PSA: Beeper mini (and iMessage integration in the main Beeper app) have been broken by Apple
Damn, that was quick.
Another PSA: it is now back functional again. lol. Got a lot of bad reviews ovcer the weekend though from users who found out about the app from places like this only to have it not work due to being blocked by Apple.
Apple also put out a statement about how they are trying to block Beeper Mini and any other services that manage to get into their iMessage service because it is "unsecure", and will adversely affect iPhone users by letting people without an iPhone to contact them under the appearing of being in the Apple ecosystem.
And they have been fixed

Had an Android friend start messaging me yesterday on iMessage. It works really well, videos and photos are clear. This barrier shouldn't exist and Apple should find other ways to compete.

@@theharesbreath Yeah it looks like that. I'm able to SMS with iPhones on the regular beeper app. I'll give it till tomorrow morning to see if they have fixed it but after that I'll be gone

The GR Yaris is an amazing vehicle that a lot of people would kill to get a dealer allocation for. The Yaris cross is different
The GR Yaris is more than just a car. It is a special thing. A rally homologation special based on a project that was cancelled but they decided to build the road car for anyway
It is the only 3 door Yaris, has a carbon roof, a very advanced all-wheel-drive system, weighs about 2600 lbs and has 260hp.
Also looks pretty sick and sounds pretty awesome
right?! Once of the most impressive hatchbacks (if not new cars) of the last few years.

Most would argue the Ferrari F40 is the first production car to hit 200 mph. The 69' Charger Daytona that hit 200 mph was a heavily modified NASCAR version. (edit: I would have expected Marques to know that 😆)
And not only that but Richard drove for **Plymouth**. Buick is a GM brand and has been since since 1908. Richard was also not a brand loyalist and would jump ship to who's ever car was fastest quite regularly through out his career especially in the pre-modern era where the cars did infact start as production cars(modern era being kinda mid 80's onward with the advent of everything starting as a tube chassis with body panels that resembled the road cars over top)

the fact that they didnt know the GR yaris or even what GR means in toyota just shows that they are not car people, they are just tech people... the problem is they talk about cars as if they have the same elevel of expertise as in tech

I hate to be that guy, but the trivia question about the first “production” car to reach 200mph is a bit off. The Dodge Charger Daytona referenced in the answer is a heavily modified race car, and is not the production version of the Daytona. The typical answer is Ferrari F40 is the first “production” car to reach 200 mph, and even that is slightly controversial since I remember hearing it did 199 point something. Some consider the Ruf CTR “Yellowbird” to be the actual owner of that record since it did 213 MPH. I hope I don’t come off as a rude “Well actually” guy, so I’m sorry for that. I have no idea why when you look up first car to reach 200, it automatically goes to a lap done in NASCAR.

And if you’re really curious, the first car to reach 200 mph ever was the Sunbeam 1000 HP in a land speed record at Daytona Beach (203 mph) in 1927.

the 'mood' for voice message could actually be incredibly useful. it's like adding a color-tag to your messages so they're easier to find back. The problem is, people using voice messages don't normally care much about sercheability to begin with :'D

GR Yaris is like a rally car for the road it was a homligation wrc car but the rules changed in wrc so it never actually got to race in wrc in that form they sell the GR corolla in the us with the same powertrain and it's even got the same awd with a bit more power

Apple runs all of the iMessage servers free of charge for it's users. You're paying the premium for the device to enjoy all of the benefits Apple brings you. THAT they may have a leg to stand on, because this will drastically increase the server usage on Apple's end. Not to mention, Beeper Mini is utilizing all of the features Apple provides, making money off of it, and not paying for anything.
@@KelhamJack how nice of apple to generously let us use their imessage servers free of cost its a shame evil greedy services like Whatsapp, Signal, Messenger and Telegram make us pay to use theirs. Whatsapp even forces me to do some of their backend maintenance every once in a while to use their audio calling feature!

UPDATE: Beeper is broken, because Apple has blocked it.
Apple will probably get around beeper by including hardware identifying data, or a way to fetch it, in the registration message. Like serial numbers, imei, device keys, etc...
Never underestimate any company's desire for compete control of their product
That's already what there doing and beeper is sending a Mac or iPhone serial number to the server so then it appears to Apple as if it's a real device
They can't do this easily. Any updates to the iMessage protocol will kill compatibility with older versions of iOS (and Apple would have to release an update patch for any phones and Macs they still want supported). Also, Beeper could also send "hardware identifying data" ripped from a real iPhone.

The 200 MPH answer is incorrect. The 1969 Daytona was heavily modified and was a one off, it’s not considered a “production car”.
The first production car to hit 200 MPH was the Ferrari F40.

Need to correct you on that one : the new watch unlock feature is actually different from "extend unlock"/trusted bluetooth, which has existed for years indeed, including with PW.
- Contrary to extend unlock, it checks for distance between you phone and watch (with bluetooth strength I assume). I have it, when I'm more than 30 cm away from my phone, it doesn't unlock.
- It automatically unlocks your phone when fingerprint attempt takes to long or fails
- It warns you on your watch so you can re lock your phone by tapping on the notification
It's much safer and fluid than extend unlock. Truely great for me.

Honda is definitely counting every trim level of those EVs as different "models" within that 30. So they would count Hyundai as having like "9" EV models because they have 3 trims for their three actual EVs the IONIQ5 and 6 and the Kona Electric.
Well they definitely did something to this last update because my Google Assistant was broken this morning. I had to force stop the whole Google experience and clear the cache for it to actually start working again. A simple play the news wouldn't work even after a reboot.

50:00 Useless info but felt like sharing, the Toyota Yaris Cross, is a different vehicle to the GR Yaris, or the Normal Yaris. Its a Sub SUB Compact SUV and looks quite different to the Yaris/GR.

sorry for being that guy but Dodge Daytona was NOT the first production car to do 200mph. That would be the Ferrari F40. It was the NASCAR racecar version of Daytona that could do 200 mph but it was NOT the same as the street going car you could buy in a dealership.

1st production car at 200- Ferrari F40… although it seems like that was marketing to position it ahead of the Porsche 959. From what I’m reading, no one was able to actually achieve 200 in an F40.
