    Slender Man would probably be better to adapt in a mystery thriller, where detectives have to chase a child snatcher, who uses Slender Man lore as a cover to throw of the investigation.

    I think Roman was fascinated by Sidney as well. And in his sick mind, he hoped they would become a family. To him the big vilain of the story, was their mother.

    Prometheus wasn’t as much of a mess as it’s…. Sequel…
    Thing is, the Space Jockey in Alien is massive, so massive that a whole person could climb into the opening left by the chest burster, yet the engineers aren’t as big. No where near…

    Such a shame those changes happened to the 2011 The Thing. Yeah, i have seen it, and while it's far from the best. I'll still give it credit for matching up the looks of the areas and buildings of the original movie and having parts tie into the original like the axe location, bodies, etc.

    For scream, they really could have changed the backstory just a little. Roman, after becoming a director for the movie looks further into the past and discovers what happened. from that he becomes obsessed with Sidney and decides to torture her by forcing her to relive the memory of the first movie. could even make it more of a split personality type thing. where maybe even he doesn't realize he's the killer. cliche, but that's also the point of the series.

    The problem with some of these horror adaptations is they are nothing but cash grabs! They aren't produced by fans of horror and don't understand what makes a character such as slenderman scary in the first place !

    Valentines- Dorothy was the only one who accused Jeremy. He killed the others for rejecting him, although it was more Dorothy and her frustration - overweight girl ignored by everyone, even her friends. I took it as they worked together. In the end though, he chose the only one who was nice to him.

    I don't disagree with Wesker being on this list. There were so many issues with how they translated him into the movies. However, I do feel the fight scene was pretty cool. I actually got a little excited see the fight from RE5. That was about it, though. His death in The Final Chapter made me giggle more than anything. He was especially disappointing in that one.

    This is my first time hearing about the original Prometheus script and my heart legitimately kept sinking lower and lower the more I heard. I don’t think I’ve felt such a huge level of disappointment in a very very long time. That movie could have easily been one of the best of the decade.

    Disagree on Hoffman. He is amazing and my favorite of the Saw franchise after John. Hoffman’s motivations actually don’t change. He just spiraled because he had to keep trying to cover himself and not be found out and things got way out of hand and he went complete rabid dog. Everything is very consistent with Hoffman.
    I’m all about him and his films are my favorite.

    I don't necessarily mind Roman's plan - at least the portions self contained in Scream 3. He wanted Sydney to break the same we be broke begore dealing the killing blow. Cool. A bit on the nose but that's Scream. It's the retconning that annoys the hell out of me.

    The whole point of Hellraiser was the Priest (Pinhead) and the Cenobites are all worshippers in the Church of pain. So when Roland achieved his gift, it was the gift of pain. For all eternity, which is what the Cenobites strive for.

    In all honesty, Roman Bridger and Roland Voight are not true villains. They were antagonists, but they were completely out of their depth and either taken out by the hero or consumed by something much... older. Roman Bridger was a guy motivated by hate and envy over Sidney's survival; rather pettily I might add. Roland Voight is basically Frank Cotton. Only he doesn't like getting his hands dirty and thinks that his wealth and power gives him an edge when it doesn't; in fact, I wouldn't consider there to be a true villain in Hellraiser (2022).

    That was such a sad day at the cinema when i came out of watching The Thing (2011). The attention to detail to the original was absolutely amazing and flawless (windows being broken,axe placement and such). And for it all to be ruined by rushed dreadful CGI is what makes it even more sad to me as the 1982 film is one of my all time favorites. I hope the morons who made those decisions at the studio got fired and banned from ever working in film again.

  • @DanteYewToob
    @DanteYewToob ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The Thing 2011 is a huge disappointment to me… the movie is actually pretty good, I love the idea of the prequel lining up perfectly and explaining the odd locations and bodies..
    it had so much potential. It was so close to being amazing and could’ve been a classic but studio dickheads gotta ruin everything.

  • @AustynSN
    @AustynSN 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Roman didn't "just stab Sidney" because....
    A) He's a psychopath and enjoys torturing people, especially her.
    B) The entire thing is supposed to be a parody of how so many horror movie franchises were playing out at the time. (Particularly Wes Craven's own "Nightmare on Elmstreet" series)
    To start with, you get a horror film from a relatively unknown director. It blows up at the box office and everybody loves it. The studio wants a sequel, but the director wants to move on to other work. Since the studio owns all the rights to the film, they get other directors to make it and more. Finally, when the entire series is played out and nobody cares anymore, the studio finally convinces the original director (who is now world famous and well known) to come back and make a "final chapter".
    Scream was that first film. Scream 2 was all those middle sequels with Nancy Loomis and Mickey Altieri standing in for all the directors. Scream 3, with its retcon that Roman Bridger was a secret third and lead killer in the first movie stands as the "triumphant return of the director to end the series".
    -----------------------------
    Continuing the idea that the series matches real world horror movie paterns, Scream 4 is about remakes like "A Nightmare on Elmstreet" 2010. The fact that "The New SIdney" is actually the killer is reflective of how the audience usually hates the remakes and considers them a crime against the originals.
    Scream V is of course about both legacy sequels that don't do the original characters justice (Think Disney's sequels Star Wars. Not horror, but it's the best example) and the entitled fans who think they know best. The attempts by Amber and Richie to make everybody think Sam was the killer reflects the fans ideas that characters (or their descendents) should stay the same.
    The strangest thing about this film to me is that it seems like it simultaneously criticizes the fans for their entitlement while also avoiding the failures that so many crappy legacy sequels get criticized for.

    Equally, the fact you think that Roman Bridger retcons the lore of Scream is equally laughable. He retconned nothing, merely acting a deeper level to proceedings -- which is what even Randy says is the point of a third instalment in a trilogy.
