However, UL is close behind and I am pretty sure Rebirth would be up there as well. However, Rebirth missed A21, but I know it will make a very strong comeback once it releases this year.
That bit on Sorcery mod's Devrix was well done. I had to relisten to it as it went over my head initially, but I really love how you add in dry humour and witty comments in your videos. Keep up the good work, and do you have a Patreon?

First I am launching a discord server as it can be easier for players to get hold of me, even though people can just comment on my videos. However, I have noticed players still ask me at times if I am running a discord.
I have a micro-overhaul called The Winchester Challenge available at Nexus Mods via their Vortex Collection system. It offers players the chance to test their mettle at The Winchester Pub from the movie Shaun of the Dead. It's meant as a quick 20-30 minute one-night stand quest through the POI and/or horde night there. If you like that movie, and the idea of a short themed POI, give it a try!
@@SnowBee I also have a second Vortex Collection there too, it's called"Better 7D2D by FNS". Vortex gets a bad wrap for 7D2D, it's great for easily curating mod lists, and switching between Overhaul profiles.

I've been looking forward to it for so long. You know a mod is good when you literally wait years (feels like it anyways) for the updated version. Hi Lorri. Yes, since A20, it is a LOOOOOOOOONG time to wait :( The fact we missed out on two of the greatest overhauls in A21, is such a pity (UL and Rebirth). Still, it is going to be a good six months I think. With any luck UL will come out by December... at least that is what I am hearing and people are hoping for. Seems like forever.

Greetings. I just want to give the information, I'm working at an Escape From Tarkov overhaul with an friend (for 6 months now) and we will most likely release it next week. We already have 70 guns, over 130 item modifiers, a lot of special and EFT-Related items and a lot of different ammo types. The first version we release won't have all the features, it mostly implements the guns and new items. In the future we plan on adding custom soldier-type Zombies, custom traders with EFT-Like tradeable items and maybe even custom POI's resembling maps like Interchange and Factory. We also want to add custom lootcontainers based on the EFT ones. And much more to come. Be excited. Next week we release the first version and the base gameplay of this overhaul.
Thank you for a good coverage of so many modpacks. The authors I know find it hard to keep up with the social media sphere in ways and it's refreshing to find someone willing to cover their progress and keep the community updated on their behalf. Not everyone has the time to join it Discord sort through news and update posts.
Thanks :) Yip, that is one of the reasons I started doing it. So many would ask me about overhaul mods I never covered, so I decided to at least bring in as many as possible, even though my coverage on them was not always that detailed. At least people had an idea if the mod was alive or dead.

@@bakedBOEANS Yeah, you are correct, pretty difficult to find. So, your pictures, paintings and signs are generally 1 and 2. A pool table is 4, but at 300kg, that is pretty heavy. In the Traders, they all have a sign inside the trader area, like "Trader Rekt", they are all 3 points each. The wooden bear and bear rug are also 3 points each. There is a medical or pop and pills sign that I found which is a 3 or 4 points as well. That is it so far that I know of.
Yes, I am quite interested to see if Zilox added features or mainly did a compatibility version. I know he previously held off on some features and was waiting for version 1 to land. So, I am most interested.
Yeah, I think Rebirth will come out before Sorcery. Devrix is having to deal with RL stuff according to discord, so I think it is possibly only back to do modding in a month or two. The impression is he may only start then. That will also put a delay on a DF and Sorcery mix, which is a pity, it is very popular.

@@SnowBee Oh yeah the dev said the full mod releases 1.0 in November. That is correct. In the "posts" section on nexus, if you hunt for it, there is a comment where the mod's uploader mentions a Gun-Only version coming along with that November release. So those who care more for the guns can get a stand alone. Due Note: The guns' *damage* is based on the ammo, and the ammo's stats are in a separate file and XML you can edit. The weapons' other stats relative to accuracy, fire rate, etc. are in another XML within the files that contain the firearms. If this does not change for the stand alone mod... They can be edited to fit nicely in any of the other overhauls should somebody want them and have the will to do the small edits.

Hey Krispy I have never been asked about the Steam Deck. I must see if anyone has looked into this. I think Khaine with Darkness Falls has one, but I don't know anything about its modding capability.

