Awesome experiment. I bought the Viper I think its called from Tim last year. Its the one with the pistol grip. Dream come true when that thing came. Backyard fun for as long as your lungs can hold. The wife saw how fun it is and is always trying to compete with me now.

115 fps (4 ft Big Bore, compared to 126 fps that 5ft Big Bores, isn't 50% more. There is a difference in velocity,however, the shorter 4ft has it's own advantages (no 2piece with connector,,means no loss in speed or accuracy..

If you are going to buy one, get any of the two 5ft ones,either the Tim Wells or the 5ft Big Bore.They are the same except for the looks and some very minor changes in plastic parts etc. They shoot the same,they perform the same. Tim Wells himself, uses mostly the Black one insead of his signature version.
Cold Steel does have a two piece 5-foot blowgun. The Tim Wells blowguns are a collaboration with Cold Steel.
I own a big bore blowgun. I love it!! I keep a cane tip on the end of it and it is the perfect height for a walking stick for me. I have made a pocket organizer kit to carry my darts and also convert it to a cane pole for fishing. I have also use to set up my tarp. Never go into the woods without it!

I have the cs big bore and professional which is longer and thicker walled. I also own the Slockmaster. Im about to buy Tim Wells Viper blow gun and he's soon going to release the black Mamba blow gun, which looks to be at least a foot longer. It's longer then Tim is tall so I'm definitely getting one of those as well. I've always loved all weapons and have too many to count and blow guns are one of my favorite.
I have a pair of these, both came from Cold Steel ton of fun, but unfortunately they aren't legal for hunting where I live (Nebraska) but I'm thinking about taking a trip to Missouri just so I can try it out on squirrels/ rabbits :)

I have a 6' long single piece big bore that Coldsteel used to sell. It packs a punch!
Thems was the days. I had two 6' ers. Stolen, and now forever irreplaceable. Still hurts me.
Especially effective when paired with fast acting "substances" on the darts. I learned from tribal people in the jungle as well as passed down through my own Ute Aztecan heritage.

How thick is the metal on yours? I just got the Tim well’s signature series and mine looks like a 16th of an inch or thinner…. Definitely couldn’t use as a walking stick or hit anything with it
I could walk with it, but I couldn’t strikewith it. Ours is prob the same.
The're metric. Wall thickness is 1.⁷ Mm. Super thin.
The Cold Steel "Professional Model" Blowguns are a whoppin' 3.⁵ Mm. wall thickness, of sturdy aluminum tubing.
They also have the superior mouthpieces. They're still around, in 4' one-piece lengths. The days of the Cold Steel Professional Model 5' one-piece blowguns are well past us, now.

I love the blowgun 😁 same time ✊. Pin point accuracy and power. Allot of people underestimate its power. You can see there is a difference between the two. Great experiment. I think the same like what you where saying in the prepping mindset. When I was younger we used to hunt Guineafowl with them with precision. I heard of a person who actually used a smaller one that was home made when there home was being invaded, not near as long as the big bore and slock master, roughly from floor to hip length and I heard that the inner diameter was 16 mm. As I'm curious and I asked 🤣, teach me more 🤣. Apparently from what I heard pin point accuracy and it was NARLEY.

It’s a crying shame of how much freedom been taken away here in Canada, one person fks up and the rest of the country goes on high alert. I went to House of Knives yesterday , the kitchen knives on the wall display were as mean looking as one would want to take in woods go figure, the pocket knives are to be thrown in garbage they are absolute junk from what I can tell compared to something from just a few years ago. If we buy, talk online or use a credit card anywhere we’re now on their list of knowing. Can I walk around with a wicked kitchen knife no my side. May as well make our own stuff for what it’s worth. Eventually all countries will do the same and then most people will be cornered and in fear of what is next to come. My heart is broken to see what people are letting go without a fight. The funny part is if someone breaks in your home and you beat the tar out of him you will be the guilty one. Too many weak dumb down people with no backbone. Give plastic weapons to play with to remind us to keep it alive rather than hide it. I’ve never harmed anybody just the accidental odd scar here and there on myself to remind me that it hurts enough to not want someone else to feel it too. After these companies make their millions the junk we bought has to be recycled. It’s not even funny no more, next TH-cam will delete all videos pertaining towards anything other than plastic weapons. I don’t need or want weapons I want the freedom to make up my own fking mind!
