Rage against the machine Audioslave & the prophets would be NOTHING without this guy. He is SO right about modern tubes. Oldschool Ampegs ROCK and he likes trek mountain bikes. He thinks like I do. LEGEND! 🤩
what he said about creating music with others is so true..It is really hard to find the right group of people to gel with, and when you do, it is magic...and you cant go wrong with Ampegs
I've been touring with an SVT-2 Pro for over 10 years now. Nothing else I've played through compares. I prefer it over the CL heads for sure. You can dial in how hard you want to hit the front end and the power amp independently. You can get it exactly where you like it. It makes the EQ section even more useful. I get a general tone with the CL style knob EQ, then I use the graphic EQ as a footswitchable mid boost. It's really an awesome amp. It's also been relatively reliable. Couple blown tubes and a burnt resistor. Was still able to fix it myself with the help of the internet.
I don’t like the band or the style of music whatsoever, but him talking about the “pulse” applies to all music. This is exactly what I want from my bass tone, to feel that pulse and put that pulse into the music I play. It doesn’t matter what style of music, the bass should always be that pulse and Ampeg will get you that everytime!
Fender Bassman and a 2-15 cab. Yep, in High School in 1980-83 that was my rig. I hated it. Started compressing and distorting way too early and it could not keep up. Yeah Rush, Yes. Kansas. The Who, Joe Jackson and Elvis Costello were all influences.
He's always been one of my big playing influences yet I never knew he started off on a G3. Its a bit of a coincidence as I play a Grabber and a homebrew Stingray as my main weaponry through an SVT sim on Amplitube.
Guaoooooooo !!
gotta vibrate … i understand everything he says here i also play ampeg; svt3 115/410 and there’s nothing like it in the world. markbass is good, i admit, but ampeg is something special.
Came here to the app from the tv so I can comment. …it’s TOTALLY worth it. …Unequivocally. Obviously the dream is to have BOTH. If you saw here or watch a lot of his stuff, he has both. The orange has a better distorted tone but the Ampeg will make you pass kidney stones my boi!
1991 I purchased an SVT2 non-pro which is better sounding in my opinion. In regards to reliability, not so good. This November 2021 my Stingray will turn 30 years of age.
One of my favorites. His parts always mean so much. Never overplays. Perfect example is "Like a Stone".
Finally getting some more attention. One of the musicians that got me into starting playing bass.
The real reason: he doesn’t have to carry them anymore 😂

He thinks like I do. LEGEND! 🤩
Morello's solos were so out there, what kept it groovy and so hypnotic was Tim's bass lines.
He was the backbone of Rage's sound.

One of my favorite bassist...skill & performance!
Dang that wood and black stingray looks nice!

Probably the best interview I've seen, agree with him fully when it comes to music!
He is a true Rock Bass Hero!
The SVT’S are freakin’ monsters.
Nothing can touch an Ampeg SVT.
My favourite bass player right here

I play bass and Ampeg too. Thanks Tim C!
Yeah, Tim is a legit artist.
Still have my 70's V4B 215 Cab and 66 Gibson EB3, for over 40 years
Yup I’m gonna have to agree with you there Tim. If nothing else the loudest bass amp you can buy.
I don’t give up my SVTs either
I had a pair of SVTs each with the 8-10 cabinet. Used to make my pants lags wave with the air they could move.
What a bassist ❤️❤️
Simply great soud !
Rage In Agreement With The Machine
loved this interview
i agree ampeg svt really is the best bass amp by a country mile.
The tone is just spot on.

Another Geddy Lee protege! Gotta love it. Rush rocks!
I like this guy.
I love the backing track
Awesome!!!
Yeah Tim’s a badass.
So nobody is gonna talk about the B15NC is the back????
Hey, no better way to learn bass than learning Rush songs.
Guaoooooooo !!
What portaflex rig is that at 0:25...?!?!
Right on.
If you are on the fence about Buying a heavy weight SVT --- BUY IT - You wont regret it and never sell it till you're 80
My Idol
Tim's tattoos are sick
"Timmy C kick the bass in"
BADASS

I love the sound of SVT's but they're just so incredibly expensive here in the UK. I just can't justify 50% more expensive than an Orange AD200B
Sometimes, the sound would be justification enough hahaaha

SVT 4 Pro, bi-amped.
He’s the fuckin punisher
what band is the guy with the arab tunic ? Thanks
prophets of rage
That’s B-Real of the rap group Cypress Hill. Check out the “Black Sunday” album in its entirety. Cypress Hill is awesome.
Rush damn it
Ampeg SVT with a sansamp, name a better couple I'll wait
Learning from listening to Geddy Lee is not a bad way to learn.
1991 I purchased an SVT2 non-pro which is better sounding in my opinion. In regards to reliability, not so good. This November 2021 my Stingray will turn 30 years of age.
neat
The truth
Why this have no comments lol
