Hi Charlotte! Love your videos! My advice, and please take it with a grain of salt because it’s your apartment, is to not be in a rush to fill every nook and cranny and empty wall space with stuff. You’ve just moved in, so take your time before buying things to just fill up space. Look at design magazines to give you ideas and take your time. It takes many months to get an apartment to look just right. Plants are great! Candles are awesome! Since you love tulips, why not buy some real ones? How about hyacinths? They smell amazing!! Maybe a slightly larger basket for your fake trees? I think that would balance them out better. You have an amazing apartment 😊 and whatever you do will be great!
Also, look for art by local artists and/or local places that you enjoy going to. It will be special if you move away from DC, too.
Twinkly lights are cute but lamps would ve more sophisticated. I think a pair of sconce lights would look great on both sides of the bed
100%. Those lights remind me of a teenager’s room. Still cute though.
I agree. Twinkle lights scream teenage room or first year of college dorm. Lamps will look better
Great video. I'm surprised you don't have a coffee table. It's different but great way to free up the space more.
I love what you have done with you big girl home! One suggestion if you put the feet back on the tray sitting on the dining table you should be able to tuck your laptop in there☺ Looking forward too more life updates on your life journey. Good luck with your new job.

Totally agree with the lightning in your bedroom. Those string lights are not the vibe you should be after. You can get remote, battery-powered sconces for instance. What about a little moveable island for the kitchen. More storage, fun to decorate and handy for prep space.

I would put the pillow case in the dryer with a wet towel . That way you will get all of the loose stuff off of it .
I think if you bring the tapestry design a little more to the left, it would hide the opener knob to the utility box.
Hi Charlotte, the little wooden coasters that came with the wood slice from goodwill would look so great under your toothbrush and hand cream in your bathroom 🤘🏻 x
ooooh that's such a good idea!!!
Just a caveat - if you plan to serve food on the wood slice, you’ll need to put a food safe coating on it. Also - since you’re planning to install shelves above your bed, you might want to use museum putty to stick the items to the shelves so nothing falls on you. If you’re leaving the string lights up in your bedroom because there’s no overhead fixture, you might want to consider getting a ceiling fixture that you can swag on a chain and plug into a wall outlet.

I would move one of your green chairs back into the living room ( I think you have room on the left side of your couch next to bookcase facing the TV). And then for balance maybe a small ottoman or pouf or a small coffee table. And I do think bigger baskets for your plants. And one chair behind the sofa table would still look great! Overall it’s adorable!❤

If you aren’t in love with your sofa throw pillows you can get new covers and use the existing pillows as the inserts. Easier and less expensive than buying all new.

I hear ya. I have over 100 Plants and counting. I understand why you have some fake plants in your apartment due to light restrictions, but I personally can’t do fake, I just get grow lights lol (definitely not judge if you get them because I understand).

how about a tall lamp on your dresser instead of a plant? also maybe a different lamp on your bedside table..that little lamp you could put on the kitchen table since you are using it as a desk..

I think if you put your large plant next to TV in a stone off white vase, it would really bring beauty in that corner to match your rug.
Sometimes less is more. When we start cramping loads of stuff all over, filling every single empty space, the place will start to look really very busy and eventually loose it's "peaceful and comfy" feel. It really is ok to have a few empty spaces on the countertops and not all corners of the house need to have something stuck in them. Browse through some minimalist apartments and I am sure you will get what I am trying to say...

Love your bedroom. I could do without the hanging lights as they don’t really scream “big girl” room, more like teen room. Also takes away from the vibe of the rest of the room.
