- Check out how I made this comfy floor pillow using 1 yard of fabric! It's a super easy DIY!
Materials:
-1 yard fabric (purchased mine from Joannes Fabric)
-3 bags of foam
-Scissors
-Yard stick
-Needle and thread

Thank you for this easy tutorial on tufting. So grateful you didn't emphasise needing to tie specific knots and measure perfectly. Most people who attempt projects such as this can instinctually eyeball placement as you did. After watching your method, I no longer feel as if a tufting project is too difficult for me.

Love this! I was looking for a floor pillow on amazon and immediately thought "i could make this for way less". Turns out i can and you make it look so easy! I'll be trying to stuff mine with sewing scraps to see if i can save on stuffing too

Great tutorial! I can't agree more with other posters who buy the cheap pillows from Walmart. The other day I saw a bag of poly stuffing from a craft store - about $9.00 for about the same size as the Walmart pillow. Now to may my own floor pillow!

dan Wow! That’s awesome! I try to avoid hand stitching as much as I can 😩 its so tedious to me. I think my sewing machine has spoiled me lol
@@Jeloisi I wish my sewing machine could spoil me too, but she is out of commission at the moment. Cant buy machine oil during quarantine lol.
@@SpecsAppeal it's surprisingly easy, but it takes a little getting used to stitching tight spaces and weird curves. I usually use my sewing machine when stitching flat pieces or flat hems, and hand stitch circular hems and tight sleeves. My biggest advice is to do practice stitches on a scrap fabric to get to know more about your machine. every machine is different. experiment with tensions and maneuvering.

How do you get the thread closed after it’s gone through?? I don’t think I understand🤦🏽♀️
It would be too hard to explain through text. I recommend searching “how to invisible stitch” or “how to sew a hole closed” on TH-cam so you can see how its done in more detail. My way was sorta “make shift” to get the job done. I hope this helps 🤞🏾
You need "mattress stitch" - invisible seaming used by knitters & toy makers

I was so tired of paying a lot of money for "Foam"
I bought cheap pillows for $2.50 at Walmart... same as the expensive foam... it works.

Normal pillows.... like the "Filler" material you would usually buy that is more expensive... just remember to OVER STUFF it... and use a pillow case that is 2" littler...
for a 26" x 26" pillow... use a 28" x 28" pillow insert (that is for a pillow insert) but if you're using just pillows to use the stuffing... really stuff it to the max... because it will flatten a little.

I will tell you this...
Make the big pillow, with like a good SHEET material...
Then when you cover it... Make an ENVELOPE cover... because you'll want to be able to remove it to wash it... You don't have to use zipper.
