A warmth appreciation to Mayu Ishikawa for not just being a diagonal of Koga, but also the number 1 leading best receiver in the league, being the 3rd best server , and being a consistent wing spiker when Koga ( both #3 in scoring and attacks) is on back for defensive purposes.

In this attractive game Sarina Koga was so stunning!
Team Belgium played so well and their defense was not worse than Japanese, it was excellent.
But they were suffering from Koga's variation of attack
Koga is so creative in spiking, reminds me so much of Saori

I hate to say that against USA, Japan is missing a go-to player, someone who can score at will like Saori and Ebata back in the days. Koga just proved me wrong in this match, didn’t she? I’d love to see her and Ishii with the comebacking Nagaoka in the wings of Nippon this Olympics.
Plus their persistent middle blockers. Their middles back then were utilizing their speed very well, not to mention the strong defense of Yuki Sano and Takeshita.
Koga actually did not play v.s. USA…… Her and Ishikawa are looking to be this generation’s Saori and Ebata, to be honest.
Hope to see Miyu Nagaoka in this Olympics 2021

I hope that the Japanese setters will continue to improve their floor defense. Though they are already excellent in that department, still they have miles to go. Remember the golden days of the 2010s Japanese team where Takeshita (setter) and Sano (libero) provides superb defense, they were almost unstoppable back then
Setters after Takeshita were great in setting and floor defense. But none of them reached or even went beyond Takeshita's level in both areas tho. I think Miyashita is the closest in terms of floor defense.
BUT I LOVE TEAM JAPAN, SO YEAH. Congrats 🇯🇵
I am still bitter about Miyashita not entering the Japanese roster haha. I am excited for Momi though.

PS. I'm also excited for Momi! This is the first time I ever watched her play (VNL) and she's sooo goood!!!!! Momi and Miya Sato can take turns setting!
@@albertkyle7426 she was actually in the Olympic lineup before VNL, but I guess Nakada chose Seki and Tashiro over her. Those two aren’t that bad at defending the floor, but they’re nowhere near Miyashita’s skills when it comes to setting and defending. Momii on the other hand, is pretty slow, but the setting is superb and once she gets to position herself for digging, she gets it.
That's why i love japan👍 great defend.great teamwork

Eversince Risa Shinnabe left the team. The core of the opposite side is struggling. Ishii, Nabeya, Kurogo, and Nagaoka have their own independent strength.
°Ishii is good as an outside hitter but her pipe attack is not effective. Her defense is good but inconsistent especially when targeted (like in the world cup 2019 against China)
° Yurie Nabeya is good at ball placement and a serve specialist. Good offense and defense but she is rarely included as a first six. SUPER UNDERRATED....
° Nagaoka is the PERFECT opposite but an injury comes along. Nagaoka has power, ball placement, service, and the receive. She's in the peak of her career.
° Ai Kurogo is a powerhouse but inconsistent in defending. But at least she's adjusting really well on her position. I still prefer her as an outside hitter though because she is lethal. Her 2018 performance is the evidence.
~Special Mention:
°Mami Uchiseto- also a powerhouse and a good defender but she's rarely included in the first six. Unique approach at the ball especially when twisting her body for line shot. SUPER UNDERRATED.... I wonder why
° Kotona Hayashi- I hope she can get more exposure. Her performance versus the USA is good. She contributed some points and defends really well.
° Miwako Osanai- Has full swing approach. Definitely a powerhouse and has a potential to defend really well. Her exposure at the 2019 World Cup is the evidence.
*Sarina Koga and Mayu Ishikawa is just superb in terms of attacking and defending the back side. ACE OF JAPAN.
I agree. In addition to what you said on Ishii... She was on her peak back in Saori years, she was the perfect weapon to counter taller teams like USA and China.
I really miss Mami Uchiseto on the court. Love to see her accurate power tip again....

I have been supporting Yamada since the youth era
with the same wishes as Shi-jin Yoo.
Having supported Director Nakata for 57 years,
I judge from her philosophy and way of life as a sportswoman as follows.
Manager Nakata is highly praised for Yamada's attitude to fight her ability and her daily dedication.
In addition, her youth coach Aihara, who was the best team manager in the world,
also appointed her and Yamada as her youth member and was evaluated.
Currently, Aihara is also a member of the staff all over Japan,
so I guess Yamada is included in the concept.
Literally Koga vs Herbots
Japan won 3-1 against Turkey two days ago,yesterday Turkey beated Belgium 3-0 and today Japan hardly won the match against Belgium .. the matches are getting really unpredictable at this tournament.

The Belgian Women's Volleyball Team aims to combine Asian and European volleyball.
I felt that the scales were everywhere.
In soccer, there were many players who were strong in one-on-one.
Belgium is a defeated but promising team.
I support the Japanese team, but I am praised while being an enemy.
In particular, I was surprised by the Belgian setters and captains.
Worrying is that the Belgian setter injured her ankle and the Japanese setter injured her dominant finger.
The injuries of the two are mild and I cannot help praying for a quick recovery.
I was impressed by the way Yamada and others today are working together to aim for victory.
Belgium and Germany definitely improved a lot, they’re probably catching up to peak Poland performance (wih Wolosz, Smarzek and Stysiak playing together). Germany without Lipmann and the Belgian team has a promising future, with everyone contributing for the team to help Herbots out

The All Japan Women's Volleyball Team has been working hard to catch up with
the European volleyball since the team called the Oriental Witches,
and I hope that the All Japan Women's Volleyball Team
will become a good rival to the wonderful European women's volleyball team.
I support the All Japan Women's Volleyball Team.
At the same time, I look forward to the future of a great team in Europe.

@@saiousoka2740 Japan is definitely a good team, Koga and Ishikawa are doing great, Kurogo still has time to adjust, and the bench players provide good support to the main lineup, I'm actually rooting for them this coming Olympics, I hope they win Gold and surprise everyone in their home court.

As the tournament nearing its end, its going to be very interested who will be the #3 & 4,so far the only team that is secured are USA & BRAZIL, its going to be a race between Turkey, Japan, Netherlands & Russia. Turkey has 2 more difficult games, against USA & JAPAN