Remember it is only experimental. However, knowing Zilox's experimantals, a LOT of work has gone into it already, so it will still be a great version to play.

@joel6322 Thanks, if people do communicate in another language, I usually put it through Google Translate and try to respond. I don't follow many smaller mods, mainly overhauls. So I don't know of any currently that improve performance. However, by the end of the year, there will hopefully be some updates coming out to improve game performance by the developers.
I still waiting for Undead Legacy & Age of Oblivion & Darkness Fall for v1.0. Only 1 good overhaul War3zuk AIO already v1.0 other overhaul mods not yet release. Not sure Darkness Fall release on 30th Aug could delay, I checked 7DtD forum no date for v1.0

Currently only War3zuk is out that makes very large changes to the game. The other mods certainly make changes that look like huge changes, but they are actually sticking with quite a few features of vanilla. Outside of War3zuk, I would say 28 Alphas Later is probably also got quite a few mechanics and features that change it from vanilla. Tomorrow, District Zero releases into experimental, so you could pick up that and take a look. Like War3zuk it makes many changes to the game. You can take a look at my "What is District Zero" video I did here: th-cam.com/video/qd_1psz1EfQ/w-d-xo.html Currently, District Zero has a few differences since I published that video many months ago, as the mod has changed a bit, but the principle remains the same. Especially if you watch my July Overhaul video from a month ago, it explains some of the main changes to District Zero. So yeah, the two mods that I would say definitely make large sweeping "darkness falls type" changes, would be War3zuk and District Zero, with 28 Alphas Later coming in as well.
Took a look today. VERY impressive. Awesome animation on those guns. I really like the animation and attempt on the reloading animation. Well done. From what I understand, the guns are part of the overhaul, but you are planning to put them into a pack for vanilla download?
@@lorenzomorrow62 Last I saw there was just 1 IZY gun mod (which sounded like it was just going to combine all of them into one?) and it didn’t have even most of the guns that were just in the individual packs, which were still A21 only. Granted, that was maybe a month or two ago.
I only know that there is a VR 7d2d on the mod launcher. Unfortunately, I don't know how well it works or runs. Certainly is something to look into... just difficult for me to test without a VR system. :(
The Compo Pack for vanilla has just been released. It has 1200+ new POI's. Quite a few overhauls have new zombies: Prepocalypse, War3zuk, End Z, District Zero and Joke Mod. Rebirth is coming the end of the month.
Hi Gamax Yes, I did mention it in this video but only briefly to say nothing new. There is no direct info yet, however, in my July video I went into more detail regarding it. th-cam.com/video/T8fQHDBW3xg/w-d-xo.html There are chapters so you can pinpoint it. Bdubs will do it when he can owing to numerous changes he wanted to make (he doesn't like some of the v1 core features). I do recall I did quote him in my July news video.
I have installed it, unfortunately, with so many other mods and other stuff to do, especially RL, I have just not got around to playing it yet. Hopefully once v1 is released. Just the rest of this year is full of lovely mods being released :)
I wish someone, ANYONE, would redo the damn zombie sounds lol. They are so bad and have 0 depth lol. They can be 30 fert away walking g away and sound like they are over your shoulder chomping on your neck 🤣.
I know Age of Oblivion mod made a number of changes to various zombies that were added. District zero obviously has many changes owing to the robots, but once the zombies themselves were brought back, so did the old audio. Various overhauls do add in new audio, however, you are correct, most leave in the old zombie sounds. I think a lot of players don't really mind the old audio, or they don't realise how stale it is. I do agree with your zero range comment. That can annoy me at times, but I think some games keep it in as it keeps you on your toes.
Sorry, not even close. :( Still likely only some minor XML mods will be playable when it possibly happens in the very distant future. Though I guess if it does happen, it will happen on the Xbox and not on the PS. We will have to see. I will see if I can get further info on it.
@7DTD-k5j Consoles are pretty much a closed device, while a pc is anything goes. The protection must be broken on the xbox, or the developer has to create a means for you to play the mod. Will this eventually be done, maybe, but I don't think soon. So it won't happen this year and may take forever. Fallout is one of the few games that have had this treatment. I see at the end of 2025 the Steam Workshop is supposed to be coming to PC. Maybe at that time, the console may start being looked at, but the devs are not known for keeping to their schedules or road map.
Dear OP, I feel your pain. I was an early adopter of XBL way back when and I rather enjoyed it for many years. Then the cash grabbing began and the prices of hardware became more reasonable. Buying a gaming rig is a lot more palatable now that your hardware isn’t obsolete every 6 months
Hi 7DTD-k5j, just responding after doing some more research. Initial research suggests that modding will certainly be coming to console, and is one of the reasons certain changes were made to the mod folder location for PC. So, server side mods like changing the toolbelt size, or mods that can be download straight off the server, are fine. However, overhauls that require additional code, such as Darkness Falls, are likely 100% out, and will very unlikely be available for console anytime in the future. That seems to be the general feeling from some modders and modder guru's. I am told that TFP's have mentioned some things in the past, but I can't find anything directly from them yet. Will keep looking.
Yeah, there is a fine line in this area. I do agree with you in some cases. When I first discovered mods a few years ago, I really only knew about UL, DF and one or two others. I noticed after a while that some mods doing one thing with maybe just the guns/weapons would sometimes also be an "overhaul". At that time I was also thinking why is this considered an overhaul. I know Subquake from UL has made some comments on this as well, where he has mentioned how certain mods are really not overhauls, even ones that have many changes. Adding in new UI and guns, then calling it an overhaul. Some are true overhauls in the sense they change everything, or keep the same mechanic as vanilla, but change how it is represented. The bottom line, is how big of an experience does the change have to be to warrant an "overhaul" stamp of approval? I have generally ignored it for now, and usually just go on what various sites have decided to categorize that mod. Still, I do understand your comment and agree.
You may want to look at "Afterlife" once it drops for version 1. I did do a quick few comments in my previous July news update concerning it. Otherwise, "Rebirth" has a very high level of polish, but that is likely only releasing in late October. Both these mods are more challenging than UL is.

