Don't confuse hold entries with procedure turns. Hold entries are racetrack, offset or parallel. PTs are hockey stick (standard) or direct (racetrack). There is no parallel procedure turn as you would intercept the inbound track far too late. In the depiction the aircraft is flying clockwise in the turn so it is a hockey stick or standard entry.
But most FMSs can't do a proper procedure turn, all they are programmed to do is a 30deg 'offset' which looks like a teardrop. That is what is happening here. The aircraft is flying clockwise, right hand turn, in a pattern that looks like a teardrop. It is not a parallel entry. Hope that clears things up.
Dear Aviation Week, does the LEAR 75 have AT`s (AUTOTHROTTLES) or am I mistaken. I thought I saw a control knob on the MCP with FMS/MAN (manual) SWITCH from which I deduce it has the AT`s. Another thought: why don`t they make the LEAR75 SINGLE PILOT (if a CITATION CJ4 and a PHENOM 300 can be so). The lear isn`t that much larger than a PHENOM 300.
Kinda of weird to hear "LearJet 75 built by Bombardier" In Wichita! Just doesn't have that nice sound to it. Not sure what Bill Lear would say to that if he was still around. But all things considered, this Lear does look a much improved version. Great video.
A mask is required by one pilot above FL350 unless both pilots have quick donning masks that can be donned in less than 5 seconds. One pilot must wear a mask above FL410 at all times.
I really like this brain the quality is there. it beat the lear in every way, make sure you see the inside of lear jet at least the first ones were very tiny 4 sitting barely no way for sleeping.
Buying one is the easy part. Fueling them sucks. Learjet 35s "older" when we test fly one, they use about 2 grand worth of fuel during takeoff. Add in maintenance costs, and annuals. Lol, I'm glad I get to just test fly them lol.
You get to fl430 isa -4 with 1/2 tanks and the 75 does .78! Really!!!! The 31a will run through redline .81 at that temp with the same amount of fuel! Given the 31 will not go as far per full fuel but really! Why is the 75 so slow. I prefer isa plus a few for the extra speed. I have videos of 460kts at fl430 and 455kts at fl450.
ww24pilot the 31 is about 3/4 the size and weight of the 75 its hard to tell unless you see them sitting next to each other in the Hanger on how small the 31 actually is
Lol. Like there is really a big difference between .78 and .81. Once you’ve flown the Citation X all these .75-.80 jets feel like old news. We would climb at .82 in the X and cruise all day long at .92. Typical TAS of 510-520 kts. Funny that they used to be called ‘slowtations’ by Lear drivers, and now we are leaving Lears in our dust.
thank you captain : what is the minimum speed for landing
2:40 That is not a teardrop entry, it's a parallel entry.

The offset hold entry is the 'teardrop' you refer to.

Where did you buy that neat iPad Learjet logo cover!?
Did you.. fly it..? Hoped for commentary on maneuvers and handling

Ok, I'm getting one tomorrow.
Why was one of the pilots wearing an oxygen mask?
A mask is required by one pilot above FL350 unless both pilots have quick donning masks that can be donned in less than 5 seconds. One pilot must wear a mask above FL410 at all times.
Is the "one pilot must wear above FL410" also in the case of not having quick donning masks, or just in general?

That would be a parallel entry not a teardrop....
It's only 18 Million. I better get started counting my penny's!

Wish I had 10-15 million for a Lear... :(
Oh so I only need like three trillion dollars.
It didn't call out 50, 40, 30. Boo fricken hoo

soooo easy
At 03:29 the copilot pushes the throttles. That's a sure way to get chopped in the dome! CRM mothafukka!
