That beer battered fish looks so good, but I can't go the tartar sauce like that.... Mix you some mayo or miracle whip , with sweet pickle relish, maybe teaspoon or so of mustard, chopped red/purple onions and just a tad of lemon juice,,,, stir it all up good and across the top sprinkle some paprika. Now you got something with really good taste to dip that good fish in. We made it like this at the fire station every time we had fish and it's so good. Great video Capt. and thanks for sharing! Oh by the way,,,, you will know just by looking about how much relish and onions to put in. Nothing has to be measured, you are a good enough cook to know!

The haul takes a beating @ that spd but if I try to go any slower I feel like the boat cannot brust thru instead the motor works harder & take forever to get to shore & dealing with the adverse weather& rough ride even longer sets in panic, I stand up so I can dodge the high waves. Hi Captain!! Loved this episode. My wife and I just returned from two weeks bare boat sailing in a 36 foot catamaran around the Whitsunday Islands in Australia. What a magnificent experience. I am now on five glorious weeks of annual leave and tomorrow I am taking my boat into Bass Strait, setting off from Queenscliff, Victoria, for two days hard core fishing. Well, maybe not hard core, but I will be fishing.
Your beer battered fish looked bloody fantastic and the waters around that little island were pure paradise. Like you, I travel a lot alone but only because my wife works in I.T. as a contractor and she doesn't have the same time off as I do. I get 9 weeks annual leave and have accrued over 6 months long service leave. So, right now I'm on holidays and she's working.....someone has to pay the bills. Don't tell her I said that.

That was weird only that one snapper with its yellow eyes 👀 popped out. I'm assuming it's because of the 400' depth but it's weird it didn't happen to the others. I've caught them where I think it's the bladder that pops out of thier mouths...weird. good job not panicking when you were stuck on the sand bar!

Find yourself a Ronin 38 or 41, designed by a Cuban, my dad, Carlos Soto! The 38s and 48s were built in Taiwan from ‘84 to ‘90, and the 41s and 50s were built in Puerto Rico. Look up Ronin 41 Pescadora to see the one he loved the most and would have liked for himself.
From time to time they pop up on yachtworld and you can get a good deal.
Super solid, very carefully built… would be awesome to see you with one someday!
