Super deine Videos!
I’ve built a few model steam engines in my time. Horizontal, vertical, double action. None as big or complex as yours. I’m a retired “journey machinist “and really admire your work. @@bandito85fx It's gotten better over the years, but initially, when I googled "Doll" on Google pictures, the search engine must have thought I was looking for some inhabitants for a dollhouse xD
I've been looking forward to more Doll 512 replica action! I love the intertitle card.😁 You're really developing some special skills working with brass and tin. Have you considered doing your own plating? There's a TH-camr in the U.K. that restores watches and he often re-plates the cases. It's not too difficult with the right equipment. That was a LOT of work. If only real life had a fast-forward mode! Really looking forward to seeing it run under it's own power.
@@michaelcherry8952 I have considered it, but to be honest, by now I've built up such a good relationship to my plating shop that I enjoy driving over to hand them a heap of parts from time to time :D
An excellent result, well done! I am surprised that you did not nickel-plate the parts yourself? I tried nickel-plating myself and I was surprised at the results - if I can do it, you most certainly can! Greetings from the UK!
Thank You! Well, I'm sure I could try electroplating myself, but to be fair, I've grown into a very good relationship with the small shop that does the plating for me - not only do they charge very little, but it's always a visit I look forward to, having a chat with the old owner and getting another glimpse into an industry which is sadly becoming a dying breed due to more and more intense regulations. Until he has to close his doors, I really don't want to mess with this kind of stuff which, I'm sure, will behave exactly like solder or paint when improperly cleaned and prepared.
That's pretty funny if I forget how evil hollywood is and then the realization the bad guys won sets in and I've gotta play Charlie and His Orchestra so i can smile again 07 lol spicy
That's a beautiful piece of work, lovely to see it running 👍
That is one engine you should be proud of! Beautiful!
Very nice result. It's a real beauty.
Boy I really admire your skills! So much fun to watch!

May i ask how you got the texture on the walkway where the hand railing is?
On the shaper. I ofsett the vise 45° and plunge-cut grooves with a V-Bit in fixed distances.

11:14...I wouldn't use acid anywhere NEAR a machine tool- a SPILL would be DISASTEROUS...(!)
To be fair citric acid basically concentrated fruit juice, it would take some time to cause any problems with steel.
