I am eager to learn what new ideas come out in v3. Game balance ( make machine gun teams effective ! ). More variation/choices/surprise potential ( give officers more actions ). Bolster and expand minor nations ( I play Greek ). I am looking forward to learn what v3 has to offer!

hiSPD, yeah i agree about MMG teams, a the moment i prefer a 5 man squad with a LMG to a mmg Team, i find it more effective, giving officers more commands sounds an interesting possibility, :)

Granted I'm new to Bolt Action but it is an interesting development.
I wonder if the opportunity for truly unique forces will come in the context of re-balancing some of the units.
For example if the Nebelwerfer in the new rules takes a few turns to reload after firing then it might balance out as 5 would be extremely vulnerable between turns.
But as I've never played Bolt Action I don't know how the mechanics would work.

@@edspace. interesting idea, I was thinking they may reduce the splash range to D3 instead of D6

@@GDWargames That would also work, especially if the pre-existing splash mechanics are based on a die role this would sync up quite well to it and players would already be used to the mechanic.
Does system failure exist in bolt-action?

I hear your concern but as a non competitive player it does not bother me. I keep it historical with true OOB. The unique lists will be for the competitive gamers. If Warlord wants to cater for all types of players they should put in true OOBs and the competitive OOB.

So I am wondering if the army wide/special rules each force gets is gone/changing!

I agree allowing list building like that you might as well play 40k
Hopefully it will be more like instead of one generic platoon there is an early war platoon, mid war platoon, late war platoon
