"I like to... assume that all human beings are - deep down, hopefully - there's a shred of decency in them, and that was not the case at the Costco in Glendale." - Shane Madej, traumatized, 2023
For some reason now I imagine every single Costco employee as a devil in disquise and the place as a whole as a cover up for the employees stealing human souls.
@RezSkel it's sort of a slang term that's used often, like in these situations, it's generally a positive, even if the dictionary definition of petty is bad, a lot of people use it in a complimentary way,
I love how Steven jumped to "what if Bigfoot lives underwater sometimes" and not "what if Bigfoot lives in higher elevations where people don't go often" lollll
Shane had the ultimate display of midwestern pettiness. Angry enough to not complete a purchase, but still polite enough to not create more work for the employees haha
You're probably thinking of a ghille suit. Actually, it just looks like a guy in camo clothes. Right at the beginning of the clip, when he turns you can see the separation of the jacket from the pants (dark horizontal line) and later there is a shadow on the upper part of the face/head from the jacket hood.

No way there are large primates wandering around North America in secret. Every time I see large cryptids my first questions are always, well what are they eating to maintain that body mass? And then, if there’s only a few, what about genetic variation issues, inbreeding, genetic drift? I’m super fun at parties… 😅
When I was 18 I went by myself to get my septum pierced. It was crooked as hell and I took it out as soon as I left. So add that to the list of people you don't want to hear "oh shit" from.
To Shane's question about the "why 30 seconds?" It's because there is short term memory that is temporarily stored to help with small fluctuations in power. So, if you unplug it and plug it back in immediately, it could still have the same "settings" that are causing the issue. I think it's more like 2-10 seconds, but they say 30 seconds (I guess for people who count too fast?).
The couple of things Steven has shared about his relationship sound so healthy and kind. It’s very refreshing to hear and it’s super sweet! Good for them 🩷

I actually was working for the special effects shop that created the prop to make footprints for Survivor Man's bigfoot special. He used our foot prop to make tracks somewhere in the San Bernardino mountains to trick viewers until the end of the special. This was back in 2015. Yeah, I'm on Shane's side on this. His point was valid. Saying Big Foot is more plausible due to "bones and meat" is the point. Also putting back groceries is something I def would do lmfao
I definitely relate to what Steven said! I'm a Midwest Asian and I was thinking about getting a haircut soon but I don't trust local salons with my hair 'cause they just don't style it right for my face ever.
Not Midwestern but it definitely resonated with me too! My mom cut my hair for the first 9-10 years of my life and when I finally asked to go to a salon, it was a bit nightmarish 😭 Now, we go to Vietnamese salons about 40 min away for the price and expertise. Hair stylists will just never stop commenting on how thick and coarse my hair is and just hearing that will set off my fight-or-flight 😅😅
The haircut conversation reminded me that men have a rich inner world that is lovely and brings us together over small everyday things. The Bigfoot conversation reminded me that Steven Lim and I have a lot in common.

My brother was once cutting... I think it *was* bread, actually. This was many years ago when me and my siblings all still lived with our parents and I don't completely remember. Whatever he was making, the knife slipped and he cut his finger so badly and cleanly you could see the fibrous texture of the connective tissue below the white fattiness of the subcutaneous layer, just above the bone. He later described the wound to me in vivid detail, in true biology-nerd fashion. From memory, four stitches were required? Of course, this is not what I was told at the time. All I heard was my mum shouting up the stairwell at me and my sisters-- 'Girls! Scavenge the kitchen for dinner! Your brother's chopped off his finger and I'm taking him to the hospital!' It's hard to say if we were more confused or concerned. Anyway, he's a doctor now so... mind those scalpels.

As someone with curly hair, I had to learn how to cut my own hair. Bc every hairstylist always cut it really bad. Now my hair looks better than it ever has
I'm totally with Shane on this one. It's not him "not having an opinion", it's that like... he needs to develop a methodology for how to approach developing the opinion. He's just thinking about it a lot more deeply than the others, because he really, genuinely, wants to find legitimate reason to believe in it, and he can't do that unless it is absolutely irrefutable through scientific method. Love ya, Shane, never change

