We were told by a medical geneticist (MD) after Katie died that we should not have any more children. (We had 3). We tried to adopt immediately, but it took 5 years. In the meantime, Elizabeth was born biologically. Then when I was 46 (and I thought I was through with the season of having babies) I found myself pregnant. I was 47 when I had Monica, and she married last year. AMDG!!

I had a baby with Trisomy 18. She lived 4 days. Her passing prepared me for her dad's passing 17 years later.
