      Still drive my 240 sedan and 245 wagon too! Best cars ever made! Well, the old Mercedes were great cars too.

    Can you do a video on installing the other 52mm gages and relocating the radio? You're a great help to 240 owners

      A few of the 52mm gauge installations are in my queue of videos to edit at some point. Didn't film my recent radio installation, but if I need to redo the stereo system, I'll see what I can do.

    Others say to check the transmission fluid level with the vehicle off. Which is correct?

      looking at other videos, it doesn't seem to matter for this model, it has two sides on the dip stick to check when hot and/or when cold

    Great video, very thorough. I felt like I was watching an 80s How To car video in Automotive Shop back in school. Lol

    Why would you reconsider the flush if there’s bits of metal?

      It's an indication that something is worn or broken, and to my understanding, sometimes flushing ATF in a bad transmission can dislodge even more particulate matter that may be "holding" (although precariously) together.

    Super informative video! I tried this on mine today ('78) and it stopped pumping after 2 qts were pumped out. Is this to be expected?

      Is that a BW55 transmission?

      @Analog_smog 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LongbowMedia Yes, 3 speed with no OD. It drove significantly better with 2 quarts pumped out and replaced, I'm just curious why it stopped just short of 2 being pumped out

    Would you speak to the kind of dipstick on the trans oil pan that does not remove with the big nut, but, in fact, needs to stay on the oil pan when removing. Bill at Voluparts calls this a major design flaw. My '92 240 had this nut. I mangled the tube, bought another from Voluparts (too short, off a 940) bought another one with correct length dipstick still attached with the big nut not designed to come off. I'm currently trying to thread the dip stick up through the jungle of hoses and cables to reconnect. Ever hear of this? Thanks. D Day

    Needing to do this on my 81 245, any thoughts to why my reverse is not deciding to show up when it wants to on the AW55?
