’s not fresh, that’ll ask you “sweet or salty” and there’s no butter on it.
good on Shane for holding out until the film starts before digging into the popcorn...I personally get the jumbo bucket and polish off half the tub before the movie actually starts...oops!
There have been a few times where I didn’t realize I ran out of poop bags and loudly announced that I was going to go grab some more in case there was anyone around watching me with my dog. And then, of course, I came back with a poop bag and picked up my dog’s poop. I don’t understand people like Shane described pretending that they’re going to pick up their dog’s poop.

I used to go to the movie theatre a lot with my dad i loved going as a kid but as an adult in 2024 i just cant bring myself to spend $20 on a movie. Id much rather have homemade popcorn and wait another month for it to come out on a streaming service. Idk maybe thats because im young with my parents log ins for streaming services but i have other things i gotta spend my money on before an $80 movie trip. Plus i dont have friends to go with😂
As a Lim Theater Avoider myself, I only go to the theaters for my favorite hero franchise. Or select horror movies. Not really a fan of seeing a mediocre movie and dealing with crowds. But I’ll always go to a Spider-Man showing :)
1:03:09 okay so doing it when you have bags is egregious but once my dog did a piddle poop (like a single drop) and I was like 18 and I was like oh it’s okay it’s barely anything and a man who saw it got in his car and drove around to find me and curse me out about it. Now I’m paranoid and get so much anxiety when I run out of bags midway through the walk and she poops I like do kinda make a show of “fuck me I don’t have bags” so no one does that again 😭
Steven, as a certified card carrying movie hater… the only thing that gets me to the movie theater is if a friend really cares about the movie. Sharing in their joy makes the movie going experience tolerable.
The dressing up is integral to Too Many Spirits, the Jokers were a hit and you were even featured on Joker Cringe
I feel like they are stifling Shane’s creativity at the start!

@@SamanthaCSmith-z8z been around since buzzfeed i was annoyed. I still watched it but one of my least favorites.
I loved Too Many Jokers! Very funny. I love how many wrinkles the Too Many Spirits seasons have gotten as they've gone along.
Matt is like a kindergarten teacher trying to explain shapes as he tries to explain the rules of this pentagram totem.
Congrats to Shane Madej for finally being featured on the podcast along with his twin brother, Shane Madej
😭😭😭 I’m weak
I live for Shane’s adlibs during the intro 😂
I adore the costumed/themed TMS episodes! Please continue doing them 💕 Also Steven wanting Roti Canai to summon him from death is so real
I loved Too Many Jokers! Themes are fun and showcase how demented TMS can get. It’s so all over the place with stories and drinks, it needs a theme to anchor it all together into a cohesive season.
29:57 Shane’s reaction to the call is the physical representation of the anxiety I feel anytime someone calls me 😅
Mood lmao “should we take this?!?!” 😂
And I LOVE having Matty more involved in the show
I LOVED the joker episodes. I JUST got into too many spirits and those were my first episodes!! Please continue having fun with your concepts!!
I love "Too Many Jokers"! I love every "Too Many Spirits" too.
That's too many toos!
Idk I love that Ryan was so committed to keeping people safe and would drive people home that’s so sweet
Is your pfp CallMeKevin’s Oblivion character??? That was an unexpected joy to see lol
I also love the goofy TMS seasons. I really enjoy the unhinged energy lmao

About wedding rings, Shane: "Who takes it off?!?" Shane promptly takes off ring and looks at it.
I would never be able to wear an expensive wedding ring, because of how often I unconsciously take them off and fiddle with them 😩 I've lost so many rings that way.

laughing at Matt's disclaimers in the beginning 😂

I'll be honest Steven is the most relatable of the three of them.
Not Matt accidentally crediting Steven as Shane in the intro 😭💀

they're watching that movie in a car! 100/10 throwback

Omg Shane I love the Christmas corona commercial lol
Too Many Jokers is great.

The Corona Christmas commercial is so nostalgic ♥
