I’ve heard from my other colleagues that the pay for Filipino teachers in Thailand is different compared to other nationalities. But I don’t blame Thailand for that coz filipinos are desperate to find a job with a decent salary.

@@dantesalazar7805 yes and they also said that few years back, Thailand used to offer higher salary but some fellow Filipinos tend to accept lower offers that’s why through the years the offer went down. It’s also happening in Taiwan now.

Check out China town. At night or some nights they block off streets and all the restaurant's open up to the sidewalks for street food. Looks like it could be fun.
Bangkok is a lot more diverse compared to Manila. When I was there, I had biryani at a Yemeni restaurant in the Arab quarter which was the best biryani I've ever had in my life. BGC is an awesome place to live though so if you can afford it, not a bad idea to be based in BGC and travel around Asia.

I've lived in Bangkok for two years and I call bullshit that this condo is $500 usd (18k baht). A 2 bedroom unit, near Ekkamai BTS. No way; not possible. 22-25k baht at best and that would be for a 1BD or studio. All listing on Facebook marketplace for this building are north of 25k+ for 1bd.
You say 500, but when you go on the website the cheapest condo at the siamese is 40k for a dinky 1 bedroom.
You must be able to get a MUCH lower price in person than online I reckon?
Yeah, Thailand I think has ALOT of negotiation there, they are so weak in Thailand, they will do anything to win over visitors to stay there, including gutting prices to the ground; I dont even understand it.

Glad to see You back in Thailand. Your coverage of the Philippines was "Excellent". I use to visit married friends there from 2005 to 2012 2 to 3 times a year. Plan on visiting Bangkok this Fall.

and now live in Texas. I can tell you that the
same retail jobs pay $1 5k to $20k more in
CA. I also found that services here in TX are
more than in CA. Restaurants are more
expensive in TX in my experience as well.

For this time Bangkok wins over MANILA, but wait after 8 to 10 years Im sure Manila will win because as of now to many reclamation in Manila Bay are now being done, The Manila Horizon City, The Solar City, and many more. Also soon by 2028 Philippines will have the biggest and modern Airport in Asia and its located in Bulacan about 1 1/2 hours from Manila. Lastly a Subway train is now being built in Manila. As of now to many infrastructure are now being done by the government because of the build build build program.

Transportation is better, I'm not sure if food is better though, but my sis and aunt said it's like they just went to the Philippines but the vendor policy is way better in Thailand compared to Manila but as Mergim said Philippines is more pet friendly than in Thailand.

Mergim, you've been living in Bangkok and Manila, I think it would be perfect if you then move to Jakarta. Those three are 3 largest metropolis and most populous cities in Southeast Asia, each one of them has its own pros and cons.

Shoot no brainer, I would choose Thailand for cheap monthly rentals and lower cost of living. That’s why most foreigners would probably go2 Thailand. The difference though is the not so pleasing to the eyes…garden view or is that a park? I have to say BGC and Makati have stunning parks.
