      It's funny just how easy that sounds, but we both know it can be challenging. When you 'Get in The Zone' though, that's when the magic happens.😊

      Hey Howling! The first horizontal is my favorite so far. When I look back at it in a couple of days I might change my thinking. How's all in your part of the world? Mum doing well? Cheers!

      @@chrisloudart the painting turned out to be a surprise, it must be quite exciting at your end of the paint brush watching this image appear and disappear then appear again evolving into something beautiful. You realise by asking about mum it could get me waffling😊 you can't say I didn't warn you😊. She's doing remarkably well me on the other hand (sigh) frustration😄😄 but we make each other laugh so in the end it's all good. You see without her hearing aides she's as deaf as a post, and with them well, shall we say there's not much improvement 😂 I find myself shouting so that she can hear me. But the upside of it is sometimes what she thinks she heard me say is really quite hilarious, so I start laughing, then she's laughing at me laughing, and around it goes, god I love her to bits. Her house won't be finished in the 12 week time frame they gave us which is up in about a fortnight. Its not anyone's fault, the weather is out of anyone's control, and delayes or wrong deliveries can only be partially controlled, so the time frame has been extended another 4 weeks. But her little house will be lovely when its done, and she has a lovely environment to look at. However, it also means it'll be quite a while before I'm in my workshop creating, I'm really missing it though because I was going to start doing the painting exercises that are in your book I bought, and all my art stuff is trapped in my workshop and I don't want to buy paint when I've got enough, so delayed gratification is what I'll have to be content with for now. The winter here started of very cold, and wet as usual but its been very warm lately it may mean there's so now on its way, the birds usually let us know when a storm is coming, but I'm just hoping it's not a sign of a hot dry summer with bushfires. Well, its Saturday tomorrow, I hope your weekend is shaping up to be a fun filled happy one with loads of laughter, I'm eagerly awaiting the next video. Cheers!

      Thanks, Howling! It’s definitely exciting to see a painting evolve like that-it keeps the creative process so dynamic. Your stories about your mum always bring a smile to my face! Despite the frustrations, it’s wonderful to hear how much laughter you both share. I’m sure her house will be beautiful when it’s finished, and I can’t wait for you to get back into your workshop and start those painting exercises. Have a fantastic weekend! Cheers!
      p.s. I expect nothing less than you waffling and telling me some great stories.

    Where does “composition “come into abstract art? Or does it?

    • @chrisloudart
      @chrisloudart  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question, Katy! Composition plays a significant role in abstract art, just as it does in more representational styles. It's all about arranging elements in a way that feels balanced and engaging. Even in the most spontaneous pieces, composition can make all the difference. With that said, I don't put as much focus on composition with my warm-up paintings as I do on more intentional and finished pieces. I don't currently have a video addressing composition specifically, but there are many great videos on TH-cam about abstract composition and different types. I hope this helps!

    • @katykrebs9707
      @katykrebs9707 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@chrisloudart Thank you for your response. I feel I’ve struggled with “composition” and not at all with “ color”. Im Self taught and have been painting for 3 years( I’m 70). Your video really “landed” with me compositionally( I liked it) so I’m thinking all the videos I’ve watched have laid a foundation of seeing a new way. With color, I was looking at the painting and mentally saying” I think I’d like some terra cotta over there and that’s what you would do. I will continue watching composition videos.

    • @chrisloudart
      @chrisloudart  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Katy! You're not alone-I think composition is something many artists struggle with. I include myself in that statement. One moment I feel like composition comes easy to me and the next I'm all over the place with it. It's like many things in the learning process, once we feel we have a grasp on it, something knocks it out of our hands and we have to re-learn. My suggestion is to start with simple compositions, get comfortable with those, and then level up.
