I was at this show! I was only 13, watched 2 opening bands from the stands (the place was Temple University's football stadium), but whe Cactus started I went down to the field and remember thinking "this is great!". They were killer, then followed by Steve Miller, the Grateful Dead, and Jimi Hendrix... My 1st concert!

I saw Zeppelin Jan 1975 in Chicago for $6. And they were good seats.

Thanks for the review, Pete. Yep, concert tickets were much more reasonably priced back in the day but to compare, was earning about $1.00 an hour - after a recent raise - at the job which paid for gas money, albums, concerts, etc. No wonder comics weren't bought for awhile. Enough digression - thanks for the review. Seems like this will need to be checked out since was a big fan of the live Vanilla Fudge album in the late part of the 60s. Thanks again.

The best live version of "Parchman Farm" yet. McCarty tries to recreate the licks he did in the studio (which were wicked), and a nice live recording too. A must have for Cactus fans.

Wow. $6.50 for a day of music with all those great bands. If you had $10 you would be set. Sounds like my kinda day. Great review.

On a related note Rock & Roll the final Vanilla Fudge album starts off with Need Love and hot damn that is the blueprint for Cactus right there!

Any Cactus after Rusty Day & Jim McCarty left is Blah... (even Peter French led band... and he's a great singer & front man...) - the chemistry with any line up other than Day, McCarty, Appice & Bogert is lackluster... at best.

Jim McCarty was the best guitarist alive at that time, and probably now too.

Love me some Cactus, but damn. I already have Fully Unleashed: The Live Gigs, Fully Unleashed: The Live Gigs Vol. II, Ultra Sonic Boogie 1971, and TKO Tokyo - Live in Japan.
That instrumental version of "One Way...or Another" is intriguing...and "Sweet Sixteen"...dammit...

Good review, but how is that harmonica?

An OK band, these tunes are from 1970, the same year as their 1st release. Two good tracks for me: "Feel So Good" & "One Way...Or Another" but then again there are only 6 total tunes on the album. Sound quality is OK (it's from 1970 after all). I could do without some of the covers. The blues "No Need To Worry" has some good guitar breaks, rough vocals but hey...I like their 2nd & 3rd albums One Way...Or Another & Restrictions: "Rock N' Roll Children", "Song For Aries", "Alaska", "Guiltless Glider" & "Restrictions" are really good. These guys were a boogie band, christened as the "American Led Zeppelin” by some (not me), they never really strayed too far from their delta blues roots. Similar maybe to the first couple of Zep albums...I'm more partial to the Beck, Bogert & Appice team-up (one studio record & two live albums), especially live, but that's because of Jeff Beck. I think that power trio was also a bit more funky