I just started listening to this podcast. I listened to a few of the latest episodes, and then decided to go back to the beginning. It's hilarious to hear the evolution of Shane's love for Lazy Acre's.
I love them talking about mundane things. So calming yet still entertaining. Also I sympathise with Shane and his cut up hands because I once flew off my bike and scraped my hands badly. And literally a couple days later I had dance class where we just so happened to need to go into a wheelbarrow position and I didnt have the nerve to tell my teacher so I just went along with the pain whilst I wheelbarrowed on my bloodied, scraped hands🥲
I just happened to be rewatching the Titanic episode of Puppet History-- at 8:15 in that video, there's a little newspaper clip to supplement the story, and the right hand side of the newspaper has part of the running story Shane shared, about how his "hands were blood". I def went back to the Viper Room ep of BFU to confirm the fingerless gloves too lmao
Can confirm the Glendale Costco story because once someone ran over my dog’s tail with their cart in the food court and while looking at my dog dead in the eyes said “move bitch.”
31:54 When my wife changes her mind about buying something, she doesn't put it back where it belongs. It drives me nuts because she isn't thinking about it being an inconvenience to everyone else 😂
Dang, I had a similar experience as Steven regarding haircuts and ethnicity - in the mid 90's my family moved to China from Canada and I needed to get a haircut shortly after the move. We went to this trendy Japanese salon in an upscale department store, but since they were really only familiar with Asian hair, and mine is very thick and wavy and the complete opposite of that, I was given a horrendous looking blunt bob. And I didn't say anything because I was a little tween white girl living in a new country and someone who didn't like confrontation. (To be fair, the stylist did give me a very cool modern cut, it was just completely impractical for my hair type. It would have looked amazing on someone with straighter, thinner hair!) But the experience really taught me to be more assertive and speak up for myself when a result is not what I expect or want.
As a former hairdresser with high anxiety I had a little dial on my bench with what kinda of appointment the client wanted “silent” “light talk” “I’m feeling chatty “ and let them know they can change it at anytime. After almost every apt I was like “well they hated it I know it” and that’s why I don’t do that anymore 😅
Thank you for shedding light on the male haircut experience. I’m a stylist and always wonder what I can do to make men’s haircuts better and something they like. Boys don’t be afraid to nicely speak up if you have preference on your hair
the ending was interesting to watch 😂 i have the same view point on things as shane when looking into a subject i don’t know a lot about, i always have to have some facts before i form an opinion
I loved this show. It’s so relaxing like sitting with friends who say what you think. I feel the same way as far as awkward in sitting to get my hair done. I thought it was just me. Anyway, love you guys and love how natural and real it is between all of you. Nice friendship. ❤
Shane you need to stop saying it isnt interesting! I love the energy of this pod, just friends shooting the shit. Also the whole question of whether or not you'd entertain making a comment to a hairdresser IS very telling
This was enlightening to hear the guys talk about hair. Many years ago, I made the mistake of ridiculing some roommates of being too vain about their hair and I still feel bad. I hope these 3 and my former roommates find barbers they like!
We did a land tour in Alaska and on the train from Whittier to Denali our guide said her and 3 friends camped near the tracks a few summers back. One of her friends dressed up as Big Foot to chase them around the camp fire when the train was passing 😂

I really love having this on while I clean my kitchen. I'm just listening to your dudely conversation and enjoying how "regular person" you three are.
I love that they made it 3 eps in without a fight about the supernatural or fiction
You guys could literally talk about anything and I would be entertained. Great podcast!
I just started listening to this podcast. I listened to a few of the latest episodes, and then decided to go back to the beginning. It's hilarious to hear the evolution of Shane's love for Lazy Acre's.
shane describing how he kept running after he fell actually has me in tears
Not all theories deserve to be thrown around. People should be carefull with which ideas and theories they read/listen. Shane is right.
But we love Shane for putting everything back, i constantly have to put back SO many carts 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
My fav podcast episode so far! Always love to see a new upload. It makes my day
This is so wholesome and cozy to listen to. Just friends being friends. Thanks for giving us more Watcher greatness, guys.
I was having a rough day, and then this❤you guys are awesome..thank you for keeping me company!!!
They cut steve conversion a lot, lol. I feel bad for him. But i love them all. They make me laugh
You know, I'd love to see a camping/ wilderness show with these three where they just go hiking out somewhere and spend a night or two.
Steven, you look so much better without a mustache! Loving the new podcast.
loving this pod, boys!!!!!!
Shane you need to stop saying it isnt interesting! I love the energy of this pod, just friends shooting the shit. Also the whole question of whether or not you'd entertain making a comment to a hairdresser IS very telling
After listening to the other episodes I’ll need a compilation of Shane’s Lazy Acres saga
The titles of the episodes are off to a great start ❤
I fully understand Shane just giving up on the whole recipe because of the cherry tomatoes
This was enlightening to hear the guys talk about hair. Many years ago, I made the mistake of ridiculing some roommates of being too vain about their hair and I still feel bad. I hope these 3 and my former roommates find barbers they like!
Not the Steven lim erasure in the thumbnail 😢
So stoked about the pod. Loving it. Was wishing, just before you announced it, that y’all would pick up casting again so I could listen at work.
We did a land tour in Alaska and on the train from Whittier to Denali our guide said her and 3 friends camped near the tracks a few summers back. One of her friends dressed up as Big Foot to chase them around the camp fire when the train was passing 😂
I'm loving this podcast! I also kinda liked the dim lighting, made the episode feel relaxed and cozy
AHH! I still listen to Here's What You Should Do!
The breaks for the sponsors they don't have are very funny tbh
I feel for Shane towards the end, not easy being rediculed and/or laughed at even if its not meant as malicious.
yooo loving thee podd!!!!!!
