Removal of a 40 metre grey gum in belgrave. contracting to Gotcha Stumped tree services. the tree was very wobbly and quite a challenge to bring down. especially in heavy rain
You could use speed line slings to reduce the swing and wobble or even do a "fishing line" with in those skinny ones. Glad you went smaller. Good work.
Enjoyed the video. Oh to be young again. Young and fearless. There was a time.....maybe 50 years ago (I'm 77 now). I stick to much simpler trees. Great job.
Hey Harry, big fan from the US. Gr8 work mate. We got Eucs here where I work in AZ. Easily the biggest species in my area. But with the competition there, they grow really tall and fast it seems. Is this a Eucalyptus camaldulensis?? And which part of Australia do you guys work out of? Cheers #highclimberbrotherhood
Hey man, glad you like the vids 🙂 This tree was a Mountain grey gum. We have heaps of camuldelensis down in the flatter lands. I'm in the Dandenong Ranges Victoria
@Treeclimberharry582 How many times have you accidentally cut one of your ropes with the chainsaw? Also, have you thought about going to an electric chainsaw?
Just once, hit my climbing line, doing a birch tree a couple of years ago. I was so annoyed cut about 3 metres off with the splice 😩 we have an electric saw the husky one. Love it, just a bit underpowered for the bigger stuff
sadly i See you do a lot of Rigs with dead hollows mixed with live timber above the decay , its a game in time climbers lose , it will break , knowing when to climb or use a tower is the key , tree wise men 1988 in Melbourne Troy 17 years old climbed a tree with decay , i remember it ripped out and took his life , its knowing when God is telling you no !!! vs a Video Op ????
Accidently deleted this video so had to upload it again
Ah man, got excited for a minute. Love your videos mate, keep em coming!
Good job, nicely done.
You have the most positive ‘can do’ attitude Sir. Plus all the skills to go with. Always impressive stuff. Wet Eucs......grim😮

Thanks mate. awesome!! Still doing tree work and climbing at 77 is amazing!
Do you find nests in the trees, is that why the birds are squawking?
That section of wood from 9:00 to 10:30 would have been mint for a span rig dude
I feel like span rigging that would shake the tree more. Also rope wouldn't have been long enough 😅
I love this style of video. I am so, so tired of watching helmet cam vids. Excellent work. - Patrick
Thought I was logged in when I wrote this 🙂
Yeah me too, it's hardly even worth filming head cam any more, doesn't properly capture what your doing
I could have sworn I saw this video a few hours ago......nice work though!
These videos are awesome bro. What rope is that you climb with? Is that your favorite rope?
Thanks man, it's cougar blue, yeah I like it!
@treeclimberharry582 I appreciate the reply/answer. Stay safe man
