@naughtiusmaximus830 thank you I still like watching him. That redux / distilling rig that was used to capture NOx was pretty cool . I’m going to do that next . Instead of building a scrubber for the hood right now.
@ Feminist like to make a big deal how the patriarchy forced Madame Curie to work in the stables. The reality is they knew how nasty the shit she was working with was and didn’t want it in the building. Lung cancer seems more common in chemists. In the past anyway.
Hey Hill. Nice job. Man, I need to get into some silver processing. But not yet. For now, I’ll just enjoy watching your journey. I use 20 mule team borax and I blow plenty of it away. 😅
A little maintenance work 👌 I don't know what kind of borax you use, mine is water based and I need to melt the borax in the crucible first before adding the metals to the crucible for melting. Otherwise my borax will fly away 🙂
Mine too I didn’t think about melting it first . Jeez I do things the hard way some times I heat the metal up then add some flux I was rushing a just grabbed a chunk and rolled w/ it. I was going to try and seperate solutions later today by freezing really do like how you maximize your value on reusing solutions and salts
@ Strongly suggest a face mask around any hot acids. I use a fan mostly outside. This is where it would be nice to own your home so you can cut holes in the roof etc.
@ I trust airflow more than respirators. I am very allergic to wheat dust and I used to work with breeding. No matter what the respirator I would be near anaphylactic shock after about 4 hours.
So much to learn. I have a very good background in chemistry and I still feel like a noob.
Me too
@ I like your channel more than Sreetips. He is kinda on production level while you are experimenting with new things.

@ Is that to recycle silver nitrate? I don’t want to mess with nitric fumes at my level. If I had a barn somewhere I would.

Me too plus I use it in the laundry also.
Cool👍
Thanks

A few mls of hot sulfuric should dissolve the copper maybe as a test. I would wear face shield and other protection in case of splatter.
Sometimes I wear safety glasses bad habit on my part but I did wear I respirator