I have never been asked about the Steam Deck. I must see if anyone has looked into this. I think Khaine with Darkness Falls has one, but I don't know anything about its modding capability.
It's a real shame that life sucks sometimes, or makes us too busy to do the things we really want. BUT I'm grateful for all the hundreds of hours our modder demi-gods give us for free! Good luck to you all!

I don't follow many smaller mods, mainly overhauls. So I don't know of any currently that improve performance. However, by the end of the year, there will hopefully be some updates coming out to improve game performance by the developers.
I still waiting for Undead Legacy & Age of Oblivion & Darkness Fall for v1.0. Only 1 good overhaul War3zuk AIO already v1.0 other overhaul mods not yet release. Not sure Darkness Fall release on 30th Aug could delay, I checked 7DtD forum no date for v1.0

The husband and I have actually rolled back our version to Alpha 20 and are playing Undead Legacy again while we wait for DF. It's that good.
Yip, that mod is so good that it works well even in A20. So agree with this!
Currently only War3zuk is out that makes very large changes to the game. The other mods certainly make changes that look like huge changes, but they are actually sticking with quite a few features of vanilla. Outside of War3zuk, I would say 28 Alphas Later is probably also got quite a few mechanics and features that change it from vanilla.
Tomorrow, District Zero releases into experimental, so you could pick up that and take a look. Like War3zuk it makes many changes to the game. You can take a look at my "What is District Zero" video I did here: th-cam.com/video/qd_1psz1EfQ/w-d-xo.html
Currently, District Zero has a few differences since I published that video many months ago, as the mod has changed a bit, but the principle remains the same. Especially if you watch my July Overhaul video from a month ago, it explains some of the main changes to District Zero. So yeah, the two mods that I would say definitely make large sweeping "darkness falls type" changes, would be War3zuk and District Zero, with 28 Alphas Later coming in as well.

@@lorenzomorrow62 Last I saw there was just 1 IZY gun mod (which sounded like it was just going to combine all of them into one?) and it didn’t have even most of the guns that were just in the individual packs, which were still A21 only. Granted, that was maybe a month or two ago.
I miss "Starvation Mod" so much.
I have never played it, but it is probably one of the most talked about mods I hear about from the earlier mod days.

