    One thing you should add is that the gasket for the oil filter adapter is different for the teksid. I found this out the hard way a few days ago. The gasket for the iron blocks have a larger coolant opening and there isn't enough material on the teksid block to properly sandwich the gasket. The gasket for the teksid has a shorter opening for the coolant. I just swapped gaskets on my car today actually lol.

    • @ExcessiveMotorsports

      The answer is buy the proper piston with reliefs in them. I cannot support adding reliefs to stock pistons or pistons not designed for valve reliefs. Watch my cam degree video where I explain how the top ring is reduced from the valve relief.

    It would be cool if you could cover flywheels / clutch setups and their interchangeability between engines, transmissions, years, and manual or hydraulic throwout bearings, etc. I've talked to a few companies now and don't really get good answers. Seen the tech tips on your website, but doesn't go into full detail either. For example a 99 5.4 engine with 8 bolt crank that will be used with a T-56. One would assume you can use a regular 8 bolt 96-04 setup just fine even if the transmission is different, and the 03-04 cobra t-56 setup would be more inline with the application, but can the 03-04 setup work fine with a manual throwout bearing? What about using the gt500 setup or does the transmission difference cause a problem? Also seen flywheels that say 4.6,5.4, and coyote, and other sellers selling stock coyote flywheels for use with 4.6 and 5.4.. Some talked about using spacers and some say to use straight up. If you can use the coyote flywheel then you can use the whole clutch setup as well with 4.6 and 5.4? I feel like there are some more rules to follow past bolt amount, balance, and flywheel / clutch size and you guys could help with this.

    How about a 2v budget build, iron block romeo , gen 2 coyote rods, if they will work, slap in junk yard parts and see how long it lasts, my ol 2v new edge is not work a 3k short block,
    I'm gonna give it shot I have a set of gen2 coyote rods and pistons, I'm sure valve reliefs in gen 2 pistons won't work on a 2v even if you took bore to correct mm, otherwise it's the go to is eagle for low dollar forged rotating assy,

    Loving all the videos and tips man!! Thanks modular head shop!! I have a WAP aluminum block in my car now that came in it. I’m getting ready to do the on3 turbo kit on my car but plan to build the motor first. Are the WAP blocks the same as the teksid as far as needing that coolant passage port drilled? Again the motor is currently in my car and runs fine with no overheating issues but if I have it apart was wondering if that hadn’t been done and needs to it would be a very good time to do so 😂 thanks again for all the help!

    So when putting stock pi I heads and cams on the teksid block. Will valve have clearance from the pistons? Or would pistons need to be changed?

    • @ExcessiveMotorsports
      @ExcessiveMotorsports  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The piston to valve clearance will not change. Both 2V and 4V pistons, regardless of dish size will have the same PTV clearance. This is because the valve to piston interference is greatest towards the edge of the piston and not near the middle where the volume would make a difference.
