    Beautiful. Beautiful work. Love all your modifications and work on the boat. 21 foot boat is perfect. It’s light , easy on gas , easier to trailer and the 21 feet is plenty of room. Perfectly practical.

    As an 82 year old retired airline pilot and have been to The Bahamas 13 times in my boats, and always done all my own boat repairs, I am very impressed with your work. Envious.

      Coming from a pilot that means a lot Captain I'm sure you have plenty of stories to tell.
      And yes when you are there by yourself you have to be handy anything happens you have to make your own repairs to make it home alive.
      Thanks for watching Captain Fred

    Awesome installation but isnt it much easier to buy a nice Ice chest? Top of the line Ice chests like Yedi, etc can hold ice for several days. How long do you plan on staying on your boat without going on land? I would say on that small boat maybe 2-4 days max. A nice quality Ice chest would work just fine and you dont have to worry about batteries and charging them. You could turn that area you made for the refrigerator as a storage unit/ tackle station.

    you have to travel/move the router against the direction of the bit turns and not in the same direction to get a clean cut or trim edge. Also, when using a drill as a pilot hole to the starboard for securing the screws make sure the shaft of the screw (not including the spiral teeth) is the same diameter as the drill. If you use a smaller drill than the shaft of the screw sooner a later the starboard will start to crack especially when the starboard (i know it's UV stable) is exposed to the sun.

    • @OutOnTheReef
      @OutOnTheReef  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      great point cap. i just purchased now a special drill bitt exactly for that i did not know they make one and it works awesome cap. thanks for the awesome suggestions👍

    Have you thought about a solar panel on your cabin top to charge your house batteries? Nicely done.

    • @OutOnTheReef
      @OutOnTheReef  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I measure the square footage of my pilothouse top and I cannot put to good size solar panels up there and I have tried measuring them to fit but they don't so for my conception of power a generator is the only way to get power from air conditioning and my coffee maker and charge my batteries but thanks for your great suggestion captain

    • @lukeshiver883
      @lukeshiver883 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@OutOnTheReef A buddy of mine has a solar system on his 22 foot center console, The panels are removable from the T Top. They are set up with power inverters to trickle charge one or two batteries while stationary.

    How’s the fridge holding up? On some boats the NorCold fridges burn out quite frequently supposedly because they don’t get enough ventilation. I just mounted a cheap dorm fridge for when I’m plugged in. Some people add a converter for time on the water.

    • @OutOnTheReef
      @OutOnTheReef  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      is been running strong , this fridge is 1200$ new so they are yacht quality , i love this fridge, and hopefully it will last me many years to come, an dim a refrigeration mechanic ,so i can always replaced the compressor if it burns out👍⚓

    A micro fan installed inside the fridge makes all the difference in the world. I don't now why manufacturers do not include one, it really circulates the cold air and evens out the refrigerator.

    How long does the refrigerator last on batteries do you just use generator to charge batteries or are they charge by boat

    • @OutOnTheReef
      @OutOnTheReef  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The batteries have 70 amps and the fridge on medium temperature it lasts about three days running and I charge the batteries with the generator when I'm running the AC the fridge is 12 volts and it only use 77 Watts
