A good explanation Les. The GTN Xi is a very useful bit of kit.

Good morning Les, this was another very interesting lesson for the upcoming pilots who want to gain more depth in their hobby, including yours truly.
Wonderful to be able to gather all this knowledge with the help of your knowledge and expertise.
I hope to be able to track down a video in which the ATC says about 10 to 20 nm before arrival that a runway change has taken place due to a change in wind direction.
It is not difficult to switch on a second PC and change the flight plan, you have to do it in the cockpit with the resources available, in my opinion, it always makes me quite nervous.🥵
I wrote this using Google translate to avoid things coming across the wrong way, have a nice day Les, the sun is shining brightly here, summer has started.

Yes getting a change to landing runway can be intense. A good way to "buy some time" is to Ask the Controller to give you an Initial heading to fly. That will allow you to go into HDG mode and Fly in the direction he expects you to be going. Then you can change your Approach (and STAR if needed) and activate the Direct To the Waypoint your cleared too then resume NAV mode on the AP.

Thank you for your answer Les, good morning, I think I will practice with flight plans without preset Approch and wait to see what ATC has to offer.
I wish you a nice Sunday Les and I think I'll just move around the corner from you, you would be a good buddy for me.💕
