Let us never forget, Roman law is not what condemned Jesus, Greek philosophy did not reject his teachings, and even the lowest of his own society did not hate him. But his own Jewish religion, people, laws demanded his death, and said "May his blood be on us and on our children!"

so don't forget he was a true politician he let the people dictate his actions despite knowing what was right. His wife begged him to free Jesus after a prophetic dream she didn't understand until Jesus was standing before him. Yes he was reluctant but carried out the sentence all the same. I used to be catholic and I think a lot of the times catholics over sympathize with the decision he had to make but he should really be a lesson of peer pressure and going against your conscience (God wrote the law on our hearts).

@@Bolaway The New Testament was mainly written in Greek and parts of it in Hebrew. The Greek language was also a fairly common language in 1st century Judea. "Alpha and Omega" isn't an adulteration if the original texts were in Greek.

Here's a fun fact about Romans: they never permitted corpses to be taken down from crosses. Letting the condemned rot and decompose on the cross was part of the punishment.
