Ishikawa is such a talented player. Despite of not tall she plays smart volleyball.
lol some comments be like “oh it’s Italy’s team B” or “italian squad is young”.... like can we just accept that the Japanese team became stronger and better? Momii is so creative in setting, Sarina Koga is playing the same as in her prime years, and Mayu Ishikawa is displaying her skills despite being at a young age. Every player in the Japanese court also had great floor defense.
and who tf cares if Team A of Italy did not play? It’s their team’s decision not to put their star players. It’s like having the tool to win but you choose to be defeated
Tell me about it, the shameful reason existed since the China "B team" was massacred by the Japanese team. Imagine the coach of the losing team saying the reason they were beaten was because they were underestimate and arrogant enough to beat the Japanese team with their "B team".
Yeah you're right.. yes their opponent is young but japanese players are also young but still their skills are impeccable.. Not to mention Japan has not yet put in Ishii, Nagaoka and many of their veteran players
Couldn't agree more. Already we can see how some people are disregarding VNL as a whole as being an unworthy competition, completely being ignorant of the new FIVB point system where every point counts. Why can't people just revel in the great volleyball match between these two great teams without undervaluing their talent?
They also beat the powerful A team of Italy back in 2018 VNL. With Egonu and all those star players in it.
Japan is actually the favorites here. Italy has no wins yet. It was forecasted for Japan to close this out earlier because of how young this Italian squad is, but the surprise is that they pushed Japan to a 5th set. I guess people just need to accept that Japan isn’t always the underdog. They are a strong team capable of beating powerhouses, and I’m sure team Italy knew that coming into this match and I’m sure they’re happy that they made one of the world’s best give it their all.

Her best is still world championship 2018 where she is the 5th best scorer of the tournament after Boskovic Eguno Ting and Sloetjes

setters routine are focused on strengthening there hands for grip and control plus core exercises thats why even the setter is small a joust in the net will mostly end with setter winning.

Yeah this one’s good, some other commentators especially some in the mens matches sound lifeless.

That opposite player of Italy Hwakalor, not sure about the spelling, crazy vertical. Japan struggled so much because of her. Almost unstoppable. Italy really fought hard pushing the game into 5 sets. They are very dangerous in the future.

I can't really, I'll forget the match between japan vs Italy way back 2016, the line up of japan is still complete, saori kimura she did 31 points in the game but in the end they lost the game, and now happy It's a big different from now they improve a lot!❤️

I know that many from Thailand hate Japanese team because of that fatal Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games Qualification tournament match, where Japan defeated Thailand when Thailand was leading the 5th Set with a comfortable margin...
Then, Japan made an unbelievable comeback and won the watch, qualifying for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

So I ask: how can you say that Japan is a very strong team? Come on, it's an absolutely mediocre team. If Italy had deployed Egonu & Co., the result would have been 25-10, 25-9, 25-3.
So I'm not looking for excuses, I'm just rectifying the ridiculous phrase: Japan is very strong.

not entirely. Kurogo and Koga have been there since 2015. Araki has been there since time immemorial. hahaha. but most of them are new like Ishikawa and Momii.

JPN's teams (men and women) are able to defeat big teams in volleyball. I hope they win in Tokyo 2021
Agree, but you cannot see a lot of big names this VNL. They have tried Russia with A team and won, Brazil with A team and lost, other than that, Italy, China don't have much of their A team there, also Serbia. This is a very different match with Sylia, Bosseti, Egonu on this team.

I am biasedly rooting for Japan since 2010 and I witnessed their journey throughout the years. Why I said "are able" is because they weren't able to go through the finals like before way back 2010-2014....
@@josephls4038 may be I am in wrong VNL, because aside from the late China's A team, I only saw US, Japan and Brazil's big name but no Serbia and no Italy's A team. I was once rooted for Japan also, when there was Saori. But that was "was"!

I, too, have had the same thought as yourself!! Karakurt and Melli wear the same haircut, but Karakurt's is purple and that avoids confusion!:-D Next season they'll meet again in Italy; if I'm not wrong, last season Melli played for Trentino for the first time in A1 (1st division), next season she'll be playing for Perugia.
Who knows, maybe sooner or later someone will prove they're twin sisters separated from birth:-))))