I only know that there is a VR 7d2d on the mod launcher. Unfortunately, I don't know how well it works or runs. Certainly is something to look into... just difficult for me to test without a VR system. :(

The Compo Pack for vanilla has just been released. It has 1200+ new POI's.
Quite a few overhauls have new zombies: Prepocalypse, War3zuk, End Z, District Zero and Joke Mod.
Rebirth is coming the end of the month.

There are chapters so you can pinpoint it. Bdubs will do it when he can owing to numerous changes he wanted to make (he doesn't like some of the v1 core features). I do recall I did quote him in my July news video.

I have installed it, unfortunately, with so many other mods and other stuff to do, especially RL, I have just not got around to playing it yet. Hopefully once v1 is released. Just the rest of this year is full of lovely mods being released :)
I wish someone, ANYONE, would redo the damn zombie sounds lol. They are so bad and have 0 depth lol. They can be 30 fert away walking g away and sound like they are over your shoulder chomping on your neck 🤣.
I know Age of Oblivion mod made a number of changes to various zombies that were added. District zero obviously has many changes owing to the robots, but once the zombies themselves were brought back, so did the old audio. Various overhauls do add in new audio, however, you are correct, most leave in the old zombie sounds. I think a lot of players don't really mind the old audio, or they don't realise how stale it is. I do agree with your zero range comment. That can annoy me at times, but I think some games keep it in as it keeps you on your toes.

Still likely only some minor XML mods will be playable when it possibly happens in the very distant future. Though I guess if it does happen, it will happen on the Xbox and not on the PS. We will have to see. I will see if I can get further info on it.

@7DTD-k5j Consoles are pretty much a closed device, while a pc is anything goes. The protection must be broken on the xbox, or the developer has to create a means for you to play the mod. Will this eventually be done, maybe, but I don't think soon. So it won't happen this year and may take forever. Fallout is one of the few games that have had this treatment. I see at the end of 2025 the Steam Workshop is supposed to be coming to PC. Maybe at that time, the console may start being looked at, but the devs are not known for keeping to their schedules or road map.
Dear OP, I feel your pain. I was an early adopter of XBL way back when and I rather enjoyed it for many years. Then the cash grabbing began and the prices of hardware became more reasonable. Buying a gaming rig is a lot more palatable now that your hardware isn’t obsolete every 6 months
Hi 7DTD-k5j, just responding after doing some more research. Initial research suggests that modding will certainly be coming to console, and is one of the reasons certain changes were made to the mod folder location for PC. So, server side mods like changing the toolbelt size, or mods that can be download straight off the server, are fine. However, overhauls that require additional code, such as Darkness Falls, are likely 100% out, and will very unlikely be available for console anytime in the future. That seems to be the general feeling from some modders and modder guru's. I am told that TFP's have mentioned some things in the past, but I can't find anything directly from them yet. Will keep looking.

Yeah, there is a fine line in this area. I do agree with you in some cases. When I first discovered mods a few years ago, I really only knew about UL, DF and one or two others. I noticed after a while that some mods doing one thing with maybe just the guns/weapons would sometimes also be an "overhaul". At that time I was also thinking why is this considered an overhaul.
I know Subquake from UL has made some comments on this as well, where he has mentioned how certain mods are really not overhauls, even ones that have many changes. Adding in new UI and guns, then calling it an overhaul. Some are true overhauls in the sense they change everything, or keep the same mechanic as vanilla, but change how it is represented.
The bottom line, is how big of an experience does the change have to be to warrant an "overhaul" stamp of approval? I have generally ignored it for now, and usually just go on what various sites have decided to categorize that mod. Still, I do understand your comment and agree.
Is War of the Walkers a dead mod?
No unlikely dead, it is just not mentioned anywhere on its status. I think A21 it also suddenly appeared after a while.
Vanilla is such garbage. As a fan of Undead Legacy which of these other overhauls would you say is the closest?
You may want to look at "Afterlife" once it drops for version 1. I did do a quick few comments in my previous July news update concerning it.
Otherwise, "Rebirth" has a very high level of polish, but that is likely only releasing in late October. Both these mods are more challenging than UL is.
