The Japanese team has most things except height. If they had another 3-5 players who are at least 6'3" to 6'5"... with their exceptional defense capability, it'd be very hard to beat them. But due to their average height being so much shorter than the Chinese and top European and Brazilian players, they can't block well, and they could only spike from the middle of the court. Net spiking are really easily blocked by opponents who are mostly 6'5" to 6'8"...

KYK needs a goddamn team mate!! She does it all. When the twins were playing at least she had someone to share the burden given the twins’ excellent defense and offense but sadly they just had to be embroiled in a situation they have caused. It’s sad that KYK really wanted to have at least one Olympic medal as this is probably her last as said on her previous interviews but looking at these looks like it’s not a promising run.
Also can I just say that KOGA is like Saori and Jae yeong combined or is it just me? Finally more talented lefts and rights for team Japan! At this rate their future is very promising!

When I watch this game, one thing Korea needs to improve a lot is their defense. All of them need to improve in digging, the current korean libero make a lot of mistake because she's lazy to save the ball. If Kim Hae Ran is the current libero, she will definitely save the ball with whatever part of body she can use, as long as the ball is in the air. And everyone in Korean team need to step up their defense. In this game, Kim Yeon Koung is literally doing everything, when she's at the back court, she's better than the libero. She sets for the hitter, she digs and obviously she spikes. If Korea want a medal in tokyo olympic, everyone must be on the same level as Kim Yeon Koung. If not, I must say, there'll be no chance for them. Japan in VNL 2021 is very strong, it shocked me. Their offense and defense is too good. And what shock me the most is their younger player literally good in both offense and defense. So, if Japan can improve a lot, why can't Korea? I hope Korea will reflect on this game deeply. I love Kim Yeon Koung so much and I hope for the best to Korean team in tokyo olympic.

Koga & Ishikawa were on fire in this game 🔥🇯🇵.
Tho I’m a fan of KYK & KOR I’m happy Japan improved so much in offense & defense. Hopefully 🇰🇷 figures something out in the 3-day break, let’s give them a chance. The Wings of KOR are pretty strong, imo the problem is the connection w/ the setters & the MB blocks are mistimed. Based on the game vs 🇹🇭 I feel like the younger blockers of KOR have better power & timing. Hoping KOR improves their play 🙏. & wishing JPN to continue w/ their winning streak ✊
