This is something we often do subconsciously after years of being interviewed but don't explicitly think about. This has reminded me of the importance of tailoring my preparation based on who I believe the interviewer will be. Knowing the interview stage, whether it's an HR screening, a technical interview with my future line manager, or a meeting with the head of programs or country director, usually helps prepare more effectively. Sometimes they don't even tell you who is interviewing so it's good practice to ask them at the beginning of the IV!
