And here we get to see one of the reasons why Luffy is such a great protagonist. When Luffy sees a face that REALLY needs punching, there is no deliberation, no hesitation, just knuckles hitting nose right then and there.

I'm going to assume you're talking about Bellamy and how, when Bellamy started to trash-talk pirates with dreams and beating on Luffy and Zoro, neither one of them so much as raised a hand against them. This wasn't because Luffy was showing restraint against someone who needed to be punched. This was a case of Luffy seeing Bellamy, at that moment, as someone who didn't need to be and wasn't even worth considering punching. That was the whole point: a person who doesn't have dreams isn't worth Luffy's anger, energy, or time. They're small, shallow people and punching them won't actually accomplish anything. It's much the same reason why Shanks didn't fight the mountain bandits when Luffy was a kid: so long as they just targeted Shanks and his crew, who could take it with a laugh, then it wasn't worth lowering themselves to the level of such petty nobodies and possibly making the situation worse.
However, Luffy's view of the necessity to enthusiastically introduce his fist to Bellamy's face changed as soon as Bellamy hurt someone who didn't deserve it: in this case Cricket and the monkey brothers. As soon as Bellamy actually became a problem for people Luffy cared about that weren't able to defend themselves ... THEN his became a face what needed punching. And what a punch it was!

That's why Jeffrey said "really needs punching". Bellamy didn't do anything that warranted a fight. Luffy fights in two situation: To protect a friend and because fighting is his version of "debating". He had nothing to debate with Bellamy since Bellamy had no belief system, no dream, he was empty (you'll notice that Luffy was going to fight him until Bellamy rejected the concept of dreams altogether) and no one was in danger since Bellamy's crew only attacked Luffy and Zoro and they were way too weak to actually hurt them seriously.
I'd say that episode 4 is also a really important episode and great for reactions, as it goes into Luffy's backstory.
After that, though, I'd say the next major reaction-worthy episode is eps. 19, followed by 24.

Episode 4 is very important. Drazu, it's hard to make this progress check style in the first episodes, next ep is really precious to the saga, and Captain Buggy's arc too, so, It's a little sad to not react to these together.

As for Luffy, one of the most captivating things about him is he's easy-going until he comes across a complete jerk, at which point he doesn't even hesitate to fight

Believe it or not, Coby is actually sixteen (that’s only one year younger than Luffy) His short stature is a result of malnutrition and malnourishment having spent the past two years at the bottom of the pecking order with a group of pirates. It’s also assumed there may have been a genetic factor as well, although we have yet to see his parents. Hope that helps!

I don't want to be that guy but please don't skip episodes there are always things that you could miss that could be important later excluding fillers but theirs are funny anyways. You don't have to do reactions for every episode but definitely don't just skip episodes. If you don't want to skip I'd definitely do at least three episodes per post maybe more. Last thing this show does get slow at some points such as some arcs lasting a lot longer than they need to. with everything going on currently its worth every extra minute to watch

Fun fact. Prisoners was on hunger strike and thats the only data we have that they on average survived for 44 days. It is in humane to research those things, but thanks to those prisoners we know. And that was on prison food. So people can survive a long time without food. but we need water after 3 days tho

One Piece is great as it is, but there's this fan edit called One Pace that fixes some pacing problems in it and sticks better to the manga. I highly recommend you use it instead.
