After months of looking for loc videos I finally found a TH-camr I can relate to. I am 8 months in and was feeling so scrappy about how my hair looked. I was at the point of combing them out. Now I feel encouraged to be patient and wait for the results. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I’m on my second loc journey and this is how i do my hair as well I wash weekly and I do a light twist you have to do what works for u and my hair already showing budding and some are locd … it’s a process and it’s patience
I love how you documented your journey! I can’t wait for more videos from you!! 🥰 I’m 3.5 months in and I love the process. I’m ready for you to post your 4-6 month Loc’d video
Thank you for documenting your journey. This is so well done and like you I went against “the rules” and my locs are coming along great 😊 keep the videos coming ❤️
I LOVE your hair. A real hair goal for me. I am almost 3 months locked and my hair look just like yours I loved/ hated it at the same time. It is a journey for sure, but I know the outcome is going to be amazing.
Thank you for this video this is how my hair looked after one month on August 4. I washed for first time August 5. Could not get retwist because of an emergency my stylist had, but may wait longer like you for thicker locks And I have not seen anybody else hair on here like mine so thank you very much for putting your journey on here I have also started documenting my journey on here so I wish you the best and thank you again. I learned so much. Keep posting.
excitinggg!!! welcome to the loc community! but yesss, it's important to see other ppl with similar hair textures when going throughout the loc journey process. and thick locs are where its at, loll. thank you love, all the best to you as well
Sooooo beautiful and very informative. I’m 6 days in and I’m going to enjoy every moment of my journey. Thank You for sharing your journey Queen I’m inspired ❤
This is great I started my locks with my hair fully natural no heat damage and I was getting tired or doing two strand twist and because of that my hair was locking already lol and my air was fairly long so I didn’t even have an “awkward phase” my only thing is that I wish I parted the hair better but I was also loosing hair at the top so I had to work with it lol my hair is long enough to make it work though so I’m really happy I didn’t even have to use gell just water rice soap and for oils I used jajoba oil, black caster oil, and regular hair grease I also used the silk wrap and my dread at much thinner because I did twist out method and I retwist them myself I’m thinking to finally I have had my dreads since Covid started.
I casually saw you on instagram the other day and today your video was on my TH-cam recommendations 😂🌸. Love you hair , I started my journey 5 days ago . Thank you for the tips cos I feel like I have been playing with my hair way too much and I don’t have dense hair like yours. Keep shining ✨✨✨
whaaaa that is soo cool, thanks for checking out the video! and welcome to the LOC FAMMM!!! loll it is tempting to play with BUT so worth it not to. what’s your insta??
wow you really know your details down to the last bit, one year and a half(approx), 73 locks, on 4C hair, won't even continue hehehe, love your video content, still yet to reach one year, been a couple of months( 5 to be exact) love the journey love where my hair is at, and love watching your vids, i agree with a lot of tips you give ( water water drip drip)hehehe
Thank you for this! I am only 2 weeks and 2 days in. I have only 38 locs and I am terrified that they will be too thick. But I have seen some gorgeous thick locs...some of which had less locs than I have. You have over 70 and yours are thick and absolutely beautiful. I often wonder if I trim an inch or 2, maybe once a year (if they become heavy and to maintain healthy hair) will they reseal nicely. Have you ever trimmed or thought of trimming? If you have, did they reseal nicely?
glad the video was helpful! and WOW 38, that’s awesome! you’re going to have beautiful locs. as far as thick locs though the end result will heavily depend on how dense your hair is no matter the loc to part ratio. i haven’t trimmed my hair, but i do know of someone (with locs) who did. the only thing is they had slim locs (bigger than micro but a little smaller than average). i would imagine theirs sealed without visibly noticing it was trimmed bc of the size. i haven’t seen the process or result of that with thick locs as of yet.
@@thesimoneestelle Thank you for responding so quickly. And thank you for the compliment! Ok…my hair is semi-thick in its loose natural state (if that makes sense lol). I will see how they shape and thicken as the journey continues! 😊
Omg!! I am literally 5 months into my lock journey and i have like the thinnest locks to ever exist.....my saloonist literally started styling my hair from day 1🥲i haven't been doing any of this.....entirely depend ok my styling for everything....i also have extensions attached to them since the day they were started....does this affect in any way....panick mode guyss!!!
So was your new growth matting togther because you werent getting retwists frequently? Did you regret bcuz of your hair destiny and texture of not retwisting your starter locs every 4 weeks or so? And was it a choice you always planned on goin with or was it just a byproduct of what was happening to you not getting retwisted frequently.
I did my own 2 strand twists (4c, low porosity) and your 2.5 week is where I'm at at 2 weeks because they are loose 😔 idk whether to wait to retwist or do it now. what do you suggest ?
@@joynmo46 well the good news is that your locs are still new. it is extremely easy to get rid of undesired product or buildup while you're still in the beginning stages. by the end of your next wash it'll easily come out. i would absolutely under no circumstances recommend anyone use ampro style on locs for any reason 😂 hopefully your Loctician has another product you can opt for (preferably water soluble products) to use on your retwists

Did you at all wear a scarf on your head when you were in between twist
Thank you for this video! Did you blow out your hair before locking?
you're welcome! and negatory, loc'd it just as is...nor would i recommend that anyone blow it out before getting starter locs lol
Whew. Okay, thank you for the clarification

As you were washing it everyday where you putting oil also back in there? And as you were washing were you shampoo
i put water everyday, oiled every three-four days and shampooed every 1 or 2 weeks 🤎🙌🏾
Black women look beautiful with dreadlocks I'm just trying to uplift the people uplift our sisters
How do you know what type of hair you have I don’t know 😢
So,did,you, wet your hair, every,day
❤ i,love,,your locs, video 📹 😍
What oil do you put in your hair?

def wait to ATLEAST a month. retwisting after two and a half weeks is too soon
😂 the correction sound effect
I’m 7 weeks in. Went for retwist. The stylist use brown gel on my hair. Am I in for serious buildup ?
i can’t say for sure but i’ve definitely never seen or heard of brown gel being used on a retwist 🥲
Yeah. The name of gel was ampro pro styl super hold I believe
