I smashed all the mannequins out of paranoia and it paid off. This game has better design than most AAA games where you know the zombie is going to come back etc. but can't kill ahead of time. Having it actually pay off for once is so satisfying.
Sneaky bastards knew most of us wouldn't be checking out the mannequins in such a detailed way; made that Possessor Worm debut that much more sinister and creepy!
I think Ashes Hard Reset is far more of a horror game than the previous installments. The Mall is case in point. Lots of dark areas, jump scares, the possessor worms. As well as the eerie sounds effects and sound tracks add to it. I've never been thIs fightened in a game since i played the original AVP back in the 90s! :D Still, I prefer Afterglow with its more balanced action/survival horror theme. Currently playing through Afterglow again partly to refresh on all the Hard Reset references. :)

It grants you free access to the secret map of the episode :D I specified that back in MAP07. There's not even a secret exit you need to find. If you buy the map, then once you exit MAP10, it takes you straight to the secret map instead of MAP11 (which will instead come after the secret map)
Okay are my timestamps for this map not showing up for anyone else, or is it just me? Is TH-cam playin' some kinda prank 🤌ovah heah? 🤌 EDIT: They're up now! Just (for some weird reason) had to delete them out of the description box in TH-cam Studio, save the progress, leave the page, go back in, re-add them, and save again. A bit of a weird way to fix something, but hey, if it works, it works!

The Hammer can take some time to get used to considering his movement and attack patters, for sure. And that hammer attack of his I'm sure is a near one-hit kill on Survival!
@@Chozo_Ghost Issue is I just had zero ammo. I unfortunately had to cheat on the final variation of him because it was just otherwise undoable. I managed to beat the first fight with pipebombs and melee though after a lot of reloads.
i HATE mannequins even more so when they have that weeping angels bullshit going on so you can imagine how i felt playing through this map lmao like i'm fine in real life cause i know they're plastic but when it comes to games and movies they're a hard nope for me when they act like weeping angels lmao

First thing when you enter the mall is to smash all available mannequins. It's makes the level progress a bit easier.
That's what I do usually, but I wanted to maintain the surprise/danger factor for the Possessor Worm debut ;P
First time I played HR I knew something was wrong when I saw that every mannequin had the 8 rotational sprites
